Let Ω be some open subset of ?N containing 0 and Ω′=Ω?{0}. If g is a continuous function from ? × ? into ? satisfying some power like growth assumption, then any u∈L loc (Ω′) satisfying $$\begin{array}{*{20}c} { - div (Du \left| {Du} \right|^{p - 2} ) + g(.,u) = 0} & {in \mathcal{D}'(\Omega ')} \\ \end{array} $$ , remains bounded in Ω and satisfies the equation in D'(Ω). We give extensions when the singular set is some compact submanifold of Ω. Without restricting to the class of functions $$W^{1,n}_{0,\mathrm{rad}}(B)$$, we should emphasize that the above inequalities fail in $$W^{1,n}_{0}(B)$$. Questions concerning the sharpness of the above inequalities as well as the existence of the optimal functions are also studied. To illustrate the finding, an application to a class of boundary value problems on balls is presented. Let $$\Omega \subset {\mathbb {R}}^N$$ be an arbitrary open set, $$0<s<1$$ and denote by $$(e^{-t(-\Delta )_{{{\mathbb {R}}}^N}^s})_{t\ge 0}$$ the semigroup on $$L^2({{\mathbb {R}}}^N)$$ generated by the fractional Laplace operator. In the first part of the paper, we show that if T is a self-adjoint semigroup on $$L^2(\Omega )$$ satisfying a fractional Gaussian estimate in the sense that $$|T(t)f|\le Me^{-bt(-\Delta )_{{{\mathbb {R}}}^N}^s}|f|$$, $$0\le t \le 1$$, $$f\in L^2(\Omega )$$, for some constants $$M\ge 1$$ and $$b\ge 0$$, then T defines a bounded holomorphic semigroup of angle $$\frac{\pi }{2}$$ that interpolates on $$L^p(\Omega )$$, $$1\le p<\infty $$. Using a duality argument, we prove that the same result also holds on the space of continuous functions. In the second part, we apply the above results to the realization of fractional order operators with the exterior Dirichlet conditions.  相似文献

In this article, the equivalence and symmetries of underdetermined differential equations and differential equations with deviations of the first order are considered with respect to the pseudogroup of transformations . That means, the transformed unknown function is obtained by means of the change of the independent variable and subsequent multiplication by a nonvanishing factor. Instead of the common direct calculations, we use some more advanced tools from differential geometry; however, the exposition is self-contained and only the most fundamental properties of differential forms are employed. We refer to analogous achievements in literature. In particular, the generalized higher symmetry problem involving a finite number of invariants of the kind is compared to similar results obtained by means of auxiliary functional equations.  相似文献

Making use of Rankin's convolution, one proves the estimate (1) $$f(\mathcal{N}) = O(\left| \mathcal{N} \right|^{\tfrac{k}{2} - \tfrac{1}{2}\delta (n)} ),$$ where $$\delta (n) = \frac{{n + 1}}{{\left( {n + 1} \right)\left( {2n + \tfrac{{1 + ( - 1)^n }}{2}} \right) + 1}}.$$ Previously, for n ≥ 2 one has known Raghavan's estimate $$f(\mathcal{N}) = O(\left| \mathcal{N} \right|^{\tfrac{k}{2}} )$$ In the case n=2, Kitaoka has obtained a result, sharper than (1), namely: (2) $$f(\mathcal{N}) = O(\left| \mathcal{N} \right|^{\tfrac{k}{2} - \tfrac{1}{4} + \varepsilon } ).$$ At the end of the paper one investigates specially the case n=2. It is shown that in some cases the result (2) can be improved to, apparently, unimprovable estimates if one assumes some analogues of the Petersson conjecture. These results lead to a conjecture regarding the optimal estimates of f(N), n=2.  相似文献
