Exponential Attractor for a Nonlinear Boussinesq Equation

This paper is devoted to prove the existence of an exponential attractor for the semiflow generated by a nonlinear Boussinesq equation. We formulate the Boussinesq equation as an abstract equation in the Hilbert space H0^2（0, 1） × L^2（0, 1）. The main step in this research is to show that there exists an absorbing set for the solution semiflow in the Hilbert space H0^3（0, 1） × H0^1（0, 1）.     

Unbounded One-Dimensional Global Attractor for the Damped Sine-Gordon Equation

Summary. The dynamical behavior of the damped sine-Gordon equation with homogeneous Neumann boundary condition is studied. It is shown that the equation has an unbounded one-dimensional global attractor in a suitable functional space when the ``damping' and the ``diffusing' are not very small. Approximate Solution of the Kuramoto-Shivashinsky Equation on an Unbounded Domain

The main goal of this paper is to approximate the Kuramoto-Shivashinsky (K-S for short) equation on an unbounded domain near a change of bifurcation, where a band of dominant pattern is changing stability. This leads to a slow modulation of the dominant pattern. Here we consider PDEs with quadratic nonlinearities and derive rigorously the modulation equation, which is called the Ginzburg-Landau (G-L for short) equation, for the amplitudes of the dominating modes.
