This paper investigates the numerical solutions of singular second order three-point boundary value problems using reproducing kernel Hilbert space method. It is a relatively new analytical technique. The solution obtained by using the method takes the form of a convergent series with easily computable components. However, the reproducing kernel Hilbert space method cannot be used directly to solve a singular second order three-point boundary value problem, so we convert it into an equivalent integro-differential equation, which can be solved using reproducing kernel Hilbert space method. Four numerical examples are given to demonstrate the efficiency of the present method. The numerical results demonstrate that the method is quite accurate and efficient for singular second order three-point boundary value problems.  相似文献

The existence and multiplicity of positive solutions are established to periodic boundary value problems for singular nonlinear second order ordinary differential equations. The arguments are based only upon the positivity of the Green's functions and the Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem. In this paper, we prove that there exists a unique weak (Sobolev) solution to the mixed boundary value problem for a general class of semilinear second order elliptic partial differential equations with singular coefficients. In this article, we propose an iterative method based on the equation decomposition technique ( 1 ) for the numerical solution of a singular perturbation problem of fourth‐order elliptic equation. At each step of the given method, we only need to solve a boundary value problem of second‐order elliptic equation and a second‐order singular perturbation problem. We prove that our approximate solution converges to the exact solution when the domain is a disc. Our numerical examples show the efficiency and accuracy of our method. Our iterative method works very well for singular perturbation problems, that is, the case of 0 < ε ? 1, and the convergence rate is very fast. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. One of the vacuum diode models is written as a singular boundary value problem for two ODEs of the second order with one parameter. The parameter is unknown and must be found along with the initial conditions at the origin to satisfy the boundary conditions at the end of the interval. The problem presents considerable difficulties in its theoretical and, especially, numerical study. Here we give a complete analytical and numerical solution of this problem.  相似文献
