We introduce and study the concept of small Krull dimension of a module which is Krull-like dimension extension of the concept of DCC on small submodules. Using this concept we extend some of the basic results for modules with this dimension, which are almost similar to the basic properties of modules with Krull dimension. When for a module A with small Krull dimension, whose Rad(A) is quotient finite dimensional, then these two dimensions for Rad(A) coincide. In particular, we prove that if an R-module A has finite hollow dimension, then A has small Krull dimension if and only if it has Krull dimension. Consequently, we show that if A has properties AB5* and qfd, then A has s.Krull dimension if and only if A has Krull dimension.  相似文献

Let G be a finitely generated group, and A a ?[G]-module of flat dimension n such that the homological invariant Σ n (G, A) is not empty. We show that A has projective dimension n as a ?[G]-module. In particular, if G is a group of homological dimension hd(G) = n such that the homological invariant Σ n (G, ?) is not empty, then G has cohomological dimension cd(G) = n. We show that if G is a finitely generated soluble group, the converse is true subject to taking a subgroup of finite index, i.e., the equality cd (G) = hd(G) implies that there is a subgroup H of finite index in G such that Σ(H, ?) ≠ ?.  相似文献

This article is concerned with the dimension theory of tensor products of algebras over a field k. In fact, we provide formulas for the Krull and valuative dimension of A? k B when A and B are k-algebras such that the polynomial ring A[n] is an AF-domain for some positive integer n. Also, we compute dim v (A? k B) in the case where A ? B.  相似文献

In this paper.we study the ring #(D.B)and obtain two very interesting results. First we prove in Theorem 3 that the category of rational left BU-modules is equivalent to both the category of #-rational left modules and the category of all(B.D)-Hopf modules BM^D.Cai and Chen have proved this result in the case B=D=A.Secondly they have proved that if A has a nonzero left integral then A#A^*rat is a dense subring of Endk(A).We prove that #(A,A) is a dense subring of Endk(Q),where Q is a certain subspace of #(A.A)under the condition that the antipode is bijective(see Theorem18).This condition is weaker than the condition that A has a nonzero integral. It is well known the antipode is bijective in case A has a nonzero integral.Furthermore if A has nonzero left integral,Q can be chosen to be A(see Corollary 19)and #(A,A)is both left and right primitive. Thus A#A^*rat #(A,A)-Endk(A).Moreover we prove that the left singular ideal of the ring #(A,A)is zero.A corollary of this is a criterion for A with nonzero left integral to be finite-dimensional,namely the ring #(A,A)has a finite uniform dimension.  相似文献

Let H be a Hopf algebra and A an H-bimodule algebra. This article investigates homological dimensions and Gorenstein dimensions of L-R smash products A?H. Several well-known results are generalized. Moreover, we explore the stability of Gorenstein projective (flat) precovers and Gorenstein injective preenvelopes between the category of left A-modules and the category of left A?H-modules.  相似文献

In this note we show that for a *n-module, in particular, an almost n-tilting module, P over a ring R with A = EndR P such that P A has finite flat dimension, the upper bound of the global dimension of A can be estimated by the global dimension of R and hence generalize the corresponding results in tilting theory and the ones in the theory of *-modules. As an application, we show that for a finitely generated projective module over a VN regular ring R, the global dimension of its endomorphism ring is not more than the global dimension of R.  相似文献

In this paper, we examine the pure Goldie dimension and dual pure Goldie dimension in finitely accessible additive categories. In particular, we show that if A is an object in a finitely accessible additive category 𝒜 that has finite pure Goldie dimension n and finite dual pure Goldie dimension m, then End𝒜(A) is semilocal and the dual Goldie dimension of End𝒜(A) is less than or equal to n+m.  相似文献

Let K be a field and let A be a finitely generated prime K-algebra. We generalize a result of Smith and Zhang, showing that if A is not PI and does not have a locally nilpotent ideal, then the extended centre of A has transcendence degree at most GKdim(A) ?2 over K. As a consequence, we are able to show that if A is a prime K-algebra of quadratic growth, then either the extended centre is algebraic over K or A is PI. Finally, we give an example of a finitely generated non-PI prime K-algebra of GK dimension 2 with a locally nilpotent ideal such that the extended centre has infinite transcendence degree over K.  相似文献

It is shown that the global dimension of any n-ary down-up algebra A n  = A(n,α, β,γ) is less than or equal to n + 2, and when γ i  = 0 for all i (A n is graded by total degree in the generators), then the global dimension of A n is n + 2. Furthermore, a sufficient condition for A n to be prime is given; when γ i  = 0 for all i this condition is also necessary. An example is given to show that the condition is not always necessary.  相似文献

Let H = X? R A denote an R-smash product of the two bialgebras X and A. We prove that (X,A) is a pair of matched bialgebras, if the R-smash product H has a braiding structure. When X is an associative algebra and A is a Hopf algebra, we investigate the global dimension and the weak dimension of the smash product H = X? R A and show that lD(H) ≤ rD(A) + lD(X) and wD(H) ≤ wD(A) + wD(X). As an application, we get lD(H 4) = ∞ for Sweedler's four dimensional Hopf algebra H 4. We also study the associativity of smash products and the relations between smash products and factorization for algebras.  相似文献

Let A have a locally finite and multiparameter indexed filtration ?, and let B be a homomorphic image of A. Thus B has the locally finite and multiparameter indexed filtration induced from ?. Here we study a relation between the associated graded algebra of A and that of B and use this result to calculate the Gelfand–Kirillov dimension of several algebras related to quantized algebras and Poisson enveloping algebras.  相似文献

In this paper, we show that if H is a finite-dimensional Hopf algebra such that H and H^* are semisimple, then gl.dim(A#σH)=gl.dim(A), where a is a convolution invertible cocycle. We also discuss the relationship of global dimensions between the crossed product A^#σH and the algebra A, where A is coacted by H. Dually, we give a sufficient condition for a finite dimensional coalgebra C and a finite dimensional semisimple Hopf algebra H such that gl.dim(C α H)=gl.dim(C).  相似文献

We show that under some conditions on a family A ? I there exists a subfamily A0 ? A such that ∪ A0 is nonmeasurable with respect to a fixed ideal I with Borel base of a fixed uncountable Polish space. Our result applies to the classical ideal of null subsets of the real line and to the ideal of first category subsets of the real line (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

Let A be a QF-3 standardly stratified algebra and f be a Schur functor corresponding to some projective-injective faithful A-module, denoted by Ae. The main result of this paper is to prove that, if the dominant dimension of A is sufficiently large, then ] induces a full embedding from £(△) to eAe-mod which preserves Ext-groups up to certain degrees, where £(△) denotes the full subcategory of A-mod whose objects are filtered by standard A-modules. We check this criterion on some typical examples, quantized Schur algebras Sq(n,r) with n≥r and finite-dimensional algebras associated with the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand category O of semisimple complex Lie algebras.  相似文献

When the base connected cochain DG algebra is cohomologically bounded, it is proved that the difference between the amplitude of a compact DG module and that of the DG algebra is just the projective dimension of that module. This yields the unboundedness of the cohomology of non-trivial regular DG algebras. When A is a regular DG algebra such that H(A) is a Koszul graded algebra, H(A) is proved to have the finite global dimension. And we give an example to illustrate that the global dimension of H(A) may be infinite, if the condition that H(A) is Koszul is weakened to the condition that A is a Koszul DG algebra. For a general regular DG algebra A, we give some equivalent conditions for the Gorensteiness. For a finite connected DG algebra A, we prove that Dc(A) and Dc(A op) admit Auslander-Reiten triangles if and only if A and A op are Gorenstein DG algebras. When A is a non-trivial regular DG algebra such that H(A) is locally finite, Dc(A) does not admit Auslander-Reiten triangles. We turn to study the existence of Auslander-Reiten triangles in Dlfb(A) and Dlfb (A op) instead, when A is a regular DG algebra. For a d ×d expanding matrix A, we de.ne a pseudo‐norm w (x) in terms of A and use this pseudo‐norm (instead of the Euclidean norm) to define the Hausdorff measure and the Hausdorff dimension dimw H E for subsets E in R d . We show that this new approach gives convenient estimations to the classical Hausdorff dimension dimw H E, and in the case that the eigenvalues of A have the same modulus, then dimw H E and dimH E coincide. This setup is particularly useful to study self‐affine sets T generated by ?j (x) = A–1(x +dj), dj ∈ R d , j = 1, …, N. We use it to investigate the fractality of T for the case that {?j }N j =1 satisfying the open set condition as well as the cases without the open set condition. We extend some well‐known results in the self‐similar sets to the self‐af.ne sets. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)  相似文献

In this article, we are concerned with the study of the dimension theory of tensor products of algebras over a field k. We introduce and investigate the notion of generalized AF-domain (GAF-domain for short) and prove that any k-algebra A such that the polynomial ring in one variable A[X] is an AF-domain is in fact a GAF-domain, in particular any AF-domain is a GAF-domain. Moreover, we compute the Krull dimension of A? k B for any k-algebra A such that A[X] is an AF-domain and any k-algebra B generalizing the main theorem of Wadsworth in [16 Wadsworth , A. R. ( 1979 ).
