In this paper we derive some new equations and we call them MHD-Leray-alpha equations which are similar to the MHD equations. We put forward the concept of weak and strong solutions for the new equations. Whether the 3-dimensional MHD equations have a unique weak solution is unknown, however, there is a unique weak solution for the 3-dimensional MHD-Leray-alpha equations. The global existence of strong solution and the Gevrey class regularity for the new equations are also obtained. Furthermore, we prove that the solutions of the MHD-Leray-alpha equations converge to the solution of the MHD equations in the weak sense as the parameter ε in the new equations converges to zero.  相似文献

We prove the existence of C local solutions to a class of mixed type Monge–Ampère equations in the plane. More precisely, the equation changes type to finite order across two smooth curves intersecting transversely at a point. Existence of C global solutions to a corresponding class of linear mixed type equations is also established. These results are motivated by and may be applied to the problem of prescribed Gaussian curvature for graphs, the isometric embedding problem for 2-dimensional Riemannian manifolds into Euclidean 3-space, and also transonic fluid flow.  相似文献

This paper consists of two parts. In the first part, we proved the global existence of weak solutions of a strongly coupled quasilinear parabolic system in Rn using weak compactness method. In the second part, we considered the electrochemistry model studied in Choi and Lui (J. Differential Equations 116 (1995) 306) where the Poisson equation governing the electric potential is replaced by a local electro-neutrality condition. In one space dimension, the equations for the model is of the form considered in the first part of this paper except that the coefficient matrix is discontinuous at places where all the charged ions vanish. We approximate the equations by nicer operators and pass to the limit to obtain global existence of weak solutions. The non-negativity of weak solutions and L2-stability of the steady-state solutions are also shown under additional hypotheses.  相似文献

We study the Cauchy problem for the n-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations (n?3), and prove some regularity criteria involving the integrability of the pressure or the pressure gradient for weak solutions in the Morrey, Besov and multiplier spaces.  相似文献

In the present paper, we construct the traveling wave solutions involving parameters for some nonlinear evolution equations in the mathematical physics via the (2+1)-dimensional Painlevé integrable Burgers equations, the (2+1)-dimensional Nizhnik-Novikov-Vesselov equations, the (2+1)-dimensional Boiti-Leon-Pempinelli equations and the (2+1)-dimensional dispersive long wave equations by using a new approach, namely the ( $\frac{G'}{G})$ -expansion method, where G=G(ξ) satisfies a second order linear ordinary differential equation. When the parameters are taken special values, the solitary waves are derived from the traveling waves. The traveling wave solutions are expressed by hyperbolic, trigonometric and rational functions.  相似文献

In this paper, a compensated compactness framework is established for sonicsubsonic approximate solutions to the n-dimensional (n ≥ 2) Euler equations for steady irrotational flow that may contain stagnation points. This compactness framework holds provided that the approximate solutions are uniformly bounded and satisfy H 1 loc (Ω) compactness conditions. As illustration, we show the existence of sonic-subsonic weak solution to n-dimensional (n ≥ 2) Euler equations for steady irrotational flow past obstacles or through an infinitely long nozzle. This is the first result concerning the sonic-subsonic limit for n-dimension (n ≥ 3).  相似文献

In this paper we consider an n-dimensional manifold M n evolving under the Ricci flow and establish gradient estimates for positive solutions of porous medium equations on M n . As applications, we derive Harnack type inequalities. In particular, our results generalize gradient estimates for positive solutions of the heat equations in Liu (Pacific J Math 243:165–180 [18]).  相似文献

We are concerned with existence, uniqueness and nonuniqueness of nonnegative solutions to the semilinear heat equation in open subsets of the n-dimensional sphere. Existence and uniqueness results are obtained using L p ?? L q estimates for the semigroup generated by the Laplace?CBeltrami operator. Moreover, under proper assumptions on the nonlinear function, we establish nonuniqueness of weak solutions, when n??? 3; to do this, we shall prove uniqueness of positive classical solutions and nonuniqueness of singular solutions of the corresponding semilinear elliptic problem.  相似文献

We investigate existence and uniqueness of solutions to semilinear parabolic and elliptic equations in bounded domains of the n-dimensional hyperbolic space (n?3). LpLq estimates for the semigroup generated by the Laplace-Beltrami operator are obtained and then used to prove existence and uniqueness results for parabolic problems. Moreover, under proper assumptions on the nonlinear function, we establish uniqueness of positive classical solutions and nonuniqueness of singular solutions of the elliptic problem; furthermore, for the corresponding semilinear parabolic problem, nonuniqueness of weak solutions is stated.  相似文献

Maxwell-Bloch equations describe the propagation of an electromagnetic wave through a quantum medium. For any number of quantum levels, in space dimension 3, we show the global existence of weak (L2) solutions to the initial-value problem. In the case of smoother electromagnetic fields (with curl in L2), the solution is unique. For smooth data (Hs, s?2), the solutions remain smooth for all times.  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear dispersive K(m,n) equation with the generalized evolution term and derive analytical expressions for some conserved quantities. By using a solitary wave ansatz in the form of sechp function, we obtain exact bright soliton solutions for (2 + 1)-dimensional and (3 + 1)-dimensional K(m,n) equations with the generalized evolution terms. The results are then generalized to multi-dimensional K(m,n) equations in the presence of the generalized evolution term. An extended form of the K(m,n) equation with perturbation term is investigated. Exact bright soliton solution for the proposed K(m,n) equation having higher-order nonlinear term is determined. The physical parameters in the soliton solutions are obtained as function of the dependent model coefficients.  相似文献

The paper proves the L 2-exponential stability of weak solutions of two-dimensional stochastic Navier?CStokes equations in the presence of delays. The results extend some of the existing results.  相似文献

In this work, a new generalized Jacobi elliptic function rational expansion method is based upon twenty-four Jacobi elliptic functions and eight double periodic Weierstrass elliptic functions, which solve the elliptic equation ?′2=r+p?2+q?4, is described. As a consequence abundant new Jacobi-Weierstrass double periodic elliptic functions solutions for (3+1)-dimensional Kadmtsev-Petviashvili (KP) equation are obtained by using this method. We show that the new method can be also used to solve other nonlinear partial differential equations (NPDEs) in mathematical physics.  相似文献

In the present study, we apply function transformation methods to the D-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation with damping and diffusive terms. As special cases, this method applies to the sine-Gordon, sinh-Gordon, and other equations. Also, the results show that these equations depend on only one function that can be obtained analytically by solving an ordinary differential equation. Furthermore, certain exact solutions of these three equations are shown to lead to the exact soliton solutions of a D-dimensional NLS equation with damping and diffusive terms. Finally, our results imply that the planar solitons, N multiple solitons, propagational breathers, and quadric solitons are solutions to the sine-Gordon, sinh-Gordon, and D-dimensional NLS equations.  相似文献

We consider the regularity problem for 3D Navier-Stokes equations in a bounded domain with smooth boundary. A new sufficient condition which guarantees the regularity of weak solutions on the quotient p/(1+|u|δ1+|u|δ2) for the Navier-Stokes equations is established.  相似文献

The problem of constructing all integer solutions n1n2 ≥ … ≥ nN to the pair of Diophantine equations n = n1 + … + nN, m = n12 + … + nN2 arises in the determination of the degeneracy of a given energy level of an N-dimensional isotropic quantum oscillator that is perturbed by an isotropic quartic potential energy term. This problem is solved recursively (in N) using the concept of a multiplet, which is a finite set of points in a lattice space LN whose points are N-tuples of integers that sum to zero. The basic definition and properties of multiplets are given and then used to obtain the solutions to the Diophantine equations described above. The classification of multiplets into two types, fundamental and nonfundamental, is shown to have an important role in elucidating the structure of multiplets. The concept of a fundamental multiplet is demonstrated to be an important characterization of the solutions to a pair of Diophantine equations that are closely related to those of the original problem.  相似文献

We study a class of mean curvature equations −Mu=H+λup where M denotes the mean curvature operator and for p?1. We show that there exists an extremal parameter λ such that this equation admits a minimal weak solutions for all λ∈[0,λ], while no weak solutions exists for λ>λ (weak solutions will be defined as critical points of a suitable functional). In the radially symmetric case, we then show that minimal weak solutions are classical solutions for all λ∈[0,λ] and that another branch of classical solutions exists in a neighborhood (λη,λ) of λ.  相似文献

We consider a hyperbolic conservation law posed on an (N+1)-dimensional spacetime, whose flux is a field of differential forms of degree N. Generalizing the classical Kuznetsov’s method, we derive an L1 error estimate which applies to a large class of approximate solutions. In particular, we apply our main theorem and deal with two entropy solutions associated with distinct flux fields, as well as with an entropy solution and an approximate solution. Our framework encompasses, for instance, equations posed on a globally hyperbolic Lorentzian manifold.  相似文献

We prove the global-in-time existence of weak solutions to the Navier–Stokes equations of compressible isentropic flow in three space dimensions with adiabatic exponent γ ≥ 1. Initial data and solutions are small in L 2 around a non-constant steady state with densities being positive and essentially bounded. No smallness assumption is imposed on the external forces when γ = 1. A great deal of information about partial regularity and large-time behavior is obtained.  相似文献
