We study a map of osculating elements of an affine Cayley- Klein (CK-) plane into the Lie algebraA 4(2) of the aequiform transformationsA 4(2) of the given plane. If we use the real projective spaceP 3() overA 4(2) each osculating element defines a straight line inP 3(). In the first part of this paper this map is studied in detail. In the second part we study second order properties of one- parameter motions and their corresponding properties in the Lie algebraA 4(2). This is done by considering the analogen to the formula of EULERSAVARY in the image spaceP 3() overA 4(2).  相似文献

We prove the basic A r ()-weighted imbedding inequalities for A-harmonic tensors. These results can be used to estimate the integrals for A-harmonic tensors and to study the integrability of A-harmonic tensors and the properties of the homotopy operator T: C (D, l )C (D, l–1).  相似文献

We consider the numberN A (r) of subgroups of orderp r ofA, whereA is a finite Abelianp-group of type =1,2,..., l ()), i.e. the direct sum of cyclic groups of order ii. Formulas for computingN A (r) are well known. Here we derive a recurrence relation forN A (r), which enables us to prove a conjecture of P. E. Dyubyuk about congruences betweenN A (r) and the Gaussian binomial coefficient .  相似文献

In this paper we generalize the plus-construction given by M. Livernet for algebras over rational differential graded operads to the framework of cofibrant operads over an arbitrary ring (the category of algebras over such operads admits a closed model category structure). We follow the modern approach of J. Berrick and C. Casacuberta defining topological plus-construction as a nullification with respect to a universal acyclic space. We construct a universalH *Q-acyclic algebra and we define A A+ as the -nullification of the algebra A. This map induces an isomorphism in Quillen homology and quotients out the maximal perfect ideal of 0(A). As an application, we consider for any associative algebra R the plus-constructions of gl(R) in the categories of homotopy Lie and homotopy Leibniz algebras. This gives rise to two new homology theories for associative algebras, namely homotopy cyclic and homotopy Hochschild homologies. Over the rationals these theories coincide with the classical cyclic and Hochschild homologies.Primary: 19D06, 19D55; Secondary: 18D50, 18G55, 55P60, 55U35Received March 2003  相似文献

Let M n =X1+...+Xn be a martingale with bounded differences Xm=Mm-Mm-1 such that {|Xm| m}=1 with some nonnegative m. Write 2= 1 2 + ... + n 2 . We prove the inequalities {M nx}c(1-(x/)), {M n x} 1- c(1- (-x/)) with a constant . The result yields sharp inequalities in some models related to the measure concentration phenomena.  相似文献

In this paper three Banach spacesA 0(),A andA 1() of functions holomorphic in the unit ballB of n are defined. We exhibit bounded projections fromC 0(B) ontoA 0(), fromL 1(B) ontoA 1(), and fromL(B) ontoA(). Using these projections, we show thatA 0()* A 1() andA 1()* A().Supported in part by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.  相似文献

For a graphG, letp(G) andc(G) denote the length of a longest path and cycle, respectively. Let (t,n) be the minimum ofp(G), whereG ranges over allt-tough connected graphs onn vertices. Similarly, let (t,n) be the minimum ofc(G), whereG ranges over allt-tough 2-connected graphs onn vertices. It is shown that for fixedt>0 there exist constantsA, B such that (t,n)A·log(n) and (t,n)·log((t,n))B·log(n). Examples are presented showing that fort1 there exist constantsA, B such that (t,n)A·log(n) and (t,n)B· log(n). It is conjectured that (t,n) B·log(n) for some constantB. This conjecture is shown to be valid within the class of 3-connected graphs and, as conjectured in Bondy [1] forl=3, within the class of 2-connectedK 1.l-free graphs, wherel is fixed.  相似文献

Let M be a compact connected manifold of dimension n endowed witha conformal class C ofRiemannian metrics of volume one. For any integer k 0, we consider the conformal invariant k c (C) defined as the supremum of the k-th eigenvalue k (g) of the Laplace–Beltrami operator g , where g runs over C.First, we give a sharp universal lower bound for k c (C) extending to all k a result obtained by Friedlander andNadirashvili for k = 1. Then, we show that the sequence \{ k c (C)\}, that we call `conformal spectrum',is strictly increasing and satisfies, k 0, k+1 c (C) n/2 k c (C) n/2 n n/2 n , where n is the volume of the n-dimensionalstandard sphere. When M is an orientable surface of genus , we also considerthe supremum k top()of k (g) over theset of all the area one Riemannian metrics on M, and study thebehavior of k top() in terms of .  相似文献

A permutation set (M, I) consisting of a setM and a set of permutations ofM, is calledsymmetric, if for any two permutations, the existence of anx M with (x) (x) and –1 (x) = –1 (x) implies –1 = –1 , andsharply 3-transitive, if for any two triples (x 1,x 2,x 3), (y 1,y 2,y 3) M 3 with|{x 1,x 2,x 3 }| = |{y 1,y 2,y 3 }| = 3 there is exactly one permutation with(x 1) =y 1,(x 2) =y 2,(x 3) =y 3. The following theorem will be proved.THEOREM.Let (M, ) be a sharply 3-transitive symmetric permutation set with |M|3, such that contains the identity. Then is a group and there is a commutative field K such that and the projective linear group PGL(2, K) are isomorphic.  相似文献

Let < SL n ( ) be a subgroup of finite index, where n 5. Suppose acts continuously on a manifold M, where 1(M) = n , preserving a measure that is positive on open sets. Further assume that the induced action on H 1(M) is non-trivial. We show there exists a finite index subgroup < and a equivariant continuous map : M n that induces an isomorphism on fundamental group. We prove more general results providing continuous quotients in cases where 1(M) surjects onto a finitely generated torsion free nilpotent group. We also give some new examples of manifolds with actions.  相似文献

Summary Let X(t)=(X 1 (t), X 2 (t), , X t (t)) be a k-type (2k<) continuous time, supercritical, nonsingular, positively regular Markov branching process. Let M(t)=((m ij (t))) be the mean matrix where m ij (t)=E(X j (t)¦X r (0)= ir for r=1, 2, , k) and write M(t)=exp(At). Let be an eigenvector of A corresponding to an eigenvalue . Assuming second moments this paper studies the limit behavior as t of the stochastic process . It is shown that i) if 2 Re >1, then · X(t)e{–t¦ converges a.s. and in mean square to a random variable. ii) if 2 Re 1 then [ · X(t)] f(v · X(t)) converges in law to a normal distribution where f(x)=(x) –1 if 2 Re <1 and f(x)=(x log x)–1 if 2 Re =1, 1 the largest real eigenvalue of A and v the corresponding right eigenvector.Research supported in part under contracts N0014-67-A-0112-0015 and NIH USPHS 10452 at Stanford University.  相似文献

Let A be a set of positive integers with gcd (A) = 1, and let p A (n) be the partition function of A. Let c 0 = 2/3. If A has lower asymptotic density and upper asymptotic density , then lim inf log p A (n)/c 0 n and lim sup log p A (n)/c 0 n . In particular, if A has asymptotic density > 0, then log p A (n) c0n. Conversely, if > 0 and log p A (n) c 0 n, then the set A has asymptotic density .  相似文献

Topological Hochschild homology is calculated for the rings /p[x]/(f(x)) (where p is prime and f(x) /p[x] any polynomial), [x]/(x n) and [x]/(x n–1). A spectral sequence argument is used for calculating the homology of the topological Hochschild homology spectrum, from which its stable homotopy structure can be read off since the spectrum is known for a priori reasons to be a restricted product of Eilenberg-MacLane spectra.  相似文献

Let X n1 * , ... X nn * be a sequence of n independent random variables which have a geometric distribution with the parameter p n = 1/n, and M n * = \max\{X n1 * , ... X nn * }. Let Z 1, Z2, Z3, ... be a sequence of independent random variables with the uniform distribution over the set N n = {1, 2, ... n}. For each j N n let us denote X nj = min{k : Zk = j}, M n = max{Xn1, ... Xnn}, and let S n be the 2nd largest among X n1, Xn2, ... Xnn. Using the methodology of verifying D(un) and D'(un) mixing conditions we prove herein that the maximum M n has the same type I limiting distribution as the maximum M n * and estimate the rate of convergence. The limiting bivariate distribution of (Sn, Mn) is also obtained. Let n, n Nn, , and T n = min{M(An), M(Bn)}. We determine herein the limiting distribution of random variable T n in the case n , n/n > 0, as n .  相似文献

Hermitian structures onA ring spaces are studied as necessary input data for HermitianK-theory of spaces. Especially 1/2-locally a coherence structure is derived for the involution onQ(M +),M a compact manifold, arising from the stable tangent bundle. The eventual goal is to lift the rational results of Burghelea-Fiedorowicz on the relation of the space of homotopy equivalences modulo homeomorphisms ofM and hermitianK-theory to 1/2-local ones.  相似文献

The imaginary powersA it of a closed linear operatorA, with inverse, in a Banach spaceX are considered as aC 0-group {exp(itlogA);t R} of bounded linear operators onX, with generatori logA. Here logA is defined as the closure of log(1+A) – log(1+A –1). LetA be a linearm-sectorial operator of typeS(tan ), 0(/2), in a Hilbert spaceX. That is, |Im(Au, u)| (tan )Re(Au, u) foru D(A). Then ±ilog(1+A) ism-accretive inX andilog(1+A) is the generator of aC 0-group {(1+A) it ;t R} of bounded imaginary powers, satisfying the estimate (1+A) it exp(|t|),t R. In particular, ifA is invertible, then ±ilogA ism-accretive inX, where logA is exactly given by logA=log(1+A)–log(1+A –1), and {A it;t R} forms aC 0-group onX, with the estimate A it exp(|t|),t R. This yields a slight improvement of the Heinz-Kato inequality.  相似文献

The solution of the eigenvalue problem is examined for the polyomial matrixD()=Aos+A1s–1+...+As when the matricesA 0 andA 2 (or one of them) are singular. A normalized process is used for solving the problem, permitting the determination of linearly independent eigenvectors corresponding to the zero eigenvalue of matrixD() and to the zero eigenvalue of matrixA 0. The computation of the other eigenvalues ofD() is reduced to the same problem for a constant matrix of lower dimension. An ALGOL program and test examples are presented.Translated from Zapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov Leningradskogo Otdeleniya Matematicheskogo Instituta im. V. A. For any locally compact groupG, we show that any locally tight homomorphism from a real directed semigroup intoM 1 (G) (semigroup of probability measures onG) has a shift which extends to a continuous one-parameter semigroup. IfG is ap-adic algebraic group then the above holds even iff is not locally tight. These results are applied to give sufficient conditions for embeddability of some translate of limits of sequences of the form {v n kn } and M 1 (G) such that ()= M , for somek>1 and AutG (cf. Theorems 2.1, 2.4, 3.7).  相似文献
