The dual code of any (δ+αu2)-constacyclic code over F2m[u]∕〈u4〉 of oddly even length

Let ${\mathbb{F}}_{2^m}$ be a finite field of cardinality $2^m$, $R={\mathbb{F}}_{2^m}\left[u\right]∕〈u^4〉={\mathbb{F}}_{2^m}+u{\mathbb{F}}_{2^m}+u^2{\mathbb{F}}_{2^m}+u^3{\mathbb{F}}_{2^m}$ $(u^4=0)$ which is a finite chain ring, and $n$ is an odd positive integer. For any $\delta ,\alpha \in {\mathbb{F}}_{2^m}^{\times }$, an explicit representation for the dual code of any $(\delta +\alpha u^2)$-constacyclic code over $R$ of length $2n$ is given. And some dual codes of $(1+u^2)$-constacyclic codes over $R$ of length 14 are constructed. For the case of $\delta =1$, all distinct self-dual $(1+\alpha u^2)$-constacyclic codes over $R$ of length $2n$ are determined.     

On a problem of Specker about Euclidean representations of finite graphs

Say that a graph $G$ is representable in ${\mathbb{R}}^n$ if there is a map $f$ from its vertex set into the Euclidean space ${\mathbb{R}}^n$ such that $6f\left(x\right)?f\left(x^{\prime }\right)6=6f\left(y\right)?f\left(y^{\prime }\right)6$ iff $\{x,x^{\prime }\}$ and$\{y,y^{\prime }\}$ are both edges or both non-edges in $G$. The purpose of this note is to present the proof of the following result, due to Einhorn and Schoenberg in Einhorn and Schoenberg (1966): if $G$ finite is neither complete nor independent, then it is representable in ${\mathbb{R}}^{\left|G\right|?2}$. A similar result also holds in the case of finite complete edge-colored graphs.     

Virtual resolutions of points in P1×P1

We explore explicit virtual resolutions, as introduced by Berkesch, Erman, and Smith, for ideals of finite sets of points in ${\mathbb{P}}^1\times {\mathbb{P}}^1$. Specifically, we describe a virtual resolution for a sufficiently general set of points X in ${\mathbb{P}}^1\times {\mathbb{P}}^1$ that only depends on $|X|$. We also improve an existence result of Berkesch, Erman, and Smith in the special case of points in ${\mathbb{P}}^1\times {\mathbb{P}}^1$; more precisely, we give an effective bound for their construction that gives a virtual resolution of length two for any set of points in ${\mathbb{P}}^1\times {\mathbb{P}}^1$.     

Vector-valued nonstationary Gabor frames

As an extension of Gabor frames, nonstationary Gabor (NSG) frames were recently introduced in adaptive signal analysis. They allow for efficient reconstruction with flexible sampling and varying window functions. In this paper we generalize the notion of NSG frames from $L^2(\mathbb{R})$ to the vector-valued Hilbert space $L^2(\mathbb{R},{\mathbb{C}}^L)$, and investigate the resulting vector-valued NSG frames. We derive a Walnut's representation of the mixed frame operator, and provide some necessary/sufficient conditions for a vector-valued NSG system to be a frame for $L^2(\mathbb{R},{\mathbb{C}}^L)$. Furthermore, we show the existence of painless vector-valued NSG frames, and of vector-valued NSG frames with fast decaying window functions.     

Operator-stable and operator-self-similar random fields

Two classes of multivariate random fields with operator-stable marginals are constructed. The random fields $\mathbb{X}=\{X\left(t\right):t\in {\mathbb{R}}^d\}$ with values in ${\mathbb{R}}^m$ are invariant in law under operator-scaling in both the time-domain and the state-space. The construction is based on operator-stable random measures utilizing certain homogeneous functions.     

The cotype zeta function of Zd

We give an asymptotic formula for the number of sublattices $\Lambda \subseteq {\mathbb{Z}}^d$ of index at most $X$ for which ${\mathbb{Z}}^d/\Lambda$ has rank at most $m$, answering a question of Nguyen and Shparlinski. We compare this result to work of Stanley and Wang on Smith normal forms of random integral matrices and discuss connections to the Cohen–Lenstra heuristics. Our arguments are based on Petrogradsky’s formulas for the cotype zeta function of ${\mathbb{Z}}^d$, a multivariable generalization of the subgroup growth zeta function of ${\mathbb{Z}}^d$.     

Solution of the Navier–Stokes problem

A new a priori estimate for solutions to Navier–Stokes equations is derived. Uniqueness and existence of these solutions in ${\mathbb{R}}^3$ for all $t>0$ is proved in a class of solutions locally differentiable in time with values in $H^1\left({\mathbb{R}}^3\right)$, where $H^1\left({\mathbb{R}}^3\right)$ is the Sobolev space. By the solution a solution to an integral equation is understood. No smallness restrictions on the data are imposed.     

Permutation binomials of the form xr(xq−1 + a) over Fqe

We present several existence and nonexistence results for permutation binomials of the form $x^r(x^{q-1}+a)$, where $e\ge 2$ and $a\in {\mathbb{F}}_{q^e}^{⁎}$. As a consequence, we obtain a complete characterization of such permutation binomials over ${\mathbb{F}}_{q^2}$, ${\mathbb{F}}_{q^3}$, ${\mathbb{F}}_{q^4}$, ${\mathbb{F}}_{p^5}$, and ${\mathbb{F}}_{p^6}$, where p is an odd prime.
