We provide methods and algorithms to construct Hermitian linear complementary dual (LCD) codes over finite fields. We study existence of self-dual basis with respect to Hermitian inner product, and as an application, we construct Euclidean LCD codes by projecting the Hermitian codes over such a basis. Many optimal quaternary Hermitian and ternary Euclidean LCD codes are obtained. Comparisons with classical constructions are made.  相似文献

Finite commutative semi-simple rings are direct sum of finite fields. In this study, we investigate the algebraic structure of λ-constacyclic codes over such finite semi-simple rings. Among others, necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of self-dual, LCD, and Hermitian dual-containing λ-constacyclic codes over finite semi-simple rings are provided. Using the CSS and Hermitian constructions, quantum MDS codes over finite semi-simple rings are constructed.  相似文献

Combinatorial designs have been used widely in the construction of self-dual codes. Recently a new method of constructing self-dual codes was established using orthogonal designs. This method has led to the construction of many new self-dual codes over small finite fields and rings. In this paper, we generalize this method by using generalized orthogonal designs, and we give another new method that creates and solves Diophantine equations over GF(p) in order to find suitable generator matrices for self-dual codes. We show that under the necessary conditions these methods can be applied as well to small and large fields. We apply these two methods to study self-dual codes over GF(31) and GF(37). Using these methods we obtain some new maximum distance separable self-dual codes of small orders.  相似文献

Linear complementary dual codes were defined by Massey in 1992, and were used to give an optimum linear coding solution for the two user binary adder channel. In this paper, we define the analog of LCD codes over fields in the ambient space with mixed binary and quaternary alphabets. These codes are additive, in the sense that they are additive subgroups, rather than linear as they are not vector spaces over some finite field. We study the structure of these codes and we use the canonical Gray map from this space to the Hamming space to construct binary LCD codes in certain cases. We give examples of such binary LCD codes which are distance-optimal, i.e., they have the largest minimum distance among all binary LCD codes with the same length and dimension.  相似文献

In this paper, LCD cyclic, self dual and isodual codes over finite chain rings are investigated. It was proven recently that a non-free LCD cyclic code does not exist over finite chain rings. Based on algebraic number theory, we introduce necessary and sufficient conditions for which all free cyclic codes over a finite chain ring are LCD. We have also obtained conditions on the existence of non trivial self dual cyclic codes of any length when the nilpotency index of the maximal ideal of a finite chain ring is even. Further, several constructions of isodual codes are given based on the factorization of the polynomial xn1 over a finite chain ring.  相似文献

Cyclic codes and their various generalizations, such as quasi-twisted (QT) codes, have a special place in algebraic coding theory. Among other things, many of the best-known or optimal codes have been obtained from these classes. In this work we introduce a new generalization of QT codes that we call multi-twisted (MT) codes and study some of their basic properties. Presenting several methods of constructing codes in this class and obtaining bounds on the minimum distances, we show that there exist codes with good parameters in this class that cannot be obtained as QT or constacyclic codes. This suggests that considering this larger class in computer searches is promising for constructing codes with better parameters than currently best-known linear codes. Working with this new class of codes motivated us to consider a problem about binomials over finite fields and to discover a result that is interesting in its own right.  相似文献

Cyclic codes are an interesting type of linear codes and have wide applications in communication and storage systems due to their efficient encoding and decoding algorithms. It was proved that asymptotically good Hermitian LCD codes exist. The objective of this paper is to construct some cyclic Hermitian LCD codes over finite fields and analyse their parameters. The dimensions of these codes are settled and the lower bounds on their minimum distances are presented. Most Hermitian LCD codes presented in this paper are not BCH codes.  相似文献

We give a new concatenated type construction for linear codes with complementary dual (LCD) over small finite fields. In this construction,we need a special class of inner codes that we call isometry codes. Our construction generalizes a recent construction of Carlet et al. (2014–2016) and of Güneri et al. (2016). One of the most important problems of coding theory is to construct codes with best possible minimum distances. Recently, quasi-cyclic (QC) codes have been proven to contain many such codes. In this paper, we consider quasi-twisted (QT) codes, which are generalizations of QC codes, and their structural properties and obtain new codes which improve minimum distances of best known linear codes over the finite fields GF(3) and GF(5). Moreover, we give a BCH-type bound on minimum distance for QT codes and give a sufficient condition for a QT code to be equivalent to a QC code.  相似文献

In 1985, Gabidulin introduced the rank metric in coding theory over finite fields, and used this kind of codes in a McEliece cryptosystem, six years later. In this paper, we consider rank metric codes over Galois rings. We propose a suitable metric for codes over such rings, and show its main properties. With this metric, we define Gabidulin codes over Galois rings, propose an efficient decoding algorithm for them, and hint their cryptographic application.  相似文献

Abraham Lempel et al^[1] made a connection between linear codes and systems of bilinear forms over finite fields. In this correspondence, a new simple proof of a theorem in [1] is presented; in addition, the encoding process and the decoding procedure of RS codes are simplified via circulant matrices. Linear codes over finite extension fields have widespread applications in theory and practice. In some scenarios, the decoder has a sequential access to the codeword symbols, giving rise to a hierarchical erasure structure. In this paper we develop a mathematical framework for hierarchical erasures over extension fields, provide several bounds and constructions, and discuss potential applications in distributed storage and flash memories. Our results show intimate connection to Universally Decodable Matrices, as well as to Reed-Solomon and Gabidulin codes.  相似文献

In this paper, a Roos like bound on the minimum distance for skew cyclic codes over a general field is provided. The result holds in the Hamming metric and in the rank metric. The proofs involve arithmetic properties of skew polynomials and an analysis of the rank of parity-check matrices. For the rank metric case, a way to arithmetically construct codes with a prescribed minimum rank distance, using the skew Roos bound, is also given. Moreover, some examples of MDS codes and MRD codes over finite fields are built, using the skew Roos bound.  相似文献

MDS self-dual codes over finite fields have attracted a lot of attention in recent years by their theoretical interests in coding theory and applications in cryptography and combinatorics. In this paper we present a series of MDS self-dual codes with new length by using generalized Reed-Solomon codes and extended generalized Reed-Solomon codes as the candidates of MDS codes and taking their evaluation sets as a union of cyclotomic classes.
