Let denote the set of simultaneously - approximable points in and denote the set of multiplicatively ψ-approximable points in . Let be a manifold in . The aim is to develop a metric theory for the sets and analogous to the classical theory in which is simply . In this note, we mainly restrict our attention to the case that is a planar curve . A complete Hausdorff dimension theory is established for the sets and . A divergent Khintchine type result is obtained for ; i.e. if a certain sum diverges then the one-dimensional Lebesgue measure on of is full. Furthermore, in the case that is a rational quadric the convergent Khintchine type result is obtained for both types of approximation. Our results for naturally generalize the dimension and Lebesgue measure statements of Beresnevich et al. (Mem AMS, 179 (846), 1–91 (2006)). Let and denote the complexifications of Heisenberg hypersurfaces in and , respectively. We show that non-degenerate holomorphic Segre mappings from into with possess a partial rigidity property. As an application, we prove that the holomorphic Segre non-transversality for a holomorphic Segre map from into with propagates along Segre varieties. We also give an example showing that this propagation property of holomorphic Segre transversality fails when N > 2n − 2.  相似文献

We prove the existence of a unique solution of the following Neumann problem , u > 0, in (a, b) × (0, T), u(x, 0) = u 0(x) ≥ 0 in (a, b), and , where if m < 0, if m = 0, and m≤ 0, , and the case −1 < m ≤ 0, , for some constant p > 1 − m. We also obtain a similar result in higher dimensions. As a corollary we will give a new proof of a result of A. Rodriguez and J.L. Vazquez on the existence of infinitely many finite mass solutions of the above equation in for any −1 < m ≤ 0. We also obtain the exact decay rate of the solution at infinity.  相似文献

We introduce a new class of exponentials of Artin–Hasse type, called π-exponentials. These exponentials depend on the choice of a generator π of the Tate module of a Lubin–Tate group over . They arise naturally as solutions of solvable differential modules over the Robba ring. If is isomorphic to over , we develop methods to test their over-convergence, and get in this way a stronger version of the Frobenius structure theorem for differential equations. We define a natural transformation of the Artin–Schreier complex into the Kummer complex. This provides an explicit generator of the Kummer unramified extension of , whose residue field is a given Artin–Schreier extension of , where k is the residue field of K. We then compute explicitly the group, under tensor product, of isomorphism classes of rank one solvable differential equations. Moreover, we get a canonical way to compute the rank one φ-module over attached to a rank one representation of , defined by an Artin–Schreier character.  相似文献

Let κ be a cardinal which is measurable after generically adding many Cohen subsets to κ and let be the κ-Rado graph. We prove, for 2 ≤ m < ω, that there is a finite value such that the set [κ] m can be partitioned into classes such that for any coloring of any of the classes C i in fewer than κ colors, there is a copy of in such that is monochromatic. It follows that , that is, for any coloring of with fewer than κ colors there is a copy of such that has at most colors. On the other hand, we show that there are colorings of such that if is any copy of then for all , and hence . We characterize as the cardinality of a certain finite set of types and obtain an upper and a lower bound on its value. Let be a smooth continuous trace algebra, with a Riemannian manifold spectrum X, equipped with a smooth action by a discrete group G such that G acts on X properly and isometrically. Then is KK-theoretically Poincaré dual to , where is the inverse of in the Brauer group of Morita equivalence classes of continuous trace algebras equipped with a group action. We deduce this from a strengthening of Kasparov’s duality theorem. As applications we obtain a version of the above Poincaré duality with X replaced by a compact G-manifold M and Poincaré dualities for twisted group algebras if the group satisfies some additional properties related to the Dirac dual-Dirac method for the Baum- Connes conjecture. Consider a smooth bounded domain , and the Navier–Stokes system in with initial value and external force f =  div F, where , are so-called Serrin exponents. It is an important question what is the optimal (weakest possible) initial value condition in order to obtain a unique strong solution in some initial interval [0, T), . Up to now several sufficient conditions on u 0 are known which need not be necessary. Our main result, see Theorem 1.1, shows that the condition , A denotes the Stokes operator, is sufficient and necessary for the existence of such a strong solution u. In particular, if , , then any weak solution u in the usual sense does not satisfy Serrin’s condition for each 0 < T ≤ ∞.   相似文献

In this paper we rule out the possibility of asymptotically self-similar singularities for both of the 3D Euler and the 3D Navier–Stokes equations. The notion means that the local in time classical solutions of the equations develop self-similar profiles as t goes to the possible time of singularity T. For the Euler equations we consider the case where the vorticity converges to the corresponding self-similar voriticity profile in the sense of the critical Besov space norm, . For the Navier–Stokes equations the convergence of the velocity to the self-similar singularity is in L q (B(z,r)) for some , where the ball of radius r is shrinking toward a possible singularity point z at the order of as t approaches to T. In the convergence case with we present a simple alternative proof of the similar result in Hou and Li in arXiv-preprint, math.AP/0603126. A maximal surface with isolated singularities in a complete flat Lorentzian 3-manifold
is said to be entire if it lifts to a (periodic) entire multigraph in . In addition, is called of finite type if it has finite topology, finitely many singular points and is a finitely sheeted multigraph. Complete (or proper) maximal immersions with isolated singularities in are entire, and entire embedded maximal surfaces in with a finite number of singularities are of finite type. We classify complete flat Lorentzian 3-manifolds carrying entire maximal surfaces of finite type, and deal with the topology, Weierstrass representation and asymptotic behavior of this kind of surfaces. Finally, we construct new examples of periodic entire embedded maximal surfaces in with fundamental piece having finitely many singularities.   相似文献

We prove some new a priori estimates for H 2-convex functions which are zero on the boundary of a bounded smooth domain Ω in a Carnot group . Such estimates are global and are geometric in nature as they involve the horizontal mean curvature of ∂Ω. Laguerre geometry of surfaces in is given in the book of Blaschke [Vorlesungen über Differentialgeometrie, Springer, Berlin Heidelberg New York (1929)], and has been studied by Musso and Nicolodi [Trans. Am. Math. soc. 348, 4321–4337 (1996); Abh. Math. Sem. Univ. Hamburg 69, 123–138 (1999); Int. J. Math. 11(7), 911–924 (2000)], Palmer [Remarks on a variation problem in Laguerre geometry. Rendiconti di Mathematica, Serie VII, Roma, vol. 19, pp. 281–293 (1999)] and other authors. In this paper we study Laguerre differential geometry of hypersurfaces in . For any umbilical free hypersurface with non-zero principal curvatures we define a Laguerre invariant metric g on M and a Laguerre invariant self-adjoint operator : TM → TM, and show that is a complete Laguerre invariant system for hypersurfaces in with n≥ 4. We calculate the Euler–Lagrange equation for the Laguerre volume functional of Laguerre metric by using Laguerre invariants. Using the Euclidean space , the semi-Euclidean space and the degenerate space we define three Laguerre space forms , and and define the Laguerre embeddings and , analogously to what happens in the Moebius geometry where we have Moebius space forms S n , and (spaces of constant curvature) and conformal embeddings and [cf. Liu et al. in Tohoku Math. J. 53, 553–569 (2001) and Wang in Manuscr. Math. 96, 517–534 (1998)]. Using these Laguerre embeddings we can unify the Laguerre geometry of hypersurfaces in , and . In this paper we establish a general weighted L q -theory of the Stokes operator in the whole space, the half space and a bounded domain for general Muckenhoupt weights . We show weighted L q -estimates for the Stokes resolvent system in bounded domains for general Muckenhoupt weights. These weighted resolvent estimates imply not only that the Stokes operator generates a bounded analytic semigroup but even yield the maximal L p -regularity of in the respective weighted L q -spaces for arbitrary Muckenhoupt weights . This conclusion is archived by combining a recent characterisation of maximal L p -regularity by -bounded families due to Weis [Operator-valued Fourier multiplier theorems and maximal L p -regularity. We verify that if the zero set of WE has several isolated points x i () near which WE is almost exponentially flat with approximately the same behavior, then for h > 0 small enough, there exists, for any integer k, , a standing wave solution which concentrates simultaneously on , where is any given subset of . By Nash–Gromov implicit function theorem is infinitesimally invertible over the space of free maps. In this paper we study non-free isometric immersions .
