A ring is called commutative transitive if commutativity is a transitive relation on its nonzero elements. Likewise, it is weakly commutative transitive (wCT) if commutativity is a transitive relation on its noncentral elements. The main topic of this paper is to describe the structure of finite wCT rings. It is shown that every such ring is a direct sum of an indecomposable noncommutative wCT ring of prime power order, and a commutative ring. Furthermore, finite indecomposable wCT rings are either two-by-two matrices over fields, local rings, or basic rings with two maximal ideals. We characterize finite local rings as generalized skew polynomial rings over coefficient Galois rings; the associated automorphisms of the Galois ring give rise to a signature of the local ring. These are then used to further describe the structure of finite local and wCT basic rings.  相似文献

In this paper, we study some properties of the Hurwitz series ring HR (resp. Hurwitz polynomial ring hR), such as the flatness or the faithful flatness of HR / (f) (resp. hR / (f)), the strongly Hopfian property and the radical property of HR (resp. hR). We give some sufficient and necessary conditions for HR / (f) (resp. hR / (f)) to be flat or faithful flat. We also prove that the strongly Hopfian property transfer between R and HR (resp. hR), and some radicals of HR can be determined in terms of those of R, in case R satisfies some additional conditions.  相似文献

Let R be a ring with identity. We use J(R); G(R); and X(R) to denote the Jacobson radical, the group of all units, and the set of all nonzero nonunits in R; respectively. A ring is said to be Abelian if every idempotent is central. It is shown, for an Abelian ring R and an idempotent-lifting ideal N ? J(R) of R; that R has a complete set of primitive idempotents if and only if R/N has a complete set of primitive idempotents. The structure of an Abelian ring R is completely determined in relation with the local property when X(R) is a union of 2; 3; 4; and 5 orbits under the left regular action on X(R) by G(R): For a semiperfect ring R which is not local, it is shown that if G(R) is a cyclic group with 2 ∈ G(R); then R is finite. We lastly consider two sorts of conditions for G(R) to be an Abelian group.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with nonzero identity and J(R) the Jacobson radical of R. The Jacobson graph of R, denoted by JR, is defined as the graph with vertex set RJ(R) such that two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if 1 ? xy is not a unit of R. The genus of a simple graph G is the smallest nonnegative integer n such that G can be embedded into an orientable surface Sn. In this paper, we investigate the genus number of the compact Riemann surface in which JR can be embedded and explicitly determine all finite commutative rings R (up to isomorphism) such that JR is toroidal.  相似文献

We obtain the structure of the rings in which every element is either a sum or a difference of a nilpotent and an idempotent that commute. This extends the structure theorems of a commutative weakly nil-clean ring, of an abelian weakly nil-clean ring, and of a strongly nil-clean ring. As applications, this result is used to determine the 2-primal rings R such that the matrix ring \(\mathbb{M}_n (R)\) is weakly nil-clean, and to show that the endomorphism ring End D (V) over a vector space V D is weakly nil-clean if and only if it is nil-clean or dim(V) = 1 with D?= ?3.  相似文献

Let (R,m) be a commutative Noetherian regular local ring of dimension d and I be a proper ideal of R such that mAss R (R/I) = Assh R (I). It is shown that the R- module Hht(I) I (R) is I-cofinite if and only if cd(I,R) = ht(I). Also we present a sufficient condition under which this condition the R-module H i I (R) is finitely generated if and only if it vanishes.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring. In this paper, we introduce and study the compressed annihilator graph of R. The compressed annihilator graph of R is the graph AGE(R), whose vertices are equivalence classes of zero-divisors of R and two distinct vertices [x] and [y] are adjacent if and only if ann(x)∪ann(y) ? ann(xy). For a reduced ring R, we show that compressed annihilator graph of R is identical to the compressed zero-divisor graph of R if and only if 0 is a 2-absorbing ideal of R. As a consequence, we show that an Artinian ring R is either local or reduced whenever 0 is a 2-absorbing ideal of R.  相似文献

A result of Nakayama and Skornyakov states that a ring R is an Artinian serial ring if and only if every R-module is serial. This motivated us to study commutative rings for which every proper ideal is serial. In this paper, we determine completely the structure of commutative rings R of which every proper ideal is serial. It is shown that every proper ideal of R is serial, if and only if, either R is a serial ring, or R is a local ring with maximal ideal \({\mathcal {M}}\) such that there exist a uniserial module U and a semisimple module T with \({\mathcal {M}}=U\oplus T\). Moreover, in the latter case, every proper ideal of R is isomorphic to \(U^{\prime }\oplus T^{\prime }\), for some \(U^{\prime }\leq U\) and \(T^{\prime }\leq T\). Furthermore, it is shown that every proper ideal of a commutative Noetherian ring R is serial, if and only if, either R is a finite direct product of discrete valuation domains and local Artinian principal ideal rings, or R is a local ring with maximal ideal \({\mathcal {M}}\) containing a set of elements {w 1,…,w n } such that \({\mathcal {M}}=\bigoplus _{i=1}^{n} Rw_{i}\) with at most one non-simple summand. Moreover, another equivalent condition states that: there exists an integer n ≥ 1 such that every proper ideal of R is a direct sum of at most n uniserial R-modules. Finally, we discuss some examples to illustrate our results.  相似文献

The concepts of strongly lifting modules and strongly dual Rickart modules are introduced and their properties are studied and relations between them are given in this paper. It is shown that a strongly lifting module has the strongly summand sum property and the generalized Hopfian property, and a ring R is a strongly regular ring if and only if RR is a strongly dual Rickart module, if and only if aR is a fully invariant direct summand of RR for every aR.  相似文献

In this paper, for rings R, we introduce complex rings ?(R), quaternion rings ?(R), and octonion rings O(R), which are extension rings of R; R ? ?(R) ? ?(R) ? O(R). Our main purpose of this paper is to show that if R is a Frobenius algebra, then these extension rings are Frobenius algebras and if R is a quasi-Frobenius ring, then ?(R) and ?(R) are quasi-Frobenius rings and, when Char(R) = 2, O(R) is also a quasi-Frobenius ring.  相似文献

A semigroup (R, ·) is said to be a UA-ring if there exists a unique binary operation “+” transforming (R, ·, +) into a ring. An R-module A is said to be a UA-module if it is not possible to define a new addition in A without changing the action of R on A. In this paper we investigate topics that are related to the structure of UA-rings of endomorphisms and UA-modules over commutative Noetherian rings.  相似文献

A ring R is called a ring with a large center or an IIC-ring if any nonzero ideal of R has a nonzero intersection with the center of R. We consider conditions which guarantee that a semigroup ring over an IIC-ring is an IIC-ring.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with nonzero identity and J(R) be the Jacobson radical of R. The Jacobson graph of R, denoted by J R , is a graph with vertex-set R J(R), such that two distinct vertices a and b in R J(R) are adjacent if and only if 1 ? ab is not a unit of R. Also, the line graph of the Jacobson graph is denoted by L(J R ). In this paper, we characterize all finite commutative rings R such that the graphs L(J R ) are planar, toroidal or projective.  相似文献

An associative ring R is called a unique addition ring (UA-ring) if its multiplicative semigroup (R, · ) can be equipped with a unique binary operation+ transforming the triple (R, ·, +) to a ring. An R-module A is said to be an End-UA-module if the endomorphism ring End R (A) of A is a UA-ring. In the paper, the torsion-free End-UA-modules over commutative Dedekind domains are studied. In some classes of Abelian torsion-free groups, the Abelian groups having UA-endomorphism rings are found.  相似文献

We describe a method for solving linear systems over the localization of a commutative ring R at a multiplicatively closed subset S that works under the following hypotheses: the ring R is coherent, i.e., we can compute finite generating sets of row syzygies of matrices over R, and there is an algorithm that decides for any given finitely generated ideal \(I \subseteq R\) the existence of an element r in \(S \cap I\) and in the affirmative case computes r as a concrete linear combination of the generators of I.  相似文献

A ring R is (weakly) nil clean provided that every element in R is the sum of a (weak) idempotent and a nilpotent. We characterize nil and weakly nil matrix rings over abelian rings. Let R be abelian, and let n ∈ ?. We prove that M n (R) is nil clean if and only if R/J(R) is Boolean and M n (J(R)) is nil. Furthermore, we prove that R is weakly nil clean if and only if R is periodic; R/J(R) is ?3, B or ?3B where B is a Boolean ring, and that M n (R) is weakly nil clean if and only if M n (R) is nil clean for all n ≥ 2.  相似文献

A ring R is called a right PS-ring if its socle, Soc(R R ), is projective. Nicholson and Watters have shown that if R is a right PS-ring, then so are the polynomial ring R[x] and power series ring R[[x]]. In this paper, it is proved that, under suitable conditions, if R has a (flat) projective socle, then so does the skew inverse power series ring R[[x ?1; α, δ]] and the skew polynomial ring R[x; α, δ], where R is an associative ring equipped with an automorphism α and an α-derivation δ. Our results extend and unify many existing results. Examples to illustrate and delimit the theory are provided.  相似文献

Under study are the dual automorphism-invariant modules and pseudoprojective modules. Some conditions were found under which the dual automorphism-invariant module over a perfect ring is quasiprojective. We also show that if R is a right perfect ring then a pseudoprojective right R-module M is finitely generated if and only if M is a Hopf module.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with 1 ≠ 0 and U(R) be the set of all unit elements of R. Let m, n be positive integers such that m > n. In this article, we study a generalization of n-absorbing ideals. A proper ideal I of R is called an (m, n)-absorbing ideal if whenever a 1?a m I for a 1,…, a m R?U(R), then there are n of the a i ’s whose product is in I. We investigate the stability of (m, n)-absorbing ideals with respect to various ring theoretic constructions and study (m, n)-absorbing ideals in several commutative rings. For example, in a Bézout ring or a Boolean ring, an ideal is an (m, n)-absorbing ideal if and only if it is an n-absorbing ideal, and in an almost Dedekind domain every (m, n)-absorbing ideal is a product of at most m ? 1 maximal ideals.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring. The annihilator graph of R, denoted by AG(R), is the undirected graph with all nonzero zero-divisors of R as vertex set, and two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if ann R (xy) ≠ ann R (x) ∪ ann R (y), where for zR, ann R (z) = {rR: rz = 0}. In this paper, we characterize all finite commutative rings R with planar or outerplanar or ring-graph annihilator graphs. We characterize all finite commutative rings R whose annihilator graphs have clique number 1, 2 or 3. Also, we investigate some properties of the annihilator graph under the extension of R to polynomial rings and rings of fractions. For instance, we show that the graphs AG(R) and AG(T(R)) are isomorphic, where T(R) is the total quotient ring of R. Moreover, we investigate some properties of the annihilator graph of the ring of integers modulo n, where n ? 1.  相似文献
