A derangement of a set X is a fixed-point-free permutation of X. Derangement action digraphs are closely related to group action digraphs introduced by Annexstein, Baumslag and Rosenberg in 1990. For a non-empty set X and a non-empty subset S of derangements of X, the derangement action digraph DA(X,S) has vertex set X, and an arc from x to y if and only if y is the image of x under the action of some element of S, so by definition it is a simple digraph. In common with Cayley graphs and Cayley digraphs, derangement action digraphs may be useful to model networks since the same routing and communication schemes can be implemented at each vertex. We prove that the family of derangement action digraphs contains all Cayley digraphs, all finite vertex-transitive simple graphs, and all finite regular simple graphs of even valency. We determine necessary and sufficient conditions on S under which DA(X,S) may be viewed as a simple undirected graph of valency |S|. We investigate structural and symmetry properties of these digraphs and graphs, pose several open problems, and give many examples.  相似文献

The sectional category of a subgroup inclusion H?G can be defined as the sectional category of the corresponding map between Eilenberg–MacLane spaces. We extend a characterization of topological complexity of aspherical spaces given by Farber, Grant, Lupton and Oprea to the context of sectional category of subgroup inclusions and investigate it by means of Adamson cohomology theory.  相似文献

Let h be a connective homology theory. We construct a functorial relative plus construction as a Bousfield localization functor in the category of maps of spaces. It allows us to associate to a pair (X,H), consisting of a connected space X and an h-perfect normal subgroup H of the fundamental group π1(X), an h-acyclic map XXH+h inducing the quotient by H on the fundamental group. We show that this map is terminal among the h-acyclic maps that kill a subgroup of H. When h is an ordinary homology theory with coefficients in a commutative ring with unit R, this provides a functorial and well-defined counterpart to a construction by cell attachment introduced by Broto, Levi, and Oliver in the spirit of Quillen’s plus construction. We also clarify the necessity to use a strongly R-perfect group H in characteristic zero.  相似文献

Let G be a simple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field. A closed subgroup H of G is called G-completely reducible (G-cr) if, whenever H is contained in a parabolic subgroup P of G, it is contained in a Levi factor of P. In this paper we complete the classification of connected G-cr subgroups when G has exceptional type, by determining the L0-irreducible connected reductive subgroups for each simple classical factor L0 of a Levi subgroup of G. As an illustration, we determine all reducible, G-cr semisimple subgroups when G has type F4 and various properties thereof. This work complements results of Lawther, Liebeck, Seitz and Testerman, and is vital in classifying non-G-cr reductive subgroups, a project being undertaken by the authors elsewhere.  相似文献

We fix a monster model D of some stable theory and investigate substructures of D which are existentially closed within the class of substructures equipped with an action of a fixed group G. We describe them as PAC substructures of D and obtain results related to Galois theory.Assuming that the class of these existentially closed substructures is elementary, we show that, under the assumption of having bounded models, its theory is simple and eliminates quantifiers up to some existential formulas. Moreover, this theory codes finite sets and allows a geometric elimination of imaginaries, but not always a weak elimination of imaginaries.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce the crossed product construction for a discrete group action on an operator system. In analogy to the work of E. Katsoulis and C. Ramsey, we describe three canonical crossed products arising from such a dynamical system. We describe how these crossed product constructions behave under G-equivariant maps, tensor products, and the canonical C?-covers. We show that hyperrigidity is preserved under two of the three crossed products. Finally, using A. Kavruk's notion of an operator system that detects C?-nuclearity, we give a negative answer to a question on operator algebra crossed products posed by Katsoulis and Ramsey.  相似文献

We give an asymptotic formula for the number of sublattices ΛZd of index at most X for which Zd/Λ has rank at most m, answering a question of Nguyen and Shparlinski. We compare this result to work of Stanley and Wang on Smith normal forms of random integral matrices and discuss connections to the Cohen–Lenstra heuristics. Our arguments are based on Petrogradsky’s formulas for the cotype zeta function of Zd, a multivariable generalization of the subgroup growth zeta function of Zd.  相似文献

Motivated by applications to multiplicity formulas in index theory, we study a family of distributions Θ(m;k) associated to a piecewise quasi-polynomial function m. The family is indexed by an integer kZ>0, and admits an asymptotic expansion as k, which generalizes the expansion obtained in the Euler–Maclaurin formula. When m is the multiplicity function arising from the quantization of a symplectic manifold, the leading term of the asymptotic expansion is the Duistermaat–Heckman measure. Our main result is that m is uniquely determined by a collection of such asymptotic expansions. We also show that the construction is compatible with pushforwards. As an application, we describe a simpler proof that formal quantization is functorial with respect to restrictions to a subgroup.  相似文献

In this note, we study linear systems on complete toric varieties X with an invariant point whose orbit under the action of Aut(X) contains the dense torus T of X. We give a characterization of such varieties in terms of its defining fan and introduce a new definition of expected dimension of linear systems which consider the contribution given by certain toric subvarieties. Finally, we study degenerations of linear systems on these toric varieties induced by toric degenerations.  相似文献

Quotients of Banach-Lie groups are regarded as topological groups with Lie algebra in the sense of Hofmann-Morris on the one hand, and as Q-groups in the sense of Barre-Plaisant on the other hand. For the groups of the type G/N where NG is a pseudo-discrete normal subgroup, their Lie algebra in the sense of Q-groups turns out to be isomorphic to the Lie algebra of G, which is in general merely a dense subalgebra of the Lie algebra of G/N when regarded as a topological group with Lie algebra. The submersion-like behavior of quotient maps of Banach-Lie groups is also investigated. The two aforementioned approaches to the Lie theory of the quotients of Banach-Lie groups thus lead to differing results and the Lie theoretic properties of quotient groups are more accurately described by the Q-group approach than by the approach via topological groups with Lie algebras.  相似文献

We study Whittaker functions for generalized principal series representations of GSp(2,R) induced from Siegel parabolic subgroup. We give Mellin–Barnes type integral representations of Whittaker functions belonging to certain K-types. As an application of our explicit formulas, we compute the archimedean parts of Novodvorsky's zeta integrals. As a consequence we can show the entireness of the spinor L-functions for generic cusp forms on GSp(2).  相似文献
