In this note, we show that if X is the union of a finite collection of strong Σ-spaces, then X is a D-space. As a corollary, we get a conclusion that if X is the union of a finite collection of Moore spaces, then X is a D-space. This gives a positive answer to one of Arhangel'skii's problems [A.V. Arhangel'skii, D-spaces and finite unions, Proc. AMS 132 (7) (2004) 2163-2170]. In the last part of the note, we show that if X is the union of a finite collection of DC-like spaces, then X is a D-space, where DC is the class of all discrete unions of compact spaces. As a corollary, we show that if X is the union of a finite collection of regular subparacompact C-scattered spaces, then X is a D-space.  相似文献

We show that metrizability and bounded tightness are actually equivalent for a large class of locally convex spaces including (LF)-spaces, (DF)-spaces, the space of distributions D′(Ω), etc. A consequence of this fact is that for the bounded tightness for the weak topology of X is equivalent to the following one: X is linearly homeomorphic to a subspace of . This nicely supplements very recent results of Cascales and Raja. Moreover, we show that a metric space X is separable if the space Cp(X) has bounded tightness.  相似文献

For the steady-state solution of an integral-differential equation from a two-dimensional model in transport theory, we shall derive and study a nonsymmetric algebraic Riccati equation B--XF--F+X+XB+X=0, where , and with a nonnegative matrix P, positive diagonal matrices D±, and nonnegative parameters f, and . We prove the existence of the minimal nonnegative solution X under the physically reasonable assumption , and study its numerical computation by fixed-point iteration, Newton’s method and doubling. We shall also study several special cases; e.g. when and P is low-ranked, then is low-ranked and can be computed using more efficient iterative processes in U and V. Numerical examples will be given to illustrate our theoretical results.  相似文献

The (pointed) coarse shape category Sh* (), having (pointed) topological spaces as objects and having the (pointed) shape category as a subcategory, was recently constructed. Its isomorphisms classify (pointed) topological spaces strictly coarser than the (pointed) shape type classification. In this paper we introduce a new algebraic coarse shape invariant which is an invariant of shape and homotopy, as well. For every pointed space (X,?) and for every kN0, the coarse shape group , having the standard shape group for its subgroup, is defined. Furthermore, a functor is constructed. The coarse shape and shape groups already differ on the class of polyhedra. An explicit formula for computing coarse shape groups of polyhedra is given. The coarse shape groups give us more information than the shape groups. Generally, does not imply (e.g. for solenoids), but from pro-πk(X,?)=0 follows . Moreover, for pointed metric compacta (X,?), the n-shape connectedness is characterized by , for every k?n.  相似文献

A graph X is called almost self-complementary if it is isomorphic to one of its almost complements , where denotes the complement of X and I a perfect matching (1-factor) in . If I is a perfect matching in and is an isomorphism, then the graph X is said to be fairly almost self-complementary if φ preserves I setwise, and unfairly almost self-complementary if it does not.In this paper we construct connected graphs of all possible orders that are fairly and unfairly almost self-complementary, fairly but not unfairly almost self-complementary, and unfairly but not fairly almost self-complementary, respectively, as well as regular graphs of all possible orders that are fairly and unfairly almost self-complementary.Two perfect matchings I and J in are said to be X-non-isomorphic if no isomorphism from X+I to X+J induces an automorphism of X. We give a constructive proof to show that there exists a graph X that is almost self-complementary with respect to two X-non-isomorphic perfect matchings for every even order greater than or equal to four.  相似文献

We study the set of annular non-crossing permutations of type B, and we introduce a corresponding set of annular non-crossing partitions of type B, where p and q are two positive integers. We prove that the natural bijection between and is a poset isomorphism, where the partial order on is induced from the hyperoctahedral group Bp+q, while is partially ordered by reverse refinement. In the case when q=1, we prove that is a lattice with respect to reverse refinement order. We point out that an analogous development can be pursued in type D, where one gets a canonical isomorphism between and . For q=1, the poset coincides with a poset “NC(D)(p+1)” constructed in a paper by Athanasiadis and Reiner [C.A. Athanasiadis, V. Reiner, Noncrossing partitions for the group Dn, SIAM Journal of Discrete Mathematics 18 (2004) 397-417], and is a lattice by the results of that paper.  相似文献

In this article we study the classification of non-normal cubic hypersurfaces over an algebraically closed field K of arbitrary characteristic. Let be an irreducible non-normal cubic hypersurface. If r≥5, then X is necessarily a cone (Remark 2.3). In view of this fact it suffices to classify irreducible non-normal cubic hypersurfaces for r≤4. We prove that there are precisely five non-normal cubic equations (resp. six non-normal cubic equations) when (resp. when is either 2 or 3), up to projective equivalence. Also we describe the normalization of X in detail.  相似文献

We define and investigate extension groups in the context of Arakelov geometry. The “arithmetic extension groups” we introduce are extensions by groups of analytic types of the usual extension groups attached to OX-modules F and G over an arithmetic scheme X. In this paper, we focus on the first arithmetic extension group - the elements of which may be described in terms of admissible short exact sequences of hermitian vector bundles over X - and we especially consider the case when X is an “arithmetic curve”, namely the spectrum SpecOK of the ring of integers in some number field K. Then the study of arithmetic extensions over X is related to old and new problems concerning lattices and the geometry of numbers.Namely, for any two hermitian vector bundles and over X:=SpecOK, we attach a logarithmic size to any element α of , and we give an upper bound on in terms of slope invariants of and . We further illustrate this notion by relating the sizes of restrictions to points in P1(Z) of the universal extension over to the geometry of PSL2(Z) acting on Poincaré's upper half-plane, and by deducing some quantitative results in reduction theory from our previous upper bound on sizes. Finally, we investigate the behaviour of size by base change (i.e., under extension of the ground field K to a larger number field K): when the base field K is Q, we establish that the size, which cannot increase under base change, is actually invariant when the field K is an abelian extension of K, or when is a direct sum of root lattices and of lattices of Voronoi's first kind. The appendices contain results concerning extensions in categories of sheaves on ringed spaces, and lattices of Voronoi's first kind which might also be of independent interest.  相似文献

Let k be a field with algebraic closure , G a semisimple algebraic k-group, and a maximal torus with character group X(T). Denote Λ the abstract weight lattice of the roots system of G, and by and the n-torsion subgroup of the Brauer group of k and G, respectively. We prove that if chark does not divide n and n is prime to the order of Λ/X(T) then the natural homomorphism is an isomorphism.  相似文献

In this paper, the authors prove that Besov-Morrey spaces are proper subspaces of Besov-type spaces and that Triebel-Lizorkin-Morrey spaces are special cases of Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces . The authors also establish an equivalent characterization of when τ∈[0,1/p). These Besov-type spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin-type spaces were recently introduced to connect Besov spaces and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces with Q spaces. Moreover, for the spaces and , the authors investigate their trace properties and the boundedness of the pseudo-differential operators with homogeneous symbols in these spaces, which generalize the corresponding classical results of Jawerth and Grafakos-Torres by taking τ=0.  相似文献

A real x is -Kurtz random (-Kurtz random) if it is in no closed null set ( set). We show that there is a cone of -Kurtz random hyperdegrees. We characterize lowness for -Kurtz randomness as being -dominated and -semi-traceable.  相似文献

By generalizing the method used by Tignol and Amitsur in [J.-P. Tignol, S.A. Amitsur, Kummer subfields of Malcev-Neumann division algebras, Israel Journal of Math. 50 (1985), 114-144], we determine necessary and sufficient conditions for an arbitrary central division algebra D over a Henselian valued field E to have Kummer subfields when the characteristic of the residue field of E does not divide the degree of D. We prove also that if D is a semiramified division algebra of degree n [resp., of prime power degree pr] over E such that does not divide n and [resp., and p3 divides ], then D is non-cyclic [resp., D is not an elementary abelian crossed product].  相似文献

Let X be a compact metrizable abelian group and u={un} be a sequence in its dual group X. Set su(X)={x:(un,x)→1} and . Let G be a subgroup of X. We prove that G=su(X) for some u iff it can be represented as some dually closed subgroup Gu of . In particular, su(X) is polishable. Let u={un} be a T-sequence. Denote by the group X equipped with the finest group topology in which un→0. It is proved that and . We also prove that the group generated by a Kronecker set cannot be characterized.  相似文献
