Multiple positive solutions for a fourth-order p-Laplacian Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems on time scales

In this paper, we investigate the existence of multiple positive solutions for the following fourthorder p-Laplacian Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems on time scales ﹛[φp(u△△(t))u △△= f(t, u(σ(t))), t ∈ [a, b],α0 u(a)- β0u△(a) = 0, γ0 u(σ(b)) + δ0 u△(σ(b)) = 0,α0(φp(u△△))(a)- β0(φp(u△△))△(a) = 0,γ0(φp(u△△))(σ(b)) + δ0(φp(u△△))△(σ(b)) = 0,where φp(s) is the p-Laplacian operator. Under growth conditions on the nonlinearity f some existence results of at least two and three positive solutions for the above problem are obtained by virtue of fixed point theorems on cone. In particular, the nonlinearity f may be both sublinear and superlinear.

The authors obtain some gradient estimates for positive solutions to the following nonlinear parabolic equation:αu/αt=△u-b(x,t)u~σ on complete noncompact manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded from below,where 0σ1 is a real constant,and b(x,t) is a function which is C~2 in the x-variable and C~1 in the t-variable.

本文要讨论了二阶P—Laplaci!an方程边值问题{△（φ（Au（t-1）））＋a（t），（t，u（t））=0，t∈N[1，T＋1]；△u（O）=0，u（T＋2）=0三个正解的存在性。通过利用一个三解不动点定理，证明了当，（t，x）在满足较弱条件时该方程至少三个正解的存在性。     

一类四阶差分方程边值问题Extremal的存在性

本文运用上,下解单调迭代技巧讨论四阶差分方程两点边值问题{△~2(g△~u(t-2)))=f(t,u(t),△~u(t-1)),t∈{2,3…,N},u(0)=u(N+2)=△~u(0)=△~2u(N)=0解的存在性,其中N＞2是一个固定的自然数,f:{2,3,…,N}×R~2→R连续,g:R→R连续,严格单调递增且g(0)=0.     

Multiple solutions for a class of nonlinear elliptic equations on the Sierpinski gasket

This paper investigates a class of nonlinear elliptic equations on a fractal domain. We establish a strong Sobolev-type inequality which leads to the existence of multiple non-trivial solutions of △u+ c(x)u = f(x, u), with zero Dirichlet boundary conditions on the Sierpihski gasket. Our existence results do not require any growth conditions of f(x,t) in t, in contrast to the classical theory of elliptic equations on smooth domains.     

ON A BI-HARMONIC EQUATION INVOLVING CRITICAL EXPONENT: EXISTENCE AND MULTIPLICITY RESULTS

In this paper, we consider the problem of existence as well as multiplicity results for a bi-harmonic equation under the Navier boundary conditions: △2 u = K(x)u p , u > 0 in Ω , △u = u = 0 on Ω , where Ω is a smooth domain in R n , n 5, and p + 1 = 2 n n 4 is the critical Sobolev exponent. We obtain highlightly a new criterion of existence, which provides existence results for a dense subset of positive functions, and generalizes Bahri-Coron type criterion in dimension six. Our argument gives also estimates on the Morse index of the obtained solutions and extends some known results. Moreover, it provides, for generic K, Morse inequalities at infinity, which delivers lower bounds for the number of solutions. As further applications of this Morse theoretical approach, we prove more existence results.     

POSITIVE SOLUTION TO FOURTH-ORDER IMPULSIVE DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH P-LAPLACIAN

In order to study three-point BVPs for fourth-order impulsive differential equation of the form(\phi_p(u'(t)))'- f(t,u(t))=0, t≠ t_i,△ u(t_i)=-I_i(u(t_i)), i=1, 2, ..., k,△u'(t_i)=-L_i(u(t_i)), i=1, 2, ..., k,(\star)with the following boundary conditionsu'(0)=u(1)=0, u'(0)=0=u'(1)-\phi_q(α)u'(η),the authors translate the fourth-order impulsive differential equations with p-Laplacian (\star) into three-point BVPs for second-order differential equation without impulses and two-point BVPs for second-order impulsive differential equation by a variable transform. Based on it, existence theorems of positive solutions for the boundary value problems (\star) are obtained.
