Using elementary arguments based on the Fourier transform we prove that for ${1 \leq q < p < \infty}$ and ${s \geq 0}$ with s > n(1/2 ? 1/p), if ${f \in L^{q,\infty} (\mathbb{R}^n) \cap \dot{H}^s (\mathbb{R}^n)}$ , then ${f \in L^p(\mathbb{R}^n)}$ and there exists a constant c p,q,s such that $$\| f \|_{L^{p}} \leq c_{p,q,s} \| f \|^\theta _{L^{q,\infty}} \| f \|^{1-\theta}_{\dot{H}^s},$$ where 1/pθ/q + (1?θ)(1/2?s/n). In particular, in ${\mathbb{R}^2}$ we obtain the generalised Ladyzhenskaya inequality ${\| f \| _{L^4} \leq c \| f \|^{1/2}_{L^{2,\infty}} \| f \|^{1/2}_{\dot{H}^1}}$ .We also show that for s = n/2 and q > 1 the norm in ${\| f \|_{\dot{H}^{n/2}}}$ can be replaced by the norm in BMO. As well as giving relatively simple proofs of these inequalities, this paper provides a brief primer of some basic concepts in harmonic analysis, including weak spaces, the Fourier transform, the Lebesgue Differentiation Theorem, and Calderon–Zygmund decompositions.  相似文献

Let f be a conformal map from the 2-disk into ${\mathbb{R}^n}$ . We prove that the image f(B) have a normal tangent vector basis (e 1, e 2) with ${\|d(e_{1}, e_{2})\|_{L^2(B)} \leq C\|A\|_{L^2(B)}}$ when the total Gauss curvature ${\int_B |K_{f}| d\mu_f < 2\pi}$ .  相似文献

Let (T t ) t?≥ 0 be a bounded analytic semigroup on L p (Ω), with 1?<?p?<?∞. Let ?A denote its infinitesimal generator. It is known that if A and A * both satisfy square function estimates ${\bigl\|\bigl(\int_{0}^{\infty} \vert A^{\frac{1}{2}} T_t(x)\vert^2 {\rm d}t \bigr)^{\frac{1}{2}}\bigr\|_{L^p} \lesssim \|x\|_{L^p}}$ and ${\bigl\|\bigl(\int_{0}^{\infty} \vert A^{*\frac{1}{2}} T_t^*(y) \vert^2 {\rm d}t \bigr)^{\frac{1}{2}}\bigr\|_{L^{p^\prime}} \lesssim \|y\|_{L^{p^\prime}}}$ for ${x\in L^p(\Omega)}$ and ${y\in L^{p^\prime}(\Omega)}$ , then A admits a bounded ${H^{\infty}(\Sigma_\theta)}$ functional calculus for any ${\theta>\frac{\pi}{2}}$ . We show that this actually holds true for some ${\theta<\frac{\pi}{2}}$ .  相似文献

Varying conditions on the weight function f, the author is interested in whether the extremal of the ratio $\inf \frac{{\left\| {\nabla u} \right\|_{Lp} \left( \Omega \right)}}{{\left\| {fu} \right\|_{Lp} \left( \Omega \right)}}{\lambda }_{pq} \left( {\Omega ,f} \right)$ remains symmetric. Here, f is positive almost everywhere in $u \in \mathop {W_p^1 }\limits^{\text{O}} \left( \Omega \right)$ and the infimum is taken over all functions $u \in \mathop {W_p^1 \left( \Omega \right)}\limits^{\text{O}}$ . The paper is devoted to the study of the weak norms of the classical operators in the vector-valued setting.
  1. Let S, H denote the singular integral involution operator and the Hilbert transform on $L^p \left( {\mathbb{T}, \ell _\mathbb{C}^2 } \right)$ , respectively. Then for 1 ≤ p ≤ 2 and any f, $$\left\| {\mathcal{S}f} \right\|_{p,\infty } \leqslant \left( {\frac{1} {\pi }\int_{ - \infty }^\infty {\frac{{\left| {\tfrac{2} {\pi }\log \left| t \right|} \right|^p }} {{t^2 + 1}}dt} } \right)^{ - 1/p} \left\| f \right\|p,$$ $$\left\| {\mathcal{H}f} \right\|_{p,\infty } \leqslant \left( {\frac{1} {\pi }\int_{ - \infty }^\infty {\frac{{\left| {\tfrac{2} {\pi }\log \left| t \right|} \right|^p }} {{t^2 + 1}}dt} } \right)^{ - 1/p} \left\| f \right\|p.$$ Both inequalities are sharp.
  2. Let P + and P ? stand for the Riesz projection and the co-analytic projection on $L^p \left( {\mathbb{T}, \ell _\mathbb{C}^2 } \right)$ , respectively. Then for 1 ≤ p ≤ 2 and any f, $$\left\| {P + f} \right\|_{p,\infty } \leqslant \left\| f \right\|_p ,$$ $$\left\| {P - f} \right\|_{p,\infty } \leqslant \left\| f \right\|_p .$$ Both inequalities are sharp.
  3. We establish the sharp versions of the estimates above in the nonperiodic case.
The results are new even if the operators act on complex-valued functions. The proof rests on the construction of an appropriate plurisubharmonic function and probabilistic techniques.  相似文献

This work is concerned with the inverse problem of determining initial value of the Cauchy problem for a nonlinear diffusion process with an additional condition on free boundary. Considering the flow of water through a homogeneous isotropic rigid porous medium, we have such desire: for every given positive constants K and T 0, to decide the initial value u 0 such that the solution u(x, t) satisfies $\mathop {\sup }\limits_{x \in H_u (T_0 )} |x| \geqslant K$ , where H u(T 0) = {x, ?N: u(x, T 0) > 0}. In this paper, we first establish a priori estimate u t ? C(t)u and a more precise Poincaré type inequality $\left\| \phi \right\|_{L^2 (B_\varrho )}^2 \leqslant \varrho \left\| {\nabla \phi } \right\|_{L^2 (B_\varrho )}^2 $ , and then, we give a positive constant C 0 and assert the main results are true if only $\left\| {u_0 } \right\|_{L^2 (\mathbb{R}^N )} \geqslant C_0 $ .  相似文献

Let ${N \geq 3}$ and u be the solution of u t = Δ log u in ${\mathbb{R}^N \times (0, T)}$ with initial value u 0 satisfying ${B_{k_1}(x, 0) \leq u_{0} \leq B_{k_2}(x, 0)}$ for some constants k 1k 2 > 0 where ${B_k(x, t) = 2(N - 2)(T - t)_{+}^{N/(N - 2)}/(k + (T - t)_{+}^{2/(N - 2)}|x|^{2})}$ is the Barenblatt solution for the equation and ${u_0 - B_{k_0} \in L^{1}(\mathbb{R}^{N})}$ for some constant k 0 > 0 if ${N \geq 4}$ . We give a new different proof on the uniform convergence and ${L^1(\mathbb{R}^N)}$ convergence of the rescaled function ${\tilde{u}(x, s) = (T - t)^{-N/(N - 2)}u(x/(T - t)^{-1/(N - 2)}, t), s = -{\rm log}(T - t)}$ , on ${\mathbb{R}^N}$ to the rescaled Barenblatt solution ${\tilde{B}_{k_0}(x) = 2(N - 2)/(k_0 + |x|^{2})}$ for some k 0 > 0 as ${s \rightarrow \infty}$ . When ${N \geq 4, 0 \leq u_0(x) \leq B_{k_0}(x, 0)}$ in ${\mathbb{R}^N}$ , and ${|u_0(x) - B_{k_0}(x, 0)| \leq f \in L^{1}(\mathbb{R}^{N})}$ for some constant k 0 > 0 and some radially symmetric function f, we also prove uniform convergence and convergence in some weighted L 1 space in ${\mathbb{R}^N}$ of the rescaled solution ${\tilde{u}(x, s)}$ to ${\tilde{B}_{k_0}(x)}$ as ${s \rightarrow \infty}$ .  相似文献

Let ${\mathcal{D}}_{n,k} $ be the family of linear subspaces of ?n given by all equations of the form $\varepsilon _1 x_{i_1 } = \varepsilon _2 x_{i_2 } = \cdot \cdot \cdot \varepsilon _k x_{i_k } ,$ for 1 ≤ < ? ? ? < i ki and $\left( {\varepsilon _1 ,...,\varepsilon _k } \right)\varepsilon \left\{ { + 1, - 1} \right\}^k $ Also let ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h} $ be ${\mathcal{D}}_{n,k} $ enlarged by the subspaces $x_{j_1 } = x_{j_2 } = \cdot \cdot \cdot x_{j_h } = 0,$ for 1 ≤. The special cases ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,2,1} $ and ${\mathcal{D}}_{n,2} $ are well known as the reflection hyperplane arrangements corresponding to the Coxeter groups of type B nand D n respectively. In this paper we study combinatorial and topological properties of the intersection lattices of these subspace arrangements. Expressions for their Möbius functions and characteristic polynomials are derived. Lexicographic shellability is established in the case of ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h,} 1 \leqslant h < k$ , which allows computation of the homology of its intersection lattice and the cohomology groups of the manifold $\begin{gathered} {\mathcal{D}}_{n,2} \\ M_{n,k,h,} = {\mathbb{R}}^n \backslash \bigcup {{\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h,} } \\ \end{gathered} $ . For instance, it is shown that $H^d \left( {M_{n,k,k - 1} } \right)$ is torsion-free and is nonzero if and only if d = t(k ? 2) for some $t,0 \leqslant t \leqslant \left[ {{n \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {n k}} \right. \kern-0em} k}} \right]$ . Torsion-free cohomology follows also for the complement in ?nof the complexification ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h}^C ,1 \leqslant h < k$ .  相似文献

Any weak solution u to the Navier-Stokes equations is showed to be regular under the assumption that ||u|| L 2w (0,T ;L ∞ ( R 3 )) is sufficiently small, which is a limiting case of the regularity criteria derived by Kim and Kozono. Our result gives a positive answer to the question proposed by Kim and Kozono. For the incompressible magnetohydrodynamic equations, we also show the regularity of weak solution only under the assumption that ||u|| L 2w (0,T ;L ∞ ( R 3 )) is sufficiently small.  相似文献

We consider the spaces A p ( $\mathbb{T}^m $ ) of functions f on the m-dimensional torus $\mathbb{T}^m $ such that the sequence of Fourier coefficients $\hat f = \{ \hat f(k),k \in \mathbb{Z}^m \} $ belongs to l p (? m ), 1 ≤ p < 2. The norm on A p ( $\mathbb{T}^m $ ) is defined by $\left\| f \right\|_{A_p (\mathbb{T}^m )} = \left\| {\hat f} \right\|_{l^p (\mathbb{Z}^m )} $ . We study the rate of growth of the norms $\left\| {e^{i\lambda \phi } } \right\|_{A_p (\mathbb{T}^m )} $ as |λ| → ∞, λ ∈ ?, for C 1-smooth real functions φ on $\mathbb{T}^m $ (the one-dimensional case was investigated by the author earlier). The lower estimates that we obtain have direct analogs for the spaces A p (? m ).  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the regularity of solutions for the following degenerate partial differential equation $$\left \{\begin{array}{ll} -\Delta_p u + u = f \qquad {\rm in} \,\Omega,\\ \frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu} = 0 \qquad \qquad \,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\, {\rm on} \,\partial \Omega, \end{array}\right.$$ when ${f \in L^q(\Omega), p > 2}$ and q ≥ 2. If u is a weak solution in ${W^{1, p}(\Omega)}$ , we obtain estimates for u in the Nikolskii space ${\mathcal{N}^{1+2/r,r}(\Omega)}$ , where r = q(p ? 2) + 2, in terms of the L q norm of f. In particular, due to imbedding theorems of Nikolskii spaces into Sobolev spaces, we conclude that ${\|u\|^r_{W^{1 + 2/r - \epsilon, r}(\Omega)} \leq C(\|f\|_{L^q(\Omega)}^q + \| f\|^{r}_{L^q(\Omega)} + \|f\|^{2r/p}_{L^q(\Omega)})}$ for every ${\epsilon > 0}$ sufficiently small. Moreover, we prove that the resolvent operator is continuous and compact in ${W^{1,r}(\Omega)}$ .  相似文献

Let $I^d $ be the d‐dimensional cube, $I^d = [0,1]^d $ , and let $F \ni f \mapsto Sf \in L_\infty (I^d ) $ be a linear operator acting on the Sobolev space F, where Fis either $$$$ or $$$$ where $$\left\| f \right\|_F = \sum\limits_{\left| m \right| = r} {\mathop {{\text{esssup}}}\limits_{x \in I^d } \left| {\frac{{\partial f^{\left| m \right|} }} {{\partial x_1^{m_1 } \partial x_2^{m_2 } \cdot \cdot \cdot \partial x_d^{m_d } }}(x)} \right|.} $$ We assume that the problem elements fsatisfy the condition $\sum\nolimits_{\left| m \right| = r} {{\text{esssup}}} _{x \in I^d } \left| {f^{(m)} (x)} \right| \leqslant 1 $ and that Sis continuous with respect to the supremum norm. We study sensitivity of optimal recovery of Sfrom inexact samples of ftaken at npoints forming a uniform grid on $I^d $ . We assume that the inaccuracy in reading the sample vector is measured in the pth norm and bounded by a nonnegative number δ. The sensitivity is defined by the difference between the optimal errors corresponding to the exact and perturbed readings, respectively. Our main result is that this difference is bounded by $\mathcal{A}\delta $ , where $\mathcal{A} $ is a positive constant independent of the number of samples. This indicates that the curse of dimension, which badly affects the optimal errors, does not extend to sensitivity.  相似文献

We consider the generalized Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequality in $\Bbb{R}^{n}$ including homogeneous Besov space $\dot{B}^{s}_{r,\rho}(\Bbb{R}^{n})$ with the critical order s=n/r, which describes the continuous embedding such as $L^{p}(\Bbb{R}^{n})\cap\dot{B}^{n/r}_{r,\rho}(\Bbb{R}^{n})\subset L^{q}(\Bbb{R}^{n})$ for all q with p q<∞, where 1 p r<∞ and 1<ρ ∞. Indeed, the following inequality holds: $$\|u\|_{L^{q}(\Bbb{R}^{n})}\leqq C\,q^{1-1/\rho}\|u\|_{L^{p}(\Bbb{R}^{n})}^{p/q}\|u\|_{\dot{B}^{n/r}_{r,\rho}(\Bbb{R}^{n})}^{1-p/q},$$ where C is a constant depending only on r. In this inequality, we have the exact order 1?1/ρ of divergence to the power q tending to the infinity. Furthermore, as a corollary of this inequality, we obtain the Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequality with the homogeneous Triebel-Lizorkin space $\dot{F}^{n/r}_{r,\rho}(\Bbb{R}^{n})$ , which implies the usual Sobolev imbedding with the critical Sobolev space $\dot{H}^{n/r}_{r}(\Bbb{R}^{n})$ . Moreover, as another corollary, we shall prove the Trudinger-Moser type inequality in $\dot{B}^{n/r}_{r,\rho}(\Bbb{R}^{n})$ .  相似文献

We consider the randomly weighted sums $ \sum\nolimits_{k = 1}^n {{\theta_k}{X_k},n \geqslant 1} $ , where $ \left\{ {{X_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ are n real-valued random variables with subexponential distributions, and $ \left\{ {{\theta_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ are other n random variables independent of $ \left\{ {{X_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ and satisfying $ a \leqslant \theta \leqslant b $ for some $ 0 < a \leqslant b < \infty $ and all $ 1 \leqslant k \leqslant n $ . For $ \left\{ {{X_k},1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} \right\} $ satisfying some dependent structures, we prove that $$ {\text{P}}\left( {\mathop {{\max }}\limits_{1 \leqslant m \leqslant n} \sum\limits_{k = 1}^m {{\theta_k}{X_k} > x} } \right)\sim {\text{P}}\left( {\sum\limits_{k = 1}^m {{\theta_k}{X_k} > x} } \right)\sim {\text{P}}\left( {\mathop {{\max }}\limits_{1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} {\theta_k}{X_k} > x} \right)\sim \sum\limits_{k = 1}^m {{\text{P}}\left( {{\theta_k}{X_k} > x} \right)} $$ as x??????.  相似文献

Bourgain posed the problem of calculating $$\begin{aligned} \Sigma = \sup _{n \ge 1} ~\sup _{k_1 < \cdots < k_n} \frac{1}{\sqrt{n}} \left\| \sum _{j=1}^n e^{2 \pi i k_j \theta } \right\| _{L^1([0,1])}. \end{aligned}$$ It is clear that $\Sigma \le 1$ ; beyond that, determining whether $\Sigma < 1$ or $\Sigma =1$ would have some interesting implications, for example concerning the problem whether all rank one transformations have singular maximal spectral type. In the present paper we prove $\Sigma \ge \sqrt{\pi }/2 \approx 0.886$ , by this means improving a result of Karatsuba. For the proof we use a quantitative two-dimensional version of the central limit theorem for lacunary trigonometric series, which in its original form is due to Salem and Zygmund.  相似文献

Let G be a commutative group, written additively, with a neutral element 0, and let K be a finite group. Suppose that K acts on G via group automorphisms ${G \ni a \mapsto ka \in G}$ , ${k \in K}$ . Let ${{\mathfrak{H}}}$ be a complex Hilbert space and let ${{\mathcal L}({\mathfrak{H}})}$ be the algebra of all bounded linear operators on ${{\mathfrak{H}}}$ . A mapping ${u \colon G \to {\mathcal L}({\mathfrak{H}})}$ is termed a K-spherical function if it satisfies (1) ${|K|^{-1} \sum_{k\in K} u (a+kb)=u (a) u (b)}$ for any ${a,b\in G}$ , where |K| denotes the cardinality of K, and (2) ${u (0) = {\rm id}_{\mathfrak {H}},}$ where ${{\rm id}_{\mathfrak {H}}}$ designates the identity operator on ${{\mathfrak{H}}}$ . The main result of the paper is that for each K-spherical function ${u \colon G \to {\mathcal {L}}({\mathfrak {H}})}$ such that ${\| u \|_{\infty} = \sup_{a\in G} \| u (a)\|_{{\mathcal L}({\mathfrak{H}})} < \infty,}$ there is an invertible operator S in ${{\mathcal L}({\mathfrak{H}})}$ with ${\| S \| \, \| S^{-1}\| \leq |K| \, \| u \|_{\infty}^2}$ such that the K-spherical function ${{\tilde{u}} \colon G \to {\mathcal L}({\mathfrak{H}})}$ defined by ${{\tilde{u}}(a) = S u (a) S^{-1},\,a \in G,}$ satisfies ${{\tilde{u}}(-a) = {\tilde{u}}(a)^*}$ for each ${a \in G}$ . It is shown that this last condition is equivalent to insisting that ${{\tilde{u}}(a)}$ be normal for each ${a \in G}$ .  相似文献

We observe that, given a poset ${\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)}$ and a finite covering ${\user1{\mathcal{R}}} = {\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} \cup \cdots \cup {\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} $ of its ordering, the height of the poset does not exceed the natural product of the heights of the corresponding sub-relations: $$\mathfrak{h}{\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)} \leqslant \mathfrak{h}{\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} } \right)} \otimes \cdots \otimes \mathfrak{h}{\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} } \right)}.$$ Conversely for every finite sequence $(\xi_1,\cdots,\xi_n)$ of ordinals, every poset ${\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)}$ of height at most $\xi_1\otimes\cdots\otimes\xi_n$ admits a partition ${\left( {{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} , \cdots ,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} } \right)}$ of its ordering ${\user1{\mathcal{R}}}$ such that each ${\left( {E,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{k} } \right)}$ has height at most $\xi_k$ . In particular for every finite sequence $(\xi_1,\cdots,\xi_n)$ of ordinals, the ordinal $$\xi _{1} \underline{ \otimes } \cdots \underline{ \otimes } \xi _{n} : = \sup {\left\{ {{\left( {\xi ^{\prime }_{1} \otimes \cdots \otimes \xi ^{\prime }_{n} } \right)} + 1:\xi ^{\prime }_{1} < \xi _{1} , \cdots ,\xi ^{\prime }_{n} < \xi _{n} } \right\}}$$ is the least $\xi$ for which the following partition relation holds $$\mathfrak{H}_{\xi } \to {\left( {\mathfrak{H}_{{\xi _{1} }} , \cdots ,\mathfrak{H}_{{\xi _{n} }} } \right)}^{2} $$ meaning: for every poset ${\left( {A,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}} \right)}$ of height at least $\xi$ and every finite covering ${\left( {{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{1} , \cdots ,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{n} } \right)}$ of its ordering ${\user1{\mathcal{R}}}$ , there is a $k$ for which the relation ${\left( {A,{\user1{\mathcal{R}}}_{k} } \right)}$ has height at least $\xi_k$ . The proof will rely on analogue properties of vertex coverings w.r.t. the natural sum.  相似文献
