We present a shifted skew-symmetric iteration method for solving the nonsymmetric positive definite or positive semidefinite linear complementarity problems. This method is based on the symmetric and skew-symmetric splitting of the system matrix, which has been adopted to establish efficient splitting iteration methods for solving the nonsymmetric systems of linear equations. Global convergence of the method is proved, and the corresponding inexact splitting iteration scheme is established and analyzed in detail. Numerical results show that the new methods are feasible and effective for solving large sparse and nonsymmetric linear complementarity problems.  相似文献

Bai has recently presented a modulus-based matrix splitting iteration method, which is a powerful alternative for solving the large sparse linear complementarity problems. In this paper, we further present a two-step modulus-based matrix splitting iteration method, which consists of a forward and a backward sweep. Its convergence theory is proved when the system matrix is an H  + -matrix. Moreover, for the two-step modulus-based relaxation iteration methods, more exact convergence domains are obtained without restriction on the Jacobi matrix associated with the system matrix, which improve the existing convergence theory. Numerical results show that the two-step modulus-based relaxation iteration methods are superior to the modulus-based relaxation iteration methods for solving the large sparse linear complementarity problems.  相似文献

Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting(HSS) method has been proved quite successfully in solving large sparse non-Hermitian positive definite systems of linear equations. Recently, by making use of HSS method as inner iteration, Newton-HSS method for solving the systems of nonlinear equations with non-Hermitian positive definite Jacobian matrices has been proposed by Bai and Guo. It has shown that the Newton-HSS method outperforms the Newton-USOR and the Newton-GMRES iteration methods. In this paper, a class of modified Newton-HSS methods for solving large systems of nonlinear equations is discussed. In our method, the modified Newton method with R-order of convergence three at least is used to solve the nonlinear equations, and the HSS method is applied to approximately solve the Newton equations. For this class of inexact Newton methods, local and semilocal convergence theorems are proved under suitable conditions. Moreover, a globally convergent modified Newton-HSS method is introduced and a basic global convergence theorem is proved. Numerical results are given to confirm the effectiveness of our method.  相似文献

A smoothing inexact Newton method for nonlinear complementarity problems   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this article, we propose a new smoothing inexact Newton algorithm for solving nonlinear complementarity problems (NCP) base on the smoothed Fischer-Burmeister function. In each iteration, the corresponding linear system is solved only approximately. The global convergence and local superlinear convergence are established without strict complementarity assumption at the NCP solution. Preliminary numerical results indicate that the method is effective for large-scale NCP.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a convergence analysis of the inexact Newton method for solving Discrete-time algebraic Riccati equations (DAREs) for large and sparse systems. The inexact Newton method requires, at each iteration, the solution of a symmetric Stein matrix equation. These linear matrix equations are solved approximatively by the alternating directions implicit (ADI) or Smith?s methods. We give some new matrix identities that will allow us to derive new theoretical convergence results for the obtained inexact Newton sequences. We show that under some necessary conditions the approximate solutions satisfy some desired properties such as the d-stability. The theoretical results developed in this paper are an extension to the discrete case of the analysis performed by Feitzinger et al. (2009) [8] for the continuous-time algebraic Riccati equations. In the last section, we give some numerical experiments.  相似文献

We present an inexact multisplitting method for solving the linear complementarity problems, which is based on the inexact splitting method and the multisplitting method. This new method provides a specific realization for the multisplitting method and generalizes many existing matrix splitting methods for linear complementarity problems. Convergence for this new method is proved when the coefficient matrix is an H+H+-matrix. Then, two specific iteration forms for this inexact multisplitting method are presented, where the inner iterations are implemented either through a matrix splitting method or through a damped Newton method. Convergence properties for both these specific forms are analyzed, where the system matrix is either an H+H+-matrix or a symmetric matrix.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to globally convergent methods for solving large sparse systems of nonlinear equations with an inexact approximation of the Jacobian matrix. These methods include difference versions of the Newton method and various quasi-Newton methods. We propose a class of trust region methods together with a proof of their global convergence and describe an implementable globally convergent algorithm which can be used as a realization of these methods. Considerable attention is concentrated on the application of conjugate gradient-type iterative methods to the solution of linear subproblems. We prove that both the GMRES and the smoothed COS well-preconditioned methods can be used for the construction of globally convergent trust region methods. The efficiency of our algorithm is demonstrated computationally by using a large collection of sparse test problems.  相似文献

Inexact Newton methods for the nonlinear complementarity problem   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
An exact Newton method for solving a nonlinear complementarity problem consists of solving a sequence of linear complementarity subproblems. For problems of large size, solving the subproblems exactly can be very expensive. In this paper we study inexact Newton methods for solving the nonlinear, complementarity problem. In such an inexact method, the subproblems are solved only up to a certain degree of accuracy. The necessary accuracies that are needed to preserve the nice features of the exact Newton method are established and analyzed. We also discuss some extensions as well as an application. The matrix multisplitting iteration method is an effective tool for solving large sparse linear complementarity problems. However, at each iteration step we have to solve a sequence of linear complementarity sub-problems exactly. In this paper, we present a two-stage multisplitting iteration method, in which the modulus-based matrix splitting iteration and its relaxed variants are employed as inner iterations to solve the linear complementarity sub-problems approximately. The convergence theorems of these two-stage multisplitting iteration methods are established. Numerical experiments show that the two-stage multisplitting relaxation methods are superior to the matrix multisplitting iteration methods in computing time, and can achieve a satisfactory parallel efficiency.  相似文献

Asynchronous parallel multisplitting relaxation methods for solving large sparse linear complementarity problems are presented, and their convergence is proved when the system matrices are H-matrices having positive diagonal elements. Moreover, block and multi-parameter variants of the new methods, together with their convergence properties, are investigated in detail. Numerical results show that these new methods can achieve high parallel efficiency for solving the large sparse linear complementarity problems on multiprocessor systems.  相似文献

Inexact Interior-Point Method   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
In this paper, we introduce an inexact interior-point algorithm for a constrained system of equations. The formulation of the problem is quite general and includes nonlinear complementarity problems of various kinds. In our convergence theory, we interpret the inexact interior-point method as an inexact Newton method. This enables us to establish a global convergence theory for the proposed algorithm. Under the additional assumption of the invertibility of the Jacobian at the solution, the superlinear convergence of the iteration sequence is proved.  相似文献

Preconditioned modified Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting (PMHSS) method is an unconditionally convergent iteration method for solving large sparse complex symmetric systems of linear equation. Motivated by the PMHSS method, we develop a new method of solving a class of linear equations with block two-by-two complex coefficient matrix by introducing two coefficients, noted as DPMHSS. By making use of the DPMHH iteration as the inner solver to approximately solve the Newton equations, we establish modified Newton-DPMHSS (MN-DPMHSS) method for solving large systems of nonlinear equations. We analyze the local convergence properties under the Hölder continuous conditions, which is weaker than Lipschitz assumptions. Numerical results are given to confirm the effectiveness of our method.  相似文献

We present a Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting (HSS) iteration method for solving large sparse continuous Sylvester equations with non-Hermitian and positive definite/semi-definite matrices. The unconditional convergence of the HSS iteration method is proved and an upper bound on the convergence rate is derived. Moreover, to reduce the computing cost, we establish an inexact variant of the HSS iteration method and analyze its convergence property in detail. Numerical results show that the HSS iteration method and its inexact variant are efficient and robust solvers for this class of continuous Sylvester equations.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a preconditioned general modulus-based matrix splitting iteration method for solving modulus equations arising from linear complementarity problems. Its convergence theory is proved when the system matrix is an H+-matrix, from which some new convergence conditions can be derived for the (general) modulus-based matrix splitting iteration methods. Numerical results further show that the proposed methods are superior to the existing methods.  相似文献

For solving the large sparse linear complementarity problems, we establish modified modulus‐based matrix splitting iteration methods and present the convergence analysis when the system matrices are H+‐matrices. The optima of parameters involved under some scopes are also analyzed. Numerical results show that in computing efficiency, our new methods are superior to classical modulus‐based matrix splitting iteration methods under suitable conditions. The Newton method and the inexact Newton method for solving quasidifferentiable equations via the quasidifferential are investigated. The notion of Q-semismoothness for a quasidifferentiable function is proposed. The superlinear convergence of the Newton method proposed by Zhang and Xia is proved under the Q-semismooth assumption. An inexact Newton method is developed and its linear convergence is shown.Project sponsored by Shanghai Education Committee Grant 04EA01 and by Shanghai Government Grant T0502.  相似文献
