The present paper studies the following constrained vector optimization problem: min  C f(x), g(x)∈−K, h(x)=0, where f:ℝ n →ℝ m , g:ℝ n →ℝ p and h:ℝ n →ℝ q are locally Lipschitz functions and C⊂ℝ m , K⊂ℝ p are closed convex cones. In terms of the Dini set-valued directional derivative, first-order necessary and first-order sufficient conditions are obtained for a point x 0 to be a w-minimizer (weakly efficient point) or an i-minimizer (isolated minimizer of order 1). It is shown that, under natural assumptions (given by a nonsmooth variant of the implicit function theorem for the equality constraints), the obtained conditions improve some given by Clarke and Craven. Further comparison is done with some recent results of Khanh, Tuan and of Jiiménez, Novo.  相似文献

Initially, second-order necessary optimality conditions and sufficient optimality conditions in terms of Hadamard type derivatives for the unconstrained scalar optimization problem ϕ(x) → min, x ∈ ℝ m , are given. These conditions work with arbitrary functions ϕ: ℝ m → ℝ, but they show inconsistency with the classical derivatives. This is a base to pose the question whether the formulated optimality conditions remain true when the “inconsistent” Hadamard derivatives are replaced with the “consistent” Dini derivatives. It is shown that the answer is affirmative if ϕ is of class (i.e., differentiable with locally Lipschitz derivative). Further, considering functions, the discussion is raised to unconstrained vector optimization problems. Using the so called “oriented distance” from a point to a set, we generalize to an arbitrary ordering cone some second-order necessary conditions and sufficient conditions given by Liu, Neittaanmaki, Krizek for a polyhedral cone. Furthermore, we show that the conditions obtained are sufficient not only for efficiency but also for strict efficiency.  相似文献

We review a cochain-free treatment of the classical van Kampen obstruction ϑ to embeddability of an n-polyhedron in ℝ2n and consider several analogs and generalizations of ϑ, including an extraordinary lift of ϑ, which has been studied by J.-P. Dax in the manifold case. The following results are obtained: (1) The mod 2 reduction of ϑ is incomplete, which answers a question of Sarkaria. (2) An odd-dimensional analog of ϑ is a complete obstruction to linkless embeddability (=“intrinsic unlinking”) of a given n-polyhedron in ℝ2n+1. (3) A “blown-up” one-parameter version of ϑ is a universal type 1 invariant of singular knots, i.e., knots in ℝ3 with a finite number of rigid transverse double points. We use it to decide in simple homological terms when a given integer-valued type 1 invariant of singular knots admits an integral arrow diagram (= Polyak-Viro) formula. (4) Settling a problem of Yashchenko in the metastable range, we find that every PL manifold N nonembeddable in a given ℝ m , m ≥ $ \frac{{3(n + 1)}} {2} $ \frac{{3(n + 1)}} {2} , contains a subset X such that no map N → ℝ m sends X and N \ X to disjoint sets. (5) We elaborate on McCrory’s analysis of the Zeeman spectral sequence to geometrically characterize “k-co-connected and locally k-co-connected” polyhedra, which we embed in ℝ2 nk for k < $ \frac{{n - 3}} {2} $ \frac{{n - 3}} {2} , thus extending the Penrose-Whitehead-Zeeman theorem.  相似文献

We consider small perturbations with respect to a small parameter ε≥0 of a smooth vector field in ℝn+m possessing an invariant torusT m. The flow on the torusT m is assumed to be quasiperiodic withm basic frequencies satisfying certain conditions of Diophantine type; the matrix Ω of the variational equation with respect to the invariant torus is assumed to be constant. We investigate the existence problem for invariant tori of different dimensions for the case in which Ω is a nonsingular matrix that can have purely imaginary eigenvalues. We study certain square functions on product spaces Rn × Rm, whose integral kernels are obtained from kernels which are homogeneous in each factor Rn and Rm and locally in L(log L) away from Rn × {0} and {0} × Rm by means of polynomial distortions in the radial variable. As a model case, we obtain that the Marcinkiewicz integral operator is bounded on Lp(Rn × Rm)(P > 1) for Ω∈ e Llog L(Sn-1 × Sm-1) satisfying the cancellation condition.  相似文献

We prove that each translation and dilation invariant subspace X ⊂ L p (ℝn), X ≠ L p (ℝn), is contained in a maximal translation and dilation invariant subspace of L p (ℝn). Moreover, we prove that the set of all maximal translation and dilation invariant subspaces of L p (ℝn) has the power of continuum. On a Riemannian manifold $ \bar M^{m + n} $ \bar M^{m + n} with an (m + 1)-calibration Ω, we prove that an m-submanifold M with constant mean curvature H and calibrated extended tangent space ℝHTM is a critical point of the area functional for variations that preserve the enclosed Ω-volume. This recovers the case described by Barbosa, do Carmo and Eschenburg, when n = 1 and Ω is the volume element of $ \bar M $ \bar M . To the second variation we associate an Ω-Jacobi operator and define Ω-stability. Under natural conditions, we show that the Euclidean m-spheres are the unique Ω-stable submanifolds of ℝ m+n . We study the Ω-stability of geodesic m-spheres of a fibred space form M m+n with totally geodesic (m + 1)-dimensional fibres.  相似文献

We find necessary and sufficient conditions for a curve in ℝ m×n to be the gradient range of a C 1-smooth function υ: Ω ⊂ ℝ n → ℝ m . We show that this curve has tangents in a weak sense; these tangents are rank 1 matrices and their directions constitute a function of bounded variation. We prove also that in this case v satisfies an analog of Sard’s theorem, while the level sets of the gradient mapping ▿υ: Ω → ℝ m×n are hyperplanes.  相似文献

If Y is a subset of the space ℝn × ℝn, we call a pair of continuous functions U, V Y-compatible, if they map the space ℝn into itself and satisfy Ux · Vy ≥ 0, for all (x, y) ∈ Y with x · y ≥ 0. (Dot denotes inner product.) In this paper a nonlinear two point boundary value problem for a second order ordinary differential n-dimensional system is investigated, provided the boundary conditions are given via a pair of compatible mappings. By using a truncation of the initial equation and restrictions of its domain, Brouwer's fixed point theorem is applied to the composition of the consequent mapping with some projections and a one-parameter family of fixed points P δ is obtained. Then passing to the limits as δ tends to zero the so-obtained accumulation points are solutions of the problem.  相似文献

In this paper we establish a discrete Calderón’s identity which converges in both L q (ℝ n+m ) (1<q<∞) and Hardy space H p (ℝ n ×ℝ m ) (0<p≤1). Based on this identity, we derive a new atomic decomposition into (p,q)-atoms (1<q<∞) on H p (ℝ n ×ℝ m ) for 0<p≤1. As an application, we prove that an operator T, which is bounded on L q (ℝ n+m ) for some 1<q<∞, is bounded from H p (ℝ n ×ℝ m ) to L p (ℝ n+m ) if and only if T is bounded uniformly on all (p,q)-product atoms in L p (ℝ n+m ). The similar result from H p (ℝ n ×ℝ m ) to H p (ℝ n ×ℝ m ) is also obtained.  相似文献

In this article, we derive a formula for the Moore-Penrose inverse of M * M and obtain sufficient conditions for its nonnegativity. The results presented here generalize the ones known earlier. The paper deals with the properties of the exterior algebra ℝ(Λn) related to the Euclidean structure on ℝ(Λn) induced by the scalar product in ℝ(Λn). A geometric interpretation of inner multiplication for simple p-vectors is given. An invariant form of the Cartan criterion for the simplicity of a p-vector is given. The Plücker model realizing the real Grassmann manifold as a submanifold of the Euclidean space ℝ(Λn), and an isometry of this submanifold onto the classical Grassmann manifold with SO(n)-invariant metric are described. We show that the least area required to enclose two volumes in ℝn orS n forn ≥ 3 is a strictly concave function of the two volumes. We deduce that minimal double bubbles in ℝn have no empty chambers, and we show that the enclosed regions are connected in some cases. We give consequences for the structure of minimal double bubbles in ℝn. We also prove a general symmetry theorem for minimal enclosures ofm volumes in ℝn, based on an idea due to Brian White. The Ruelle Sullivan map for an ℝn-action on a compact metric space with invariant probability measure is a graded homomorphism between the integer Cech cohomology of the space and the exterior algebra of the dual of ℝn. We investigate flows on tori to illuminate that it detects geometrical structure of the system. For actions arising from Delone sets of finite local complexity, the existence of canonical transversals and a formulation in terms of pattern equivariant functions lead to the result that the Ruelle Sullivan map is even a ring homomorphism provided the measure is ergodic.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the problem of finding zeroes of a continuous functionf from a convex, compact subsetU of ℝ n to ℝ n . In the first part of the paper it is proved thatf has a computable zero iff:C n →ℝ n satisfies the nonparallel condition for any two antipodal points on bdC n, i.e. if for anyx∈bdC n ,f(x)≠αf(−x), α≥0, holds. Therefore we describe a simplicial algorithm to approximate such a zero. It is shown that generally the degree of the approximate zero depends on the number of reflection steps made by the algorithm, i.e. the number of times the algorithm switches from a face τ on bdC n to the face −τ. Therefore the index of a terminal simplex σ is defined which equals the local Brouwer degree of the function if σ is full-dimensional. In the second part of the paper the algorithm is used to generate possibly several approximate zeroes off. Two sucessive solutions may have both the same or opposite degrees, again depending on the number of reflection steps. By extendingf:U→ℝ n to a function g from a cube containingU to ℝ n , the procedure can be applied to any continuous functionf without having any information about the global and local Brouwer degrees a priori.  相似文献

We show that in the worst case, Ω(n d ) sidedness queries are required to determine whether a set ofn points in ℝ d is affinely degenerate, i.e., whether it containsd+1 points on a common hyperplane. This matches known upper bounds. We give a straightforward adversary argument, based on the explicit construction of a point set containing Ω(n d ) “collapsible” simplices, any one of which can be made degenerate without changing the orientation of any other simplex. As an immediate corollary, we have an Ω(n d ) lower bound on the number of sidedness queries required to determine the order type of a set ofn points in ℝ d . Using similar techniques, we also show that Ω(n d+1) in-sphere queries are required to decide the existence of spherical degeneracies in a set ofn points in ℝ d .
