We prove surface and volume mean value formulas for classical solutions to uniformly parabolic equations in the divergence form with low regularity of the coefficients. We then use them to prove the parabolic strong maximum principle and the parabolic Harnack inequality. We emphasize that our results only rely on the classical theory, and our arguments follow the lines used in the original theory of harmonic functions. We provide two proofs relying on two different formulations of the divergence theorem, one stated for sets with almost C1-boundary, the other stated for sets with finite perimeter.  相似文献

We consider nonlinear integro‐differential equations like the ones that arise from stochastic control problems with purely jump Lévy processes. We obtain a nonlocal version of the ABP estimate, Harnack inequality, and interior C1, α regularity for general fully nonlinear integro‐differential equations. Our estimates remain uniform as the degree of the equation approaches 2, so they can be seen as a natural extension of the regularity theory for elliptic partial differential equations. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

We consider viscosity solutions to nonlinear uniformly parabolic equations in nondivergence form on a Riemannian manifold M with the sectional curvature bounded from below by −κ   for κ≥0κ0. In the elliptic case, Wang and Zhang [24] recently extended the results of [5] to nonlinear elliptic equations in nondivergence form on such M, where they obtained the Harnack inequality for classical solutions. We establish the Harnack inequality for nonnegative viscosity solutions to nonlinear uniformly parabolic equations in nondivergence form on M. The Harnack inequality of nonnegative viscosity solutions to the elliptic equations is also proved.  相似文献

For second order linear equations and inequalities which are degenerate elliptic but which possess a uniformly elliptic direction, we formulate and prove weak maximum principles which are compatible with a solvability theory in suitably weighted versions of L2-based Sobolev spaces. The operators are not necessarily in divergence form, have terms of lower order, and have low regularity assumptions on the coefficients. The needed weighted Sobolev spaces are, in general, anisotropic spaces defined by a non-negative continuous matrix weight. As preparation, we prove a Poincaré inequality with respect to such matrix weights and analyze the elementary properties of the weighted spaces. Comparisons to known results and examples of operators which are elliptic away from a hyperplane of arbitrary codimension are given. Finally, in the important special case of operators whose principal part is of Grushin type, we apply these results to obtain some spectral theory results such as the existence of a principal eigenvalue.  相似文献

We prove a differential Harnack inequality for the solution of the parabolic Allen–Cahn equation \( \frac{\partial f}{\partial t}=\triangle f-(f^3-f)\) on a closed n-dimensional manifold. As a corollary, we find a classical Harnack inequality. We also formally compare the standing wave solution to a gradient estimate of Modica from the 1980s for the elliptic equation.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish Hölder regularity of weak solutions to the diagonal divergence form degenerate quasilinear parabolic system related to Hörmander type vector fields by deriving a parabolic Poincaré inequality and the higher integrability of gradients of weak solutions.  相似文献

We study the Cauchy problem of a semilinear parabolic equation. We construct an appropriate Harnack quantity and get a differential Harnack inequality. Using this inequality, we prove the finite-time blow-up of the positive solutions and recover a classical Harnack inequality. We also obtain a result of Liouville type for the elliptic equation.  相似文献

Harnack inequalities are established for a class of generalized Mehler semigroups, which in particular imply upper bound estimates for the transition density. Moreover, Poincaré and log-Sobolev inequalities are proved in terms of estimates for the square field operators. Furthermore, under a condition, well-known in the Gaussian case, we prove that generalized Mehler semigroups are strong Feller. The results are illustrated by concrete examples. In particular, we show that a generalized Mehler semigroup with an α-stable part is not hyperbounded but exponentially ergodic, and that the log-Sobolev constant obtained by our method in the special Gaussian case can be sharper than the one following from the usual curvature condition. Moreover, a Harnack inequality is established for the generalized Mehler semigroup associated with the Dirichlet heat semigroup on (0,1). We also prove that this semigroup is not hyperbounded.  相似文献

We show that the -parabolic Harnack inequality for random walks on graphs is equivalent, on one hand, to the sub-Gaussian estimate for the transition probability and, on the other hand, to the conjunction of the elliptic Harnack inequality, the doubling volume property, and the fact that the mean exit time in any ball of radius R is of the order . The latter condition can be replaced by a certain estimate of the resistance of annuli. Received: 15 November 2001 / Revised version: 21 February 2002 / Published online: 6 August 2002  相似文献

By proving a lower and an upper bound of the fundamental solutions of certain parabolic equations, we establish a Harnack inequality for some parabolic and elliptic equations which include: ∇(au)+bu=0, |b|∈K n+1.  相似文献

Harnack Inequalities for Jump Processes   总被引:11,自引:0,他引:11
We consider a class of pure jump Markov processes in R d whose jump kernels are comparable to those of symmetric stable processes. We establish a Harnack inequality for nonnegative functions that are harmonic with respect to these processes. We also establish regularity for the solutions to certain integral equations.  相似文献

We consider second-order linear parabolic operators in non-divergence form that are intrinsically defined on Riemannian manifolds. In the elliptic case, Cabré proved a global Krylov-Safonov Harnack inequality under the assumption that the sectional curvature of the underlying manifold is nonnegative. Later, Kim improved Cabré’s result by replacing the curvature condition by a certain condition on the distance function. Assuming essentially the same condition introduced by Kim, we establish Krylov-Safonov Harnack inequality for nonnegative solutions of the non-divergent parabolic equation. This, in particular, gives a new proof for Li-Yau Harnack inequality for positive solutions to the heat equation in a manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature.  相似文献

Old and recent results concerning Harnack inequalities for divergence form operators are reviewed. In particular, the characterization of the parabolic Harnack principle by simple geometric properties -Poincaré inequality and doubling property- is discussed at length. It is shown that these two properties suffice to apply Moser's iterative technique.  相似文献

We prove existence of strong solutions of Pucci extremal equations with superlinear growth in Du and unbounded coefficients. We apply this result to establish the weak Harnack inequality for Lp-viscosity supersolutions of fully nonlinear uniformly elliptic PDEs with superlinear growth terms with respect to Du.   相似文献

Harnack’s inequality is one of the most fundamental inequalities for positive harmonic functions and has been extended to positive solutions of general elliptic equations and parabolic equations. This article gives a different generalization; namely, we generalize Harnack chains rather than equations. More precisely, we allow a small exceptional set and yet obtain a similar Harnack inequality. The size of an exceptional set is measured by capacity. The results are new even for classical harmonic functions. Our extended Harnack inequality includes information about the boundary behavior of positive harmonic functions. It yields a boundary Harnack principle for a very nasty domain whose boundary is given locally by the graph of a function with modulus of continuity worse than Hölder continuity.  相似文献

We study regularity properties of quasiminimizers of the p-Dirichlet integral on metric measure spaces. We adapt the Moser iteration technique to this setting and show that it can be applied without an underlying differential equation. However, we have been able to run the Moser iteration fully only for minimizers. We prove Caccioppoli inequalities and local boundedness properties for quasisub- and quasisuperminimizers. This is done in metric spaces equipped with a doubling measure and supporting a weak (1, p)-Poincaré inequality. The metric space is not required to be complete. We also provide an example which shows that the dilation constant from the weak Poincaré inequality is essential in the condition on the balls in the Harnack inequality. This fact seems to have been overlooked in the earlier literature on nonlinear potential theory on metric spaces.  相似文献

We establish the intrinsic Harnack inequality for non-negative solutions of a class of degenerate, quasilinear, parabolic equations, including equations of the p-Laplacian and porous medium type. It is shown that the classical Harnack estimate, while failing for degenerate parabolic equations, it continues to hold in a space-time geometry intrinsic to the degeneracy. The proof uses only measure-theoretical arguments, it reproduces the classical Moser theory, for non-degenerate equations, and it is novel even in that context. Hölder estimates are derived as a consequence of the Harnack inequality. The results solve a long standing problem in the theory of degenerate parabolic equations.  相似文献

We study a general class of quasilinear non-uniformly elliptic pdes in divergence from with linear growth in the gradient. We examine the notions of BV and viscosity solutions and derive for such generalized solutions various a priori pointwise and integral estimates, including a Harnack inequality. In particular we prove that viscosity solutions are unique (on strictly convex domains), are contained in the space BV loc and are C 1,α almost everywhere.  相似文献
