Global boundary regularity for the $ \bar \partial $‐equation on q‐pseudoconvex domains

We introduce a notion of q ‐pseudoconvex domain of new type for a bounded domain of ?ⁿ and prove that for given a ‐closed (p, r)‐form, r ≥ q, that is smooth up to the boundary, there exists a (p, r – 1)‐form smooth up to the boundary which is a solution of ‐equation on a bounded q ‐pseudoconvex domain. On bounded solutions to convolution equations

Periodicity of bounded solutions for convolution equations on a separable abelian metric group is established, and related Liouville type theorems are obtained. A non-constant Borel and bounded harmonic function is constructed for an arbitrary convolution semigroup on any infinite-dimensional separable Hilbert space, generalizing a classical result by Goodman (1973).

     

The Toda molecule equation and the -algorithm

One of the well-known convergence acceleration methods, the -algorithm is investigated from the viewpoint of the Toda molecule equation. It is shown that the error caused by the algorithm is evaluated by means of solutions for the equation. The acceleration algorithm based on the discrete Toda molecule equation is also presented.

     

Isometric immersions from the hyperbolic space

In this paper, we transform the problem of determining isometric immersions from into into that of solving a degenerate Monge-Ampère equation on the unit disc. By presenting one family of special solutions to the equation, we obtain a great many noncongruent examples of such isometric immersions with or without umbilic set.

     

Sturm theorems for degenerate elliptic equations

We employ a version of the Picone Identity, suitable for the -Laplacean, to obtain a Sturm Comparison Theorem for generalized solutions. This answers a question posed by Dunninger in 1995.
