Strong commutativity preserving maps on Lie ideals   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
Let A be a prime ring and let R be a noncentral Lie ideal of A. An additive map f:RA is called strong commutativity preserving (SCP) on R if [f(x),f(y)]=[x,y] for all x,yR. In this paper we show that if f is SCP on R, then there exist λC, λ2=1 and an additive map μ:RZ(A) such that f(x)=λx+μ(x) for all xR where C is the extended centroid of A, unless charA=2 and A satisfies the standard identity of degree 4.  相似文献

In this paper we study the maximum-minimum value of polynomials over the integer ring Z. In particular, we prove the following: Let F(x,y) be a polynomial over Z. Then, maxxZ(T)minyZ|F(x,y)|=o(T1/2) as T→∞ if and only if there is a positive integer B such that maxxZminyZ|F(x,y)|?B. We then apply these results to exponential diophantine equations and obtain that: Let f(x,y), g(x,y) and G(x,y) be polynomials over Q, G(x,y)∈(Q[x,y]−Q[x])∪Q, and b a positive integer. For every α in Z, there is a y in Z such that f(α,y)+g(α,y)bG(α,y)=0 if and only if for every integer α there exists an h(x)∈Q[x] such that f(x,h(x))+g(x,h(x))bG(x,h(x))≡0, and h(α)∈Z.  相似文献

Let C be a convex symmetric subset of a real Banach space F and K be a subgroup of the group (F,+). Let E be a real linear space, h:EF, and h(x+y)−h(x)−h(y)∈K+C for x,yE. Let G be a graph with vertex set V and edge set E, and let A be an abelian group. A labeling f:VA induces an edge labeling f:EA defined by f(xy)=f(x)+f(y). For iA, let vf(i)=card{vV:f(v)=i} and ef(i)=card{eE:f(e)=i}. A labeling f is said to be A-friendly if |vf(i)−vf(j)|≤1 for all (i,j)∈A×A, and A-cordial if we also have |ef(i)−ef(j)|≤1 for all (i,j)∈A×A. When A=Z2, the friendly index set of the graph G is defined as {|ef(1)−ef(0)|:the vertex labelingf is Z2-friendly}. In this paper we completely determine the friendly index sets of 2-regular graphs. In particular, we show that a 2-regular graph of order n is cordial if and only if n?2 (mod 4).  相似文献

Let AC(X) and BC(Y) be uniform algebras with Choquet boundaries δA and δB. A map T:AB is called norm-linear if ‖λTf+μTg‖=‖λf+μg‖; norm-additive, if ‖Tf+Tg‖=‖f+g‖, and norm-additive in modulus, if ‖|Tf|+|Tg|‖=‖|f|+|g|‖ for each λ,μC and all algebra elements f and g. We show that for any norm-linear surjection T:AB there exists a homeomorphism ψ:δAδB such that |(Tf)(y)|=|f(ψ(y))| for every fA and yδB. Sufficient conditions for norm-additive and norm-linear surjections, not assumed a priori to be linear, or continuous, to be unital isometric algebra isomorphisms are given. We prove that any unital norm-linear surjection T for which T(i)=i, or which preserves the peripheral spectra of C-peaking functions of A, is a unital isometric algebra isomorphism. In particular, we show that if a linear operator between two uniform algebras, which is surjective and norm-preserving, is unital, or preserves the peripheral spectra of C-peaking functions, then it is automatically multiplicative and, in fact, an algebra isomorphism.  相似文献

Let X be a nonempty, convex and compact subset of normed linear space E (respectively, let X be a nonempty, bounded, closed and convex subset of Banach space E and A be a nonempty, convex and compact subset of X) and f:X×XR be a given function, the uniqueness of equilibrium point for equilibrium problem which is to find xX (respectively, xA) such that f(x,y)≥0 for all yX (respectively, f(x,y)≥0 for all yA) is studied with varying f (respectively, with both varying f and varying A). The results show that most of equilibrium problems (in the sense of Baire category) have unique equilibrium point.  相似文献

Let ? be a zero-product preserving bijective bounded linear map from a unital algebra A onto a unital algebra B such that ?(1)=k. We show that if A is a CSL algebra on a Hilbert space or a J-lattice algebra on a Banach space then there exists an isomorphism ψ from A onto B such that ?=kψ. Let be a one-to-one function such that d(f(N))=1 and, if AAD, then f(A)∈AD. It is proved that f must also preserve density, that is, d(f(A))=d(A) for all AAD. Let [n] denote the set of positive integers {1,2,…,n}. An r-partial permutation of [n] is a pair (A,f) where A⊆[n], |A|=r and f:A→[n] is an injective map. A set A of r-partial permutations is intersecting if for any (A,f), (B,g)∈A, there exists xAB such that f(x)=g(x). We prove that for any intersecting family A of r-partial permutations, we have .It seems rather hard to characterize the case of equality. Let p(n) denote the smallest prime factor of an integer n>1 and let p(1)=∞. We study the asymptotic behavior of the sum M(x,y)=Σ1≤nx,p(n)>yμ(n) and use this to estimate the size of A(x)=max|f|≤12≤n<xμ(n)f(p(n))|, where μ(n) is the Moebius function. Let R be a commutative ring. The total graph of R, denoted by T(Γ(R)) is a graph with all elements of R as vertices, and two distinct vertices x,yR, are adjacent if and only if x+yZ(R), where Z(R) denotes the set of zero-divisors of R. Let regular graph of R, Reg(Γ(R)), be the induced subgraph of T(Γ(R)) on the regular elements of R. Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring and Z(R) is not an ideal. In this paper we show that if T(Γ(R)) is a connected graph, then . Also, we prove that if R is a finite ring, then T(Γ(R)) is a Hamiltonian graph. All continuous endomorphisms f of the shift dynamical system S on the 2-adic integers Z2 are induced by some , where n is a positive integer, Bn is the set of n-blocks over {0, 1}, and f(x)=y0y1y2… where for all iN, yi=f(xixi+1xi+n−1). Define D:Z2Z2 to be the endomorphism of S induced by the map {(00,0),(01,1),(10,1),(11,0)} and V:Z2Z2 by V(x)=−1−x. We prove that D, V°D, S, and V°S are conjugate to S and are the only continuous endomorphisms of S whose parity vector function is solenoidal. We investigate the properties of D as a dynamical system, and use D to construct a conjugacy from the 3x+1 function T:Z2Z2 to a parity-neutral dynamical system. We also construct a conjugacy R from D to T. We apply these results to establish that, in order to prove the 3x+1 conjecture, it suffices to show that for any mZ+, there exists some nN such that R−1(m) has binary representation of the form or .  相似文献

In this paper, in the setting of sequential spaces, we consider the value functions vS and vI defined by vS(x)=supyK(x)f(x,y) and vI(x)=infyK(x)f(x,y), and we introduce sufficient conditions on the value functions and on the data, weaker than upper semicontinuity, which guarantee the existence of maximum for such functions. Let G be a graph and f:GG be a continuous map. Denote by P(f), R(f) and Ω(f) the sets of periodic points, recurrent points and non-wandering points of f, respectively. In this paper we show that: (1) If L=(x,y) is an open arc contained in an edge of G such that {fm(x),fk(y)}⊂(x,y) for some m,kN, then R(f)∩(x,y)≠∅; (2) Any isolated point of P(f) is also an isolated point of Ω(f); (3) If xΩ(f)−Ω(fn) for some nN, then x is an eventually periodic point. These generalize the corresponding results in W. Huang and X. Ye (2001) [9] and J. Xiong (1983, 1986) [17] and [19] on interval maps or tree maps.  相似文献

Let g:D×DR be a symmetric function on a finite set D satisfying g(x,x)=0 for all xD. A switch gσ of g w.r.t. a local valuation σ:DR is defined by gσ(x,y)=σ(x)+g(x,y)+σ(y) for xy and gσ(x,x)=0 for all x. We show that every symmetric function g has a unique minimal semimetric switch, and, moreover, there is a switch of g that is isometric to a finite Manhattan metric. Given a unimodal map f, let I=[c2,c1] denote the core and set E={(x0,x1,…)∈(I,f)|xiω(c,f) for all iN}. It is known that there exist strange adding machines embedded in symmetric tent maps f such that the collection of endpoints of (I,f) is a proper subset of E and such that limk→∞Q(k)≠∞, where Q(k) is the kneading map.We use the partition structure of an adding machine to provide a sufficient condition for x to be an endpoint of (I,f) in the case of an embedded adding machine. We then show there exist strange adding machines embedded in symmetric tent maps for which the collection of endpoints of (I,f) is precisely E. Examples of this behavior are provided where limk→∞Q(k) does and does not equal infinity, and in the case where limk→∞Q(k)=∞, the collection of endpoints of (I,f) is always E.  相似文献
