In this paper we study a quasilinear elliptic problem with the Dirichlet boundary condition in a bounded domain involving the operator Au=−ΔpuΔqu. Assuming that the nonlinearity has a concave-convex behavior we obtain some multiplicity results. More precisely, we obtain five nontrivial solutions; two by a minimization argument, two by the mountain pass theorem, and the other by a cohomological linking theorem.  相似文献

We consider a semilinear Neumann problem with an asymptotically linear reaction term. We assume that resonance occurs at infinity. Using variational methods based on the critical point theory, together with the reduction technique and Morse theory, we show that the problem has at least four nontrivial smooth solutions.  相似文献

It is well known that the biharmonic equation Δ2u=u|u|p−1 with p∈(1,∞) has positive solutions on Rn if and only if the growth of the nonlinearity is critical or supercritical. We close a gap in the existing literature by proving the existence and uniqueness, up to scaling and symmetry, of oscillatory radial solutions on Rn in the subcritical case. Analyzing the nodal properties of these solutions, we also obtain precise information about sign-changing large radial solutions and radial solutions of the Dirichlet problem on a ball.  相似文献

Consider the system of Euler-Poisson as a model for the time evolution of gaseous stars through the self-induced gravitational force. We study the existence, uniqueness and multiplicity of stationary solutions for some velocity fields and entropy function that solve the conservation of mass and energy a priori. These results generalize the previous works on the irrotational or the rotational gaseous stars around an axis, and then they hold in more general physical settings. Under the assumption of radial symmetry, the monotonicity properties of the radius of the gas with respect to either the strength of the velocity field or the center density are also given which yield the uniqueness under some circumstances.  相似文献

We investigate entire radial solutions of the semilinear biharmonic equation Δ2u=λexp(u) in Rn, n?5, λ>0 being a parameter. We show that singular radial solutions of the corresponding Dirichlet problem in the unit ball cannot be extended as solutions of the equation to the whole of Rn. In particular, they cannot be expanded as power series in the natural variable s=log|x|. Next, we prove the existence of infinitely many entire regular radial solutions. They all diverge to −∞ as |x|→∞ and we specify their asymptotic behaviour. As in the case with power-type nonlinearities [F. Gazzola, H.-Ch. Grunau, Radial entire solutions for supercritical biharmonic equations, Math. Ann. 334 (2006) 905-936], the entire singular solution x?−4log|x| plays the role of a separatrix in the bifurcation picture. Finally, a technique for the computer assisted study of a broad class of equations is developed. It is applied to obtain a computer assisted proof of the underlying dynamical behaviour for the bifurcation diagram of a corresponding autonomous system of ODEs, in the case n=5.  相似文献

We study the existence of multiple solutions for a quasilinear elliptic system of gradient type with critical growth and the possibility of coupling on the subcritical term. The solutions are obtained from a version of the Symmetric Mountain Pass Theorem. We consider the boundary value problem Δu+up=0 in a bounded, smooth domain Ω in R2 with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition and p a large exponent. We find topological conditions on Ω which ensure the existence of a positive solution up concentrating at exactly m points as p→∞. The aim of this paper is to establish a multiplicity result for an eigenvalue non-homogeneous Neumann problem which involves a nonlinearity fulfilling a nonstandard growth condition. Precisely, a recent critical points result for differentiable functionals is exploited in order to prove the existence of a determined open interval of positive eigenvalues for which the problem admits at least three weak solutions in an appropriate Orlicz-Sobolev space.  相似文献

In this paper, some mixed sublinear-superlinear critical problem extending the famous problem of Brezis–Nirenberg are analysed. The existence of solutions is discussed. A phase plane analysis is performed in order to transform the problem into an ordinary differential equation. The Ginzburg-Landau-Allen-Cahn equation is a variational model for phase coexistence and for other physical problems. It contains a term given by a kinetic part of elliptic type plus a double-well potential. We assume that the functional depends on the space variables in a periodic way.We show that given a plane with rational normal, there are minimal solutions, satisfying the following properties. These solutions are asymptotic to the pure phases and are separated by an interface. The convergence to the pure phases is exponentially fast. The interface lies at a finite distance M from the chosen plane, where M is a universal constant. Furthermore, these solutions satisfy some monotonicity properties with respect to integer translations (namely, integer translations are always comparable to the function).We then show that all the interfaces of the global periodic minimizers satisfy similar monotonicity and plane-like properties.We also consider the case of possibly irrationally oriented planes. We show that either there is a one parameter family of minimizers whose graphs provide a field of extremals or there are at least two solutions, one which is a minimizer and another one which is not. These solutions also have interfaces bounded by a universal constant, they enjoy monotonicity properties with respect to integer translations and the nonminimal solutions are trapped inside a gap of the lamination induced by the minimizers.  相似文献

In this work we consider the first boundary value problem for a parabolic equation of second order with a small parameter on a half-axis (i.e., we consider the one-dimensional case). We take the zero initial condition. We construct the global (that is, the caustic points are taken into account) asymptotics of a solution for the boundary value problem. The asymptotic solution of this problem has a different structure depending on the sign of the coefficient (the drift coefficient) at the derivative of first order at a boundary point. The hypothesis on f(z,x) does not imply the coercivity of the corresponding Euler functional. We investigate the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary value problem for a class of second-order nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations with a gradient term and singular data. Under general conditions on the data, we study the behaviour of the solution near the boundary of the domain.
