In this article, we analyze convergence and supercloseness properties of a class of weak Galerkin (WG) finite element methods for solving second‐order elliptic problems. It is shown that the WG solution is superclose to the Lagrange interpolant using Lobatto points. This supercloseness behavior is obtained through some newly designed stabilization terms. A postprocessing technique using polynomial preserving recovery (PPR) is introduced for the WG approximation. Superconvergence analysis is performed for the PPR recovered gradient. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate our theoretical results.  相似文献

For a model elhptic boundary value problem we will prove that on strongly regular families of uniform tetrahedral partitions of a pohyhedral domain, the gradient of the quadratic finite element approximation is superclose to the gradient of the quadratic La-grange interpolant of the exact solution. This supercloseness will be used to construct a post-processing that increases the order of approximation to the gradient in the global L^2-norm。  相似文献

For a variable coefficient elliptic boundary value problem in three dimensions, using the properties of the bubble function and the element cancelation technique, we derive the weak estimate of the first type for tetrahedral quadratic elements. In addition, the estimate for the W1,1‐seminorm of the discrete derivative Green's function is also given. Finally, we show that the derivatives of the finite element solution uh and the corresponding interpolant Π2u are superclose in the pointwise sense of the L‐norm. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper, we shall investigate the superconvergence property of quadratic elliptical optimal control problems by triangular mixed finite element methods. The state and co-state are approximated by the order k = 1 Raviart-Thomas mixed finite elements and the control is discretized by piecewise constant functions. We prove the superconvergence error estimate of h2 in L2-norm between the approximated solution and the interpolation of the exact control variable. Moreover, by postprocessing technique, we find that the projection of the discrete adjoint state is superclose (in order h2) to the exact control variable.  相似文献

In this paper, we define a new nonconforming quadrilateral finite element based on the nonconforming rotated Q1 element by enforcing a constraint on each element, which has only three degrees of freedom. We investigate the consistency, approximation, superclose property, discrete Green's function and superconvergence of this element. Moreover, we propose a new postprocessing technique and apply it to this element. It is proved that the postprocessed discrete solution is superconvergent under a mild assumption on the mesh.  相似文献

We consider a superconvergence analysis for quadratic finite element approximations of the Stokes–Darcy system. The superclose property of an extra half order is proven for uniform triangular meshes. Based on the result of the superclose property, global superconvergence is derived by applying a postprocessing technique. A nonconforming mixed finite element scheme is proposed for Sobolev equations based on a new mixed variational form under semi-discrete and Euler fully-discrete schemes. The corresponding optimal convergence error estimates and superclose property are obtained without using Ritz projection, which are the same as the traditional mixed finite elements. Furthemore, the global superconvergence is obtained through interpolation postprocessing technique. The numerical results show the validity of the theoretical analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a two-grid mixed finite element scheme for distributed optimal control governed by general elliptic equations. –P1 mixed finite elements are used for the discretization of the state and co-state variables, whereas piecewise constant function is used to approximate the control variable. We first use a new approach to obtain the superclose property between the centroid interpolation and the numerical solution of the optimal control u with order h2 under the low regularity. Based on the superclose property, we derive the optimal a priori error estimates. Then, using a postprocessing projection operator, we get a second-order superconvergent result for the control u. Next, we construct a two-grid mixed finite element scheme and analyze a priori error estimates. In the two-grid scheme, the solution of the elliptic optimal control problem on a fine grid is reduced to the solution of the elliptic optimal control problem on a much coarser grid and the solution of a linear algebraic system on the fine grid and the resulting solution still maintains an asymptotically optimal accuracy. Finally, a numerical example is presented to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

In this article, we first introduce interpolation operator of projection type in three dimensions, from which we then derive weak estimates for tensor‐product block finite elements of degree m ≥ 1.
