We derive a linearization theorem in the framework of dynamic equations on time scales. This extends a recent result from [Y. Xia, J. Cao, M. Han, A new analytical method for the linearization of dynamic equation on measure chains, J. Differential Equations 235 (2007) 527-543] in various directions: Firstly, in our setting the linear part need not to be hyperbolic and due to the existence of a center manifold this leads to a generalized global Hartman-Grobman theorem for nonautonomous problems. Secondly, we investigate the behavior of the topological conjugacy under parameter variation.These perturbation results are tailor-made for future applications in analytical discretization theory, i.e., to study the relationship between ODEs and numerical schemes applied to them.  相似文献

A new notion of shadowing of a pseudo orbit, an approximate solution, of an autonomous system of ordinary differential equations by an associated nearby true orbit is introduced. We consider scalar functional differential inequalities that are used to estimate solutions to differential equations with deviating argument. A theorem on positiveness of the Cauchy function of a differential equation with aftereffect is derived from a theorem on a functional differential inequality with nonlinearmonotone operator, which is a direct generalization of the simplest classical theorem on a differential inequality. The suggested proofs rely on local properties of continuous functions only.  相似文献

A boundary initial value problem for a quasi-linear hyperbolic system in one space variable is coupled to a boundary initial value problem for a quasi-linear parabolic equation in two space variables. The coupling occurs through one of the boundary conditions for the hyperbolic system and the source term in the parabolic equation. Such a coupling can arise in the consideration of gas flowing in a porous medium and out of that medium via a pipe. A local existence and uniqueness theorem is demonstrated. The proof involves the method of characteristics, Bernstein's estimates for parabolic partial differential equations, and the contracting mapping theorem.  相似文献

The paper deals with a generalized Cauchy problem for quasi-linear hyperbolic functional differential systems. The unknown function is the functional variable in the system of equations and the partial derivatives appear in the classical sense. A theorem on the local existence of a solution is proved. The initial problem is transformed into a system of functional integral equations for an unknown function and for their partial derivatives with respect to spatial variables. A method of bicharacteristics and integral inequalites are applied.  相似文献

A rigorous numerical method for establishing the existence of a transversal connecting orbit from one hyperbolic periodic orbit to another of a differential equation in is presented. As the first component of this method, a general shadowing theorem that guarantees the existence of such a connecting orbit near a suitable pseudo connection orbit given the invertibility of a certain operator is proved. The second component consists of a refinement procedure for numerically computing a pseudo connecting orbit between two pseudo periodic orbits with sufficiently small local errors so as to satisfy the hypothesis of the theorem. The third component consists of a numerical procedure to verify the invertibility of the operator and obtain a rigorous upper bound for the norm of its inverse. Using this method, existence of chaos is demonstrated on examples with transversal homoclinic orbits, and with cycles of transversal heteroclinic orbits.  相似文献

We study bifurcations of homoclinic orbits to hyperbolic saddle equilibria in a class of four-dimensional systems which may be Hamiltonian or not. Only one parameter is enough to treat these types of bifurcations in Hamiltonian systems but two parameters are needed in general systems. We apply a version of Melnikov?s method due to Gruendler to obtain saddle-node and pitchfork types of bifurcation results for homoclinic orbits. Furthermore we prove that if these bifurcations occur, then the variational equations around the homoclinic orbits are integrable in the meaning of differential Galois theory under the assumption that the homoclinic orbits lie on analytic invariant manifolds. We illustrate our theories with an example which arises as stationary states of coupled real Ginzburg–Landau partial differential equations, and demonstrate the theoretical results by numerical ones.  相似文献

The work presents the qualitative analysis of the free boundary value problem related to the invasion model for multispecies biofilms. This model is based on the continuum approach for biofilm modeling and consists of a system of nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential equations for microbial species growth and spreading, a system of semilinear elliptic partial differential equations describing the substrate trends and a system of semilinear elliptic partial differential equations accounting for the diffusion and reaction of motile species within the biofilm. The free boundary evolution is regulated by a nonlinear ordinary differential equation. Overall, this leads to a free boundary value problem essentially hyperbolic. By using the method of characteristics, the partial differential equations constituting the invasion model are converted to Volterra integral equations. Then, the fixed point theorem is used for the uniqueness and existence result. The work is completed with numerical simulations describing the invasion of nitrite oxidizing bacteria in a biofilm initially constituted by ammonium oxidizing bacteria.  相似文献

We show that certain derived-from-Anosov diffeomorphisms on the 2-torus may be realized as the dynamics on a center-stable or center-unstable torus of a 3-dimensional strongly partially hyperbolic system. State-dependent impulsive differential equations can be used to describe phenomena in which the velocity of an object suddenly changes when the object enters a predetermined state. This study examines the effect of state-dependent impulses on the rotation of all orbits of the Liénard system, which plays an important role in many research areas, including electrical circuits, diverse engineering fields, economics, ecology, and physiology. Determining whether all orbits of the Liénard system other than the origin, which is the only fixed point, rotate around the origin, is the basis of other properties of the orbit and has become a significant research subject; however, very few studies have examined the effects of state-dependent impulses on this behavior, and the main theorem presented in this paper addresses this. This rotation problem is reduced to establishing whether all orbits intersect the vertical isocline, which is discussed in detail. To facilitate the understanding of the proof of the main theorem, an overview is presented before providing the actual proof. The main theorem and some lemmas are proved using phase plane analysis. The application of the main theorem to Euler’s equations is also described.  相似文献

A class of linear stochastic retarded functional differential equations is considered. These equations have diffusion coefficients that do not look into the past. It is shown that the trajectories of such equations form a continuous linear cocycle on the underlying state space. At times greater than the delay the cocycle is almost surely compact. Consequently, using an infinite-dimensional Oseledec multiplicative ergodic theorem of Ruelle, the existence of a countable non-random Lyapunov spectrum is proved. In the hyperbolic case it is shown that the state space admits an almost sure saddle-point splitting which is cocycle-invariant and corresponds to an exponential dichotomy for the stochastic flow  相似文献

In this work, we study the existence of almost automorphic solutions for some partial functional differential equations. We prove that the existence of a bounded solution on R+ implies the existence of an almost automorphic solution. Our results extend the classical known theorem by Bohr and Neugebauer on the existence of almost periodic solutions for inhomegeneous linear almost periodic differential equations. We give some applications to hyperbolic equations and Lotka-Volterra type equations used to describe the evolution of a single diffusive animal species.  相似文献

A general theorem on conservation laws for arbitrary differential equations is proved. The theorem is valid also for any system of differential equations where the number of equations is equal to the number of dependent variables. The new theorem does not require existence of a Lagrangian and is based on a concept of an adjoint equation for non-linear equations suggested recently by the author. It is proved that the adjoint equation inherits all symmetries of the original equation. Accordingly, one can associate a conservation law with any group of Lie, Lie-Bäcklund or non-local symmetries and find conservation laws for differential equations without classical Lagrangians.  相似文献

For the two-dimensional Lin-Reissner-Tsien equation, which describes nonstationary gas flows, we construct new classes of solutions with functional arbitrariness in the form of series in powers of specially chosen functions. Coefficients of such series are found successively as solutions of linear ordinary differential equations or as solutions of linear partial differential equations. The use of special series whose coefficients are determined by linear partial differential equations allowed us to satisfy two given additional boundary conditions exactly. For one class of flows, these coefficients were found in an explicit form from linear equations of the hyperbolic type; for another one, they were found from linear equations of the parabolic type. This circumstance was used to prove the convergence of such series and to study the asymptotics of the solutions constructed. We present results of numerical calculations on nonstationary transonic flow around a wedge.  相似文献

In this paper, some results concerning the existence of optimal solutions to an optimal control problem are derived. The problem involves a quasilinear hyperbolic differential equation with boundary condition and a nonlinear integral functional of action. The assumption of convexity, under which the main theorem is proved, is not connected directly with the convexity of the functional of action. Asymptotic relations between the solutions of a linear autonomous functional differential equation and the solutions of the corresponding perturbed equation are established. In the scalar case, it is shown that the existence of a nonoscillatory solution of the perturbed equation often implies the existence of a real eigenvalue of the limiting equation. The proofs are based on a recent Perron type theorem for functional differential equations.  相似文献
