Sufficient conditions are established for the solvability of the boundary value problem where p : C(I; R n) × C(I; R n) L(I; R n), q : C(I; R n) L(I; R n), l : C(I, R n) × C(I; R n) R n, and c n : C(I, R n) R n are continuous operators, and p(x, ) and l(x, ) are linear operators for any fixed .  相似文献

We suppose that M is a closed subspace of l (J, X), the space of all bounded sequences {x(n)} n?J ? X, where J ? {Z+,Z} and X is a complex Banach space. We define the M-spectrum σM (u) of a sequence u ? l (J,X). Certain conditions will be supposed on both M and σM (u) to insure the existence of u ? M. We prove that if u is ergodic, such that σM (u,) is at most countable and, for every λ ? σM (u), the sequence e?iλnu(n) is ergodic, then u ? M. We apply this result to the operator difference equationu(n + 1) = Au(n) + ψ(n), n ? J,and to the infinite order difference equation Σ r k=1 ak (u(n + k) ? u(n)) + Σ s ? Z?(n ? s)u(s) = h(n), n?J, where ψ?l (Z,X) such that ψ| J ? M, A is the generator of a C 0-semigroup of linear bounded operators {T(t)} t>0 on X, h ? M, ? ? l 1(Z) and ak ?C. Certain conditions will be imposed to guarantee the existence of solutions in the class M.  相似文献

Let M be a properly immersed n-dimensional complete minimal submanifold in Euclidean space Rn+p of dimension n+p. Let A be the second fundamental form of the immersion, and r the extrinsic distance from the origin. Suppose M has one end and inft supr(x)>t r2(x) |A|2(x) < C(n,p), then M is an affine n-plane, where C(n,p) are constants given by C(n,1) = n – 1 and C(n,p) = (2/3)(n – 1) when p > 1.  相似文献

We study the approximation of the classes of functions by the manifold R n formed by all possible linear combinations of n ridge functions of the form r(a · x)): It is proved that, for any 1 ≤ qp ≤ ∞, the deviation of the Sobolev class W r p from the set R n of ridge functions in the space L q (B d ) satisfies the sharp order n -r/(d-1).  相似文献

For a set A of nonnegative integers the representation functions R2(A,n), R3(A,n) are defined as the number of solutions of the equation n=a+a,a,aA with a<a, a?a, respectively. Let D(0)=0 and let D(a) denote the number of ones in the binary representation of a. Let A0 be the set of all nonnegative integers a with even D(a) and A1 be the set of all nonnegative integers a with odd D(a). In this paper we show that (a) if R2(A,n)=R2(N?A,n) for all n?2N−1, then R2(A,n)=R2(N?A,n)?1 for all n?12N2−10N−2 except for A=A0 or A=A1; (b) if R3(A,n)=R3(N?A,n) for all n?2N−1, then R3(A,n)=R3(N?A,n)?1 for all n?12N2+2N. Several problems are posed in this paper.  相似文献

The present paper establishes a complete result on approximation by rational functions with prescribed numerator degree in L pspaces for 1 < p < ∞ and proves that if f(x)∈L p [-1,1] changes sign exactly l times in (-1,1), then there exists r(x)∈R n l such that
where R n l indicates all rational functions whose denominators consist of polynomials of degree n and numerators polynomials of degree l, and C p , l, b is a positive constant depending only on p, l and b which relates to the distance among the sign change points of f(x) and will be given in §3. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

SupposeR is a prime ring with the centerZ and the extended centroidC. Letp(x 1, …,x n) be a polynomial overC in noncommuting variablesx 1, …,x n. LetI be a nonzero ideal ofR andA be the additive subgroup ofRC generated by {p(a 1, …,a n):a 1, …,a nI}. In this article, the authors establish the conditions for the extinction of solutions, in finite time, of the fast diffusive polytropic filtration equation u t ?=?div(|?u m | p?2?u m )?+?aΩ u q (y,?t)dy with a, q, m?>?0, p?>?1, m(p???1)?R N (N?>?2). More precisely speaking, it is shown that if q?>?m(p???1), any non-negative solution with small initial data vanishes in finite time, and if 0?q?m(p???1), there exists a solution which is positive in Ω for all t?>?0. For the critical case q?=?m(p???1), whether the solutions vanish in finite time or not depends on the comparison between a and μ, where μ?=?∫?Ωφ p?1(x)dx and φ is the unique positive solution of the elliptic problem ?div(|?φ| p?2?φ)?=?1, x?∈?Ω; φ(x)?=?0, x?∈??Ω.  相似文献

Let R be a prime ring of char R ≠ 2, d a nonzero derivation of R, U a noncentral Lie ideal of R, and a ∈ R. If au n 1 d(u) n 2 u n 3 d(u) n 4 u n 5 d(u) n k?1 u n k  = 0 for all u ∈ U, where n 1, n 2,…,n k are fixed non-negative integers not all zero, then a = 0 and if a(u s d(u)u t ) n  ∈ Z(R) for all u ∈ U, where s ≥ 0, t ≥ 0, n ≥ 1 are some fixed integers, then either a = 0 or R satisfies S 4, the standard identity in four variables.  相似文献

Let R be any commutative ring with identity, and let C be a (finite or infinite) cyclic group. We show that the group ring R(C) is presimplifiable if and only if its augmentation ideal I(C) is presimplifiable. We conjecture that the group rings R(C n ) are presimplifiable if and only if n = p m , p ∈ J(R), p is prime, and R is presimplifiable. We show the necessity of n = p m , and we prove the sufficiency when n = 2, 3, 4. These results were made possible by a new formula derived herein for the circulant determinantal coefficients.  相似文献

  4. R satisfies s4 and there exist a, b ∈ U and λ ∈C such that F(x) = λx + xa ? bx and G(x) = ax + xb for all x ∈ R;

A 1‐factorization of a graph G is a collection of edge‐disjoint perfect matchings whose union is E(G). In this paper, we prove that for any ?>0, an (n,d,λ)‐graph G admits a 1‐factorization provided that n is even, C0dn?1 (where C0=C0(?) is a constant depending only on ?), and λd1??. In particular, since (as is well known) a typical random d‐regular graph Gn,d is such a graph, we obtain the existence of a 1‐factorization in a typical Gn,d for all C0dn?1, thereby extending to all possible values of d results obtained by Janson, and independently by Molloy, Robalewska, Robinson, and Wormald for fixed d. Moreover, we also obtain a lower bound for the number of distinct 1‐factorizations of such graphs G, which is better by a factor of 2nd/2 than the previously best known lower bounds, even in the simplest case where G is the complete graph.  相似文献

Let R be a finitely generated associative algebra with unity over a finite field \Bbb Fq{\Bbb F}_q . Denote by a n (R) the number of left ideals JR such that dim R/J = n for all n ≥ 1. We explicitly compute and find asymptotics of the left ideal growth for the free associative algebra A d of rank d with unity over \Bbb Fq{\Bbb F}_q , where d ≥ 1. This function yields a bound a n (R) ≤ a n (A d ), n ? \Bbb Nn\in{\Bbb N} , where R is an arbitrary algebra generated by d elements. Denote by m n (R) the number of maximal left ideals JR such that dim R/J = n, for n ≥ 1. Let d ≥ 2, we prove that m n (A d ) ≈ a n (A d ) as n → ∞.  相似文献

Let K be a commutative ring with unity, R a prime K-algebra, Z(R) the center of R, d and δ nonzero derivations of R, and f(x 1,…, x n ) a multilinear polynomial over K. If [d(f(r 1,…, r n )), δ (f(r 1,…, r n ))] ? Z(R), for all r 1,…, r n  ? R, then either f(x 1,…, x n ) is central valued on R or {d, δ} are linearly dependent over C, the extended centroid of R, except when char(R) = 2 and dim C RC = 4.  相似文献

Suppose Φ maps an open subset U of Rn into Rk, a?U, S is a subset of U, and int Φ(S) denotes the interior of the image Φ(S). Call any result with conclusion Φ(a) ? int Φ(S) an interior mapping theorem. The best known example is an easy corollary of the classical Implicit Mapping Theorem: if Φ is strongly differentiable at a?U and if L = Φ′(a), then Φ(a) ? int Φ(U) whenever L(a) ? int L(U), that is, whenever the linear transformation L maps Rn onto Rk. A more subtle interior mapping theorem is proved in this paper: if a ? U ∩ C?, where C is a convex subset of U, if Φ is strongly differentiable at a?U, and if L = Φ′(a), then Φ(a) ? int Φ(C) whenever L(a) ? int L(C). This Convex Interior Mapping Theorem is then applied to yield a short proof of the Carathéodory-John Multiplier Rule for minimizing a strongly differentiable function φ0 subject to strongly differentiable inequality constraints φ1 ? 0,…, φp ? 0 strongly differentiable equality constraints φp + 1 = 0,…, φp + q= 0. (A corollary of this fundamental multiplier rule is the well-known Karush-Kuhn-Tucker theorem.) The demonstration proceeds by examining interiority properties of the mapping Φ = (φ0, φ1,…, φp + q) from U into Rp + q +1.  相似文献

Let denote the set of continuous n×n matrices on an interval . We say that is a nontrivial k-involution if where ζ=e-2πi/k, d0+d1++dk-1=n, and with . We say that is R-symmetric if R(t)A(t)R-1(t)=A(t), , and we show that if A is R-symmetric then solving x=A(t)x or x=A(t)x+f(t) reduces to solving k independent d×d systems, 0k-1. We consider the asymptotic behavior of the solutions in the case where . Finally, we sketch analogous results for linear systems of difference equations.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the problem of finding positive solutions of the equation −Δu+(a+a(x))u=|u|q−2u, where q is subcritical, Ω is either RN or an unbounded domain which is periodic in the first p coordinates and whose complement is contained in a cylinder , a>0, aC(RN,R) is periodic in the first p coordinates, infxRN(a+a(x))>0 and a(x,x)→0 as |x|→∞ uniformly in x. The cases a?0 and a?0 are considered and it is shown that, under appropriate assumptions on a, the problem has one solution in the first case and p+1 solutions in the second case when p?N−2.  相似文献

Let ga(t) and gb(t) be two positive, strictly convex and continuously differentiable functions on an interval (a, b) (−∞ a < b ∞), and let {Ln} be a sequence of linear positive operators, each with domain containing 1, t, ga(t), and gb(t). If Ln(ƒ; x) converges to ƒ(x) uniformly on a compact subset of (a, b) for the test functions ƒ(t) = 1, t, ga(t), gb(t), then so does every ƒ ε C(a, b) satisfying ƒ(t) = O(ga(t)) (ta+) and ƒ(t) = O(gb(t)) (tb). We estimate the convergence rate of Lnƒ in terms of the rates for the test functions and the moduli of continuity of ƒ and ƒ′.  相似文献
