The analytical solutions of the Riemann problem for the isentropic Euler system with the logarithmic equation of state are derived explicitly for all the five different cases. The concentration and cavitation phenomena are observed and analyzed during the process of vanishing pressure in the Riemann solutions. It is shown that the solution consisting of two shock waves converges to a delta shock wave solution as well as the solution consisting of two rarefaction waves converges to a solution consisting of four contact discontinuities together with vacuum states with three different virtual velocities in the limiting situation.  相似文献

The relativistic Euler equations for a Chaplygin gas are studied. The Riemann problem is solved constructively. There are five kinds of Riemann solutions, in which four only contain different contact discontinuities and the other involves delta shock waves. Under suitable generalized Rankine-Hugoniot relation and entropy condition, the existence and uniqueness of delta-shock solutions are established.  相似文献

The formation of vacuum state and delta shock wave are observed and studied in the limits of Riemann solutions for the one-dimensional isentropic drift-flux model of compressible two-phase flows by letting the pressure in the mixture momentum equation tend to zero. It is shown that the Riemann solution containing two rarefaction waves and one contact discontinuity turns out to be the solution containing two contact discontinuities with the vacuum state between them in the limiting situation. By comparison, it is also proved rigorously in the sense of distributions that the Riemann solution containing two shock waves and one contact discontinuity converges to a delta shock wave solution under this vanishing pressure limit.  相似文献

The solutions to the Riemann problem for a nonsymmetric system of Keyfitz-Kranzer type are constructed explicitly when the initial data are located in the quarter phase plane. In particular, some singular hyperbolic waves are discovered when one of the Riemann initial data is located on the boundary of the quarter phase plane, such as the delta shock wave and some composite waves in which the contact discontinuity coincides with the shock wave or the wave back of rarefaction wave. The double Riemann problem for this system with three piecewise constant states is also considered when the delta shock wave is involved. Furthermore, the global solutions to the double Riemann problem are constructed through studying the interaction between the delta shock wave and the other elementary waves by using the method of characteristics. Some interesting nonlinear phenomena are discovered during the process of constructing solutions; for example, a delta shock wave is decomposed into a delta contact discontinuity and a shock wave.  相似文献

We present a phase decomposition approach to deal with the generalized Rankine–Hugoniot relations and then the Riemann problem for a model of two-phase flows. By investigating separately the jump relations for equations in conservative form in the solid phase, we show that the volume fractions can change only across contact discontinuities. Then, we prove that the generalized Rankine–Hugoniot relations are reduced to the usual form. It turns out that shock waves and rarefaction waves remain on one phase only, and the contact waves serve as a bridge between the two phases. By decomposing Riemann solutions into each phase, we show that Riemann solutions can be constructed for large initial data. Furthermore, the Riemann problem admits a unique solution for an appropriate choice of initial data.  相似文献

We present a global solution to a Riemann problem for the pressure gradient system of equations.The Riemann problem has initially two shock waves and two contact discontinuities. The angle between the two shock waves is set initially to be close to 180 degrees. The solution has a shock wave that is usually regarded as a free boundary in the self-similar variable plane. The paper solves analytically the Riemann problem for a nonstrictly hyperbolic system of conservation laws arising in geometrical optics,in which the flux contains the nonconvex function possessing an infinite number of inflection points.Firstly,the generalized Rankine–Hugoniot relations and entropy condition of delta shock waves and left(right)-contact delta shock waves are proposed and clarified.Secondly,with the help of the convex hull,seven kinds of structures of Riemann solutions are obtained.The solutions fall into three broad categories with a series of geometric structures involving simultaneously contact discontinuities,vacuums and delta shock waves.Finally,numerical experiments confirm the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

Further development of the dynamic adaptation method for gas dynamics problems that describe multiple interactions of shock waves, rarefaction waves, and contact discontinuities is considered. Using the Woodward-Colella problem and a nonuniformly accelerating piston as examples, the efficiency of the proposed method is demonstrated for the gas dynamics problems with shock wave and contact discontinuity tracking. The grid points are distributed under the control of the diffusion approximation. The choice of the diffusion coefficient for obtaining both quasi-uniform and strongly nonuniform grids for each subdomain of the solution is validated. The interaction between discontinuities is resolved using the Riemann problem for an arbitrary discontinuity. Application of the dynamic adaptation method to the Woodward-Colella problem made it possible to obtain a solution on a grid consisting of 420 cells that is almost identical to the solution obtained using the WENO5m method on a grid consisting of 12 800 cells. In the problem for a nonuniformly accelerating piston, a proper choice of the diffusion coefficient in the transformation functions makes it possible to generate strongly nonuniform grids, which are used to simulate the interaction of a series of shock waves using shock wave and contact discontinuity tracking.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to studying the simplified nonlinear chromatography equations by introducing the change of state variables. The Riemann solutions containing delta shock waves are presented. In order to study wave interactions of delta shock waves with elementary waves, the global structure of solutions is constructed completely when the initial data are taken as three pieces of constants and the delta shock waves are included. In particular, the strength of delta shock wave is expressed explicitly and the delta contact discontinuity is discovered during the process of wave interactions. Moreover, by analyzing the limits of the solutions as the middle region vanishes, we observe that the Riemann solutions are stable for such a local small perturbation of the Riemann initial data.  相似文献

In this paper, the author proves the global structure stability of the Lax's Riemann solution , containing only shocks and contact discontinuities, of general n×n quasilinear hyperbolic system of conservation laws. More precisely, the author proves the global existence and uniqueness of the piecewise C1 solution u=u(t,x) of a class of generalized Riemann problem, which can be regarded as a perturbation of the corresponding Riemann problem, for the quasilinear hyperbolic system of conservation laws; moreover, this solution has a global structure similar to that of the solution . Combining the results in Kong (Global structure instability of Riemann solutions of quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws: rarefaction waves, to appear), the author proves that the Lax's Riemann solution of general n×n quasilinear hyperbolic system of conservation laws is globally structurally stable if and only if it contains only non-degenerate shocks and contact discontinuities, but no rarefaction waves and other weak discontinuities.  相似文献

We investigate the zero dissipation limit problem of the one-dimensional compressible isentropic Navier-Stokes equations with Riemann initial data in the case of the composite wave of two shock waves.It is shown that the unique solution to the Navier-Stokes equations exists for all time,and converges to the Riemann solution to the corresponding Euler equations with the same Riemann initial data uniformly on the set away from the shocks,as the viscosity vanishes.In contrast to previous related works,where either the composite wave is absent or the efects of initial layers are ignored,this gives the frst mathematical justifcation of this limit for the compressible isentropic Navier-Stokes equations in the presence of both composite wave and initial layers.Our method of proof consists of a scaling argument,the construction of the approximate solution and delicate energy estimates.  相似文献

This work is a continuation of our previous work. In the present paper, we study the existence and uniqueness of global piecewise C1 solutions with shock waves to the generalized Riemann problem for general quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws with linear damping in the presence of a boundary. It is shown that the generalized Riemann problem for general quasilinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws with linear damping with nonlinear boundary conditions in the half space {(t, x) | t ≥ 0, x ≥ 0} admits a unique global piecewise C1 solution u = u (t, x) containing only shock waves with small amplitude and this solution possesses a global structure similar to that of a self‐similar solution u = U (x /t) of the corresponding homogeneous Riemann problem, if each characteristic field with positive velocity is genuinely nonlinear and the corresponding homogeneous Riemann problem has only shock waves but no rarefaction waves and contact discontinuities. In this paper, we consider the Riemann problem for a quasilinear hyperbolic system of equations governing the one dimensional unsteady simple wave flow of an isentropic, inviscid and perfectly conducting compressible fluid, subjected to a transverse magnetic field. This class of equations includes, as a special case, the equations of isentropic gasdynamics. We study the shock and rarefaction waves and their properties, and discuss the geometry of shock curves using the Riemann invariant coordinates. Under certain conditions, we show the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the Riemann problem for arbitrary initial data, and then discuss the vacuum state in isentropic magnetogasdynamics. Finally, we discuss numerical results for different initial data, and discuss all possible interactions of elementary waves. It is noticed that although the magnetogasdynamic system is more complex than the corresponding gasdynamic system, all the parallel results remain identical. However, unlike the ordinary gasdynamic case, the solution inside rarefaction waves in magnetogasdynamics cannot be obtained directly and explicitly; indeed, it requires an extra iteration procedure. It is also observed that the presence of a magnetic field makes both the shock and rarefaction stronger compared to what they would have been in the absence of a magnetic field.  相似文献

We are concerned with the derivation and analysis of one-dimensional hyperbolic systems of conservation laws modelling fluid flows such as the blood flow through compliant axisymmetric vessels.Early models derived are nonconservative and/or nonhomogeneous with measure source terms,which are endowed with infinitely many Riemann solutions for some Riemann data.In this paper,we derive a one-dimensional hyperbolic system that is conservative and homogeneous.Moreover,there exists a unique global Riemann solution for the Riemann problem for two vessels with arbitrarily large Riemann data,under a natural stability entropy criterion.The Riemann solutions may consist of four waves for some cases.The system can also be written as a 3×3 system for which strict hyperbolicity fails and the standing waves can be regarded as the contact discontinuities corresponding to the second family with zero eigenvalue.  相似文献
