In this paper we apply the method initially developed in [1] for differential-difference equations, to the case of difference equations, in order to find 2 and 3-periodic solutions of some equations that often appear in the literatures as are for instance the case of Applications 2,5 which are examples of population growth models, and Application 4, which is a standard example of nonlinear higher order scalar difference equation depending on two parameters (see, Kocik and Ladas [3]).  相似文献

This paper is a continuation of a previous one (J. Math. Anal. Appl. 185 (1994), 275–287) in which the concept of spectral dichotomy has been introduced. This new notion of dichotomy has proved to be useful since it allows to apply the well known theory of linear operators to study dynamic properties of nonautonomous linear difference equations. In the present paper we extend our result on the equivalence of the spectral dichotomy and the well known exponential dichotomy to the class of linear differenc equations whose right-hand sides are not necessarily invertible. We furthermore investigate equations on the set of positive integers for which we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for exponential and unifrom stability.  相似文献

In this paper, we generalize the main theorem of Liz and Ferreiro [E. Liz, J.B. Ferreiro, A note on the global stability of generalized difference equations, Appl. Math. Lett. 15 (2002) 655–659] and some other global stability results for nonautonomous higher-order difference equations to the case when contraction-type steps are incorporated together with the steps when the difference sequence can increase.  相似文献

The most important result of this paper is a new oscillation criterion for delay difference equations. This criterion constitutes a substantial improvement of the one by Ladas et al. [J. Appl. Math. Simulation 2 (1989), 101–111] and should be looked upon as the discrete analogue of a well-known oscillation criterion for delay differential equations.  相似文献

Using a novel approach, we present some new explicit criteria for global exponential stability of the zero solution of general nonlinear Volterra difference equations in phase spaces. In particular, this gives a solution to an open problem posed very recently by E. Braverman and I. M. Karabash in Journal of Difference Equations and Applications 18 , 909–939 (2012). As an application, we apply the obtained results to study asymptotic behavior of equilibriums of discrete time neural networks.  相似文献

By employing a fixed-point theorem in cones, we establish some criteria for existence of positive periodic solutions of a class of nn-dimension periodic functional differential equations with impulses. For nonlinear autonomous functional difference equations, the existence of the local stable manifolds, together with the local unstable manifolds and the local center-unstable manifolds, is shown. As an application, the principle of linearization which states that stabilities and instabilities for the zero solution of nonlinear equations can be derived from those of the zero solution of the linearized equations under some circumstances is established for functional difference equations.  相似文献

We present new non-standard methods based on Mickens' ideas for constructing numerical schemes for differential equations. By analysing his schemes, we were able to give generalized versions by means of Lagrange–Burman expansions. Our generalization provides a theoretical frame to understand non-standard finite difference methods and also to analyse the errors in the approximations. This paper is devoted to the study of second order nonlinear difference equations. A Nonlocal Perturbation of a Dirichlet Boundary Value Problem is considered. An exhaustive study of the related Green's function to the linear part is done. The exact expression of the function is given, moreover the range of parameter for which it has constant sign is obtained. Using this, some existence results for the nonlinear problem are deduced from monotone iterative techniques, the classical Krasnoselski fixed point theorem or by application of recent fixed point theorems that combine both theories.  相似文献

We present some explicit sufficient conditions for the global stability of the zero solution in nonautonomous higher order difference equations. The linear case is discussed in detail. In this paper, we establish some new nonlinear integral inequalities of the Gronwall–Bellman–Ou-Iang-type in two variables. These on the one hand generalizes and on the other hand furnish a handy tool for the study of qualitative as well as quantitative properties of solutions of differential equations. A nonautonomous N-species discrete Lotka–Volterra competitive system of difference equations with delays and feedback controls is considered. New sufficient conditions are obtained for the permanence of this discrete system. The results indicate that one can choose suitable controls to make the species coexistence in the long run. Moreover, we give some examples to illustrate the feasibility of our result which can be well suited for computational purposes.  相似文献

The method presented in [4] for the solution of linear difference equations in a single variable is extended to some equations in two variables. Every linear combination of a given functionf and of its partial differences can be obtained by the discrete convolution product off by a suitable functionl (which depends on the considered linear combination), and we want to solve in a convolutional form difference equations in the whole plane. However, the convolution of two functions may not be possible if their supports contain half straight lines with opposite directions. To avoid this, we take four sets of functions corresponding to the quadrants such thatl belong to every set, every set endowed with the convolution and with the usual addition is a ring, and there is an inverse ofl in each of the four rings. This is attained by taking, for each ring, a set of functions whose supports belong to suitable cones. After choosing such rings, a very natural initial-value first-order Cauchy Problem (in partial differences) is reduced to a convolutional form. This is done either by a direct method or by introducing the forward difference functions i f(i=1,2) in a general way depending on the shape of the support off so that Laplace-like formulas with initial and final values) hold. Applications to difference equations in the whole plane and to partial differential problems are made.  相似文献

Based on a notion of Stieltjes derivative of a function with respect to another function, we provide Ulam–Hyers type stability results for nonlinear differential equations driven by measures on compact or on unbounded intervals, in the lack of Lipschitz continuity assumptions. In particular, one can deduce stability results for generalized differential equations, dynamic equations on time scales or impulsive differential equations (including the case of an infinite number of impulses that accumulate in the considered interval, thus allowing the study of Zeno hybrid systems).  相似文献

By using the critical point method, some new criteria are obtained for the existence and multiplicity of periodic solutions for fourth-order nonlinear functional difference equations. The proof is based on the linking theorem in combination with variational technique. Recent results in the literature are generalized and significantly improved. Abstract

Lie group theory is applied to rational difference equations of the form

where (an)n∈?0, (bn)n∈?0 are non-zero real sequences. Consequently, new symmetries are derived and exact solutions, in unified manner, are constructed. Based on some constraints in the expression of the symmetry generators, we split these solutions into different categories. This work generalises a recent result by Ibrahim [9].  相似文献
