In this paper we give an effective criterion as to when a prime number p is the order of an automorphism of a smooth cubic hypersurface of \({\mathbb{P}^{n+1}}\), for a fixed n ≥ 2. We also provide a computational method to classify all such hypersurfaces that admit an automorphism of prime order p. In particular, we show that p < 2 n+1 and that any such hypersurface admitting an automorphism of order p > 2 n is isomorphic to the Klein n-fold. We apply our method to compute exhaustive lists of automorphism of prime order of smooth cubic threefolds and fourfolds. Finally, we provide an application to the moduli space of principally polarized abelian varieties.  相似文献

In this paper, the so-called(p, φ)-Carleson measure is introduced and the relationship between vector-valued martingales in the general Campanato spaces Lp,φ(X) and the(p, φ)-Carleson measures is investigated. Specifically, it is proved that for q ∈ [2, ∞), the measure dμ := ||dfk||~qdP ? dm is a(q, φ)-Carleson measure on ? × N for every f ∈ L_q,φ(X)if and only if X has an equivalent norm which is q-uniformly convex; while for p ∈(1, 2], the measure dμ :=||dfk||~pdP ? dm is a(p, φ)-Carleson measure on ? × N implies that f ∈ L_p,φ(X)if and only if X admits an equivalent norm which is p-uniformly smooth. This result extends an earlier result in the literature from BMO spaces to general Campanato spaces.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a (p × q)-matrix X = (X 1, ..., X q ), where a pq-vector vec (X) = (X 1 T , ...,X q T ) T is assumed to be distributed normally with mean vector vec (M) = (M 1 T , ...,M q T ) T and a positive definite covariance matrix Λ. Suppose that Λ follows a Kronecker product covariance structure, that is Λ = Φ?Σ, where Φ = (? ij ) is a (q × q)-matrix and Σ = (σ ij ) is a (p × p)-matrix and the matrices Φ, Σ are positive definite. Such a model is considered in [4], where the maximum likelihood estimates of the parameters M, Φ, Σ are obtained. Using S. N. Roy’s technique (see, e.g., [3]) of the multivariate statistical analysis, we obtain consistent and unbiased estimates of M, Φ, Σ as in [4], but with less calculations.  相似文献

Consider these two types of positive square-free integers d≠ 1 for which the class number h of the quadratic field Q(√d) is odd: (1) d is prime∈ 1(mod 8), or d=2q where q is prime ≡ 3 (mod 4), or d=qr where q and r are primes such that q≡ 3 (mod 8) and r≡ 7 (mod 8); (2) d is prime ≡ 1 (mod 8), or d=qr where q and r are primes such that qr≡ 3 or 7 (mod 8). For d of type (2) (resp. (1)), let Π be the set of all primes (resp. odd primes) pN satisfying (d/p) = 1. Also, let δ :=0 (resp. δ :=1) if d≡ 2,3 (mod 4) (resp. d≡ 1 (mod 4)). Then the following are equivalent: (a) h=1; (b) For every p∈П at least one of the two Pellian equations Z 2-dY 2 = ±4δ p is solvable in integers. (c) For every p∈П the Pellian equation W 2-dV 2 = 4δ p 2 has a solution (w,v) in integers such that gcd (w,v) divides 2δ.  相似文献

R. Hill and P. Lizak (1995, in “Proc. IEEE Int. Symposium on Inform. Theory, Whistler, Canada,” pp. 345) proved that every [n, k, d]q code with gcd(d, q)=1 and with all weights congruent to 0 or d (modulo q) is extendable to an [n+1, k, d+1]q code with all weights congruent to 0 or d+1 (modulo q). We give another elementary geometrical proof of this theorem, which also yields the uniqueness of the extension.  相似文献

In this paper, the linear isometry of the sequence space l(pv) into itself is specified as the automorphism of l(pv) onto itself, when (pv) satisfies the conditions, (i) 0 < pv? 1, (ii) 1 +d ? pv ? p < ∞,q < qv < 1+d/d,d > o When (pv) satisfies condition (ii),l (pv) andl (qv) are proved to be perfect spaces in the sense of Kothe and Toeplitz. A similar result connecting linear isometry and automorphism has been noted in the case of a non-normable complete linear metric space whose conjugate space is also determined.  相似文献

The main result of this paper is that point sets of PG(n, q 3), q = p h , p ≥ 7 prime, of size less than 3(q 3(n?k) + 1)/2 intersecting each k-space in 1 modulo q points (these are always small minimal blocking sets with respect to k-spaces) are linear blocking sets. As a consequence, we get that minimal blocking sets of PG(n, p 3), p ≥ 7 prime, of size less than 3(p 3(n?k) + 1)/2 with respect to k-spaces are linear. We also give a classification of small linear blocking sets of PG(n, q 3) which meet every (n ? 2)-space in 1 modulo q points.  相似文献

Let p be an odd prime. In this paper, a complete classification of all positive integer solutions (x, y, m, n) of the equation x 2+p 2m = y n , gcd(x, y) = 1, n > 2, is given. As a consequence, we solve the equation for certain interesting cases.  相似文献

Let V be an n-dimensional vector space over Fq. Let Φ be a Hermitian form with respect to an automorphism σ with σ2 = 1. If σ = 1 assume that q is odd. Let A be the arrangement of hyperplanes of V which are non-isotropic with respect to Φ, and let L be the intersection lattice of A. We prove that the characteristic polynomial of L has n ? v roots 1, q,…, qn ? v? 1 where v is the Witt index of Φ.  相似文献

An acyclic edge coloring of a graph is a proper edge coloring such that there are no bichromatic (2-colored) cycles. The acyclic chromatic index of a graph is the minimum number k such that there is an acyclic edge coloring using k colors and is denoted by a(G). Let Δ=Δ(G) denote the maximum degree of a vertex in a graph G. A complete bipartite graph with n vertices on each side is denoted by Kn,n. Alon, McDiarmid and Reed observed that a(Kp−1,p−1)=p for every prime p. In this paper we prove that a(Kp,p)≤p+2=Δ+2 when p is prime. Basavaraju, Chandran and Kummini proved that a(Kn,n)≥n+2=Δ+2 when n is odd, which combined with our result implies that a(Kp,p)=p+2=Δ+2 when p is an odd prime. Moreover we show that if we remove any edge from Kp,p, the resulting graph is acyclically Δ+1=p+1-edge-colorable.  相似文献

Two rational numbers r and r′ are said to be similarly ordered if r = a/q, r′ = a′/q′, gcd(a, q) = gcd(a′, q′) = 1, and (a − a′) (qq′) ? 0. We investigate the problem of similar ordering of chains of consecutive Farey fractions.  相似文献

Let A(n) be the largest absolute value of any coefficient of n-th cyclotomic polynomial Φn(x).We say Φn(x) is flat if A(n) = 1.In this paper,for odd primes p q r and 2r ≡ 1(mod pq),we prove that Φpqr(x) is flat if and only if p = 3 and q ≡ 1(mod 3).  相似文献

Let ?, ? be the sets of all integers and positive integers, respectively. Let p be a fixed odd prime. Recently, there have been many papers concerned with solutions (x, y, n, a, b) of the equation x 2 + 2 a p b = y n , x, y, n ε ?, gcd(x, y) = 1, n ? 3, a, b ε ?, a ? 0, b ? 0. And all solutions of it have been determined for the cases p = 3, p = 5, p = 11 and p = 13. In this paper, we mainly concentrate on the case p = 3, and using certain recent results on exponential diophantine equations including the famous Catalan equation, all solutions (x, y, n, a, b) of the equation x 2+2 a · 17 b = y n , x, y, n ε ?, gcd(x, y) = 1, n ? 3, a, b ∈ ?, a ? 0, b ? 0, are determined.  相似文献

We consider proper Klein surfaces X of algebraic genus p ≥ 2, having an automorphism φ of prime order n with quotient space X/(φ) of algebraic genus q. These Klein surfaces axe called q-n-gonal surfaces and they are n-sheeted covers of surfaces of algebraic genus q. In this paper we extend the results of the already studied cases n ≤ 3 to this more general situation. Given p ≥ 2, we obtain, for each prime n, the (admissible) values q for which there exists a q-n-gonal surface of algebraic genus p. Furthermore, for each p and for each admissible q, it is possible to check all topological types of q-n-gonal surfaces with algebraic genus p. Several examples are given: q-pentagonal surfaces and q-n-gonal bordered surfaces with topological genus g = 0, 1.  相似文献

If a linear graph is imbedded in a surface to form a map, then the map has a group of automorphisms which is a subgroup (usually, a proper subgroup) of the automorphism group of the graph. In this note it will be shown that, for any imbedding of Kn in an orientable surface, the order of the automorphism group of the resulting map is a divisor of n(n − 1), and that the order equals n(n − 1) if and only if n is a prime power. The explicit construction of imbeddings of KQ, q = pm with map automorphism group of order q(q − 1) gives rise to new types of regular map. There are also tenous connections with the theory of Frobenius groups.  相似文献

Let F1(x, y),…, F2h+1(x, y) be the representatives of equivalent classes of positive definite binary quadratic forms of discriminant ?q (q is a prime such that q ≡ 3 mod 4) with integer coefficients, then the number of integer solutions of Fi(x, y) = n (i = 1,…, 2h + 1) can be calculated for each natural number n using L-functions of imaginary quadratic field Q((?q)1/2).  相似文献

The set Vkn of all n-tuples (x1, x2,…, xn) with xi?, Zk is considered. The problem treated in this paper is determining σ(n, k), the minimum size of a set W ? Vkn such that for each x in Vkn, there is an element in W that differs from x in at most one coordinate. By using a new constructive method, it is shown that σ(n, p) ? (p ? t + 1)pn?r, where p is a prime and n = 1 + t(pr?1 ? 1)(p ? 1) for some integers t and r. The same method also gives σ(7, 3) ? 216. Another construction gives the inequality σ(n, kt) ? σ(n, k)tn?1 which implies that σ(q + 1, qt) = qq?1tq when q is a prime power. By proving another inequality σ(np + 1, p) ? σ(n, p)pn(p?1), σ(10, 3) ? 5 · 36 and σ(16, 5) ? 13 · 512 are obtained.  相似文献

We establish the theory of Orlicz-Hardy spaces generated by a wide class of functions. The class will be wider than the class of all the N-functions.In particular,we consider the non-smooth atomic decomposition. The relation between Orlicz-Hardy spaces and their duals is also studied. As an application, duality of Hardy spaces with variable exponents is revisited. This work is different from earlier works about Orlicz-Hardy spaces H(Rn)in that the class of admissible functions is largely widened. We can deal with, for example,(r)≡(rp1(log(e+1/r))q1,0r 6 1,rp2(log(e+r))q2,r1,with p1,p2∈(0,∞)and q1,q2∈(.∞,∞),where we shall establish the boundedness of the Riesz transforms on H(Rn).In particular,is neither convex nor concave when 0p11p2∞,0p21p1∞or p1=p2=1 and q1,q20.If(r)≡r(log(e+r))q,then H(Rn)=H(logH)q(Rn).We shall also establish the boundedness of the fractional integral operators I of order∈(0,∞).For example,I is shown to be bounded from H(logH)1./n(Rn)to Ln/(n.)(log L)(Rn)for 0n.  相似文献

A distance matrix D of order n is symmetric with elements ?12dij2, where dii=0. D is Euclidean when the 12n(n?1) quantities dij can be generated as the distances between a set of n points, X (n×p), in a Euclidean space of dimension p. The dimensionality of D is defined as the least value of p=rank(X) of any generating X; in general p+1 and p+2 are also acceptable but may include imaginary coordinates, even when D is Euclidean. Basic properties of Euclidean distance matrices are established; in particular, when ρ=rank(D) it is shown that, depending on whether eTD?e is not or is zero, the generating points lie in either p=ρ?1 dimensions, in which case they lie on a hypersphere, or in p=ρ?2 dimensions, in which case they do not. (The notation e is used for a vector all of whose values are one.) When D is non-Euclidean its dimensionality p=r+s will comprise r real and s imaginary columns of X, and (r, s) are invariant for all generating X of minimal rank. Higher-ranking representations can arise only from p+1=(r+1)+s or p+1=r+ (s+1) or p+2=(r+1)+(s+1), so that not only are r, s invariant, but they are both minimal for all admissible representations X.  相似文献

Let (X, d) be a locally compact separable ultrametric space. We assume that (X, d) is proper, that is, any closed ball B?X is a compact set. Given a measure m on X and a function C(B) defined on the set of balls (the choice function) we define the hierarchical Laplacian L C which is closely related to the concept of the hierarchical lattice of F.J. Dyson. L C is a non-negative definite self-adjoint operator in L 2(X, m). In this paper we address the following question: How general can be the spectrum \(\mathsf {Spec}(L_{C})\subseteq \mathbb {R}_{+}?\) When (X, d) is compact, S p e c(L C ) is an increasing sequence of eigenvalues of finite multiplicity which contains 0. Assuming that (X, d) is not compact we show that under some natural conditions concerning the structure of the hierarchical lattice (≡ the tree of d-balls) any given closed subset S ? ?+, which contains 0 as an accumulation point and is unbounded if X is non-discrete, may appear as S p e c(L C ) for some appropriately chosen function C(B). The operator ?L C extends to L q (X, m), 1 ≦ q < , as Markov generator and its spectrum does not depend on q. As an example, we consider the operator ?? α of fractional derivative defined on the field ? p of p-adic numbers.  相似文献
