Consider the real Clifford algebra ${\mathbb{R}_{0,n}}$ generated by e 1, e 2, . . . , e n satisfying ${e_{i}e_{j} + e_{j}e_{i} = -2\delta_{ij} , i, j = 1, 2, . . . , n, e_{0}}$ is the unit element. Let ${\Omega}$ be an open set in ${\mathbb{R}^{n+1}}$ . u(x) is called an h-regular function in ${\Omega}$ if $$D_{x}u(x) + \widehat{u}(x)h = 0, \quad\quad (0.1)$$ where ${D_x = \sum\limits_{i=0}^{n} e_{i}\partial_{xi}}$ is the Dirac operator in ${\mathbb{R}^{n+1}}$ , and ${\widehat{u}(x) = \sum \limits_{A} (-1)^{\#A}u_{A}(x)e_{A}, \#A}$ denotes the cardinality of A and ${h = \sum\limits_{k=0}^{n} h_{k}e_{k}}$ is a constant paravector. In this paper, we mainly consider the Hilbert boundary value problem (BVP) for h-regular functions in ${\mathbb{R}_{+}^{n+1}}$ .  相似文献

Let ${\mathcal{D}}_{n,k} $ be the family of linear subspaces of ?n given by all equations of the form $\varepsilon _1 x_{i_1 } = \varepsilon _2 x_{i_2 } = \cdot \cdot \cdot \varepsilon _k x_{i_k } ,$ for 1 ≤ < ? ? ? < i ki and $\left( {\varepsilon _1 ,...,\varepsilon _k } \right)\varepsilon \left\{ { + 1, - 1} \right\}^k $ Also let ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h} $ be ${\mathcal{D}}_{n,k} $ enlarged by the subspaces $x_{j_1 } = x_{j_2 } = \cdot \cdot \cdot x_{j_h } = 0,$ for 1 ≤. The special cases ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,2,1} $ and ${\mathcal{D}}_{n,2} $ are well known as the reflection hyperplane arrangements corresponding to the Coxeter groups of type B nand D n respectively. In this paper we study combinatorial and topological properties of the intersection lattices of these subspace arrangements. Expressions for their Möbius functions and characteristic polynomials are derived. Lexicographic shellability is established in the case of ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h,} 1 \leqslant h < k$ , which allows computation of the homology of its intersection lattice and the cohomology groups of the manifold $\begin{gathered} {\mathcal{D}}_{n,2} \\ M_{n,k,h,} = {\mathbb{R}}^n \backslash \bigcup {{\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h,} } \\ \end{gathered} $ . For instance, it is shown that $H^d \left( {M_{n,k,k - 1} } \right)$ is torsion-free and is nonzero if and only if d = t(k ? 2) for some $t,0 \leqslant t \leqslant \left[ {{n \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {n k}} \right. \kern-0em} k}} \right]$ . Torsion-free cohomology follows also for the complement in ?nof the complexification ${\mathcal{B}}_{n,k,h}^C ,1 \leqslant h < k$ .  相似文献

Let {X k,i ; i ≥ 1, k ≥ 1} be a double array of nondegenerate i.i.d. random variables and let {p n ; n ≥ 1} be a sequence of positive integers such that n/p n is bounded away from 0 and ∞. In this paper we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for the asymptotic distribution of the largest entry ${L_{n}={\rm max}_{1\leq i < j\leq p_{n}}|\hat{\rho}^{(n)}_{i,j}|}$ of the sample correlation matrix ${{\bf {\Gamma}}_{n}=(\hat{\rho}_{i,j}^{(n)})_{1\leq i,j\leq p_{n}}}$ where ${\hat{\rho}^{(n)}_{i,j}}$ denotes the Pearson correlation coefficient between (X 1,i , ..., X n,i )′ and (X 1,j ,...,X n,j )′. Write ${F(x)= \mathbb{P}(|X_{1,1}|\leq x), x\geq0}$ , ${W_{c,n}={\rm max}_{1\leq i < j\leq p_{n}}|\sum_{k=1}^{n}(X_{k,i}-c)(X_{k,j}-c)|}$ , and ${W_{n}=W_{0,n},n\geq1,c\in(-\infty,\infty)}$ . Under the assumption that ${\mathbb{E}|X_{1,1}|^{2+\delta} < \infty}$ for some δ > 0, we show that the following six statements are equivalent: $$ {\bf (i)} \quad \lim_{n \to \infty} n^{2}\int\limits_{(n \log n)^{1/4}}^{\infty}\left( F^{n-1}(x) - F^{n-1}\left(\frac{\sqrt{n \log n}}{x}\right) \right) dF(x) = 0,$$ $$ {\bf (ii)}\quad n \mathbb{P}\left ( \max_{1 \leq i < j \leq n}|X_{1,i}X_{1,j} | \geq \sqrt{n \log n}\right ) \to 0 \quad{\rm as}\,n \to \infty,$$ $$ {\bf (iii)}\quad \frac{W_{\mu, n}}{\sqrt {n \log n}}\stackrel{\mathbb{P}}{\rightarrow} 2\sigma^{2},$$ $$ {\bf (iv)}\quad \left ( \frac{n}{\log n}\right )^{1/2} L_{n} \stackrel{\mathbb{P}}{\rightarrow} 2,$$ $$ {\bf (v)}\quad \lim_{n \rightarrow \infty}\mathbb{P}\left (\frac{W_{\mu, n}^{2}}{n \sigma^{4}} - a_{n}\leq t \right ) = \exp \left \{ - \frac{1}{\sqrt{8\pi}} e^{-t/2}\right \}, - \infty < t < \infty,$$ $$ {\bf (vi)}\quad \lim_{n \rightarrow \infty}\mathbb{P}\left (n L_{n}^{2} - a_{n}\leq t \right ) = \exp \left \{ - \frac{1}{\sqrt{8 \pi}} e^{-t/2}\right \}, - \infty < t < \infty$$ where ${\mu=\mathbb{E}X_{1,1}, \sigma^{2}=\mathbb{E}(X_{1,1} - \mu)^{2}}$ , and a n  = 4 log p n ? log log p n . The equivalences between (i), (ii), (iii), and (v) assume that only ${\mathbb{E}X_{1,1}^{2} < \infty}$ . Weak laws of large numbers for W n and L n , n ≥  1, are also established and these are of the form ${W_{n}/n^{\alpha}\stackrel{\mathbb{P}}{\rightarrow} 0}\,(\alpha > 1/2)$ and ${n^{1-\alpha}L_{n}\stackrel{\mathbb{P}}{\rightarrow} 0}\,(1/2 < \alpha \leq 1)$ , respectively. The current work thus provides weak limit analogues of the strong limit theorems of Li and Rosalsky as well as a necessary and sufficient condition for the asymptotic distribution of L n obtained by Jiang. Some open problems are also posed.  相似文献

Let W: ?→(0,∞) be continuous. DoesW admit a classical Jackson Theorem? That is, does there exist a sequence $\{ \eta _n \} _{n = 1}^\infty $ of positive numbers with limit 0 such that for 1≤p≤∞, $\mathop {\inf }\limits_{\deg (P) \le n} ||(f - P)W||_{L_p (R)} \le \eta n||f'W||_{L_p (R)} $ for all absolutely continuousf with $||f'W||_{L_p (R)} $ finite? We show that such a theorem is true iff both $\mathop {\lim }\limits_{\chi \to \infty } W(\chi )\int_0^\chi {W^{ - 1} } = 0$ and $\mathop {\lim }\limits_{\chi \to \infty } W^{ - 1} (\chi )\int_\chi ^\infty W = 0,$ with analogous limits asx→?∞. In particular,W(x)=exp(?|x|) does not admit a Jackson theorem of this type. We also construct weights that admit anL 1 but not anL Jackson theorem (or conversely).  相似文献

The paper studies the series $\sum\limits_{n = 0}^\infty {a_n } W_n (x)$ by Walsh system, where |a n | monotone tends to zero and $\sum\limits_{n = 1}^\infty {a_{_n }^2 } = \infty $ . Some theorems on correction in L 1 and representability of functions from L p , p ∈ (0, 1) by subseries of the Walsh series are proved.  相似文献

We consider the Markov chain ${\{X_n^x\}_{n=0}^\infty}$ on ${\mathbb{R}^d}$ defined by the stochastic recursion ${X_{n}^{x}= \psi_{\theta_{n}} (X_{n-1}^{x})}$ , starting at ${x\in\mathbb{R}^d}$ , where ?? 1, ?? 2, . . . are i.i.d. random variables taking their values in a metric space ${(\Theta, \mathfrak{r})}$ , and ${\psi_{\theta_{n}} :\mathbb{R}^d\mapsto\mathbb{R}^d}$ are Lipschitz maps. Assume that the Markov chain has a unique stationary measure ??. Under appropriate assumptions on ${\psi_{\theta_n}}$ , we will show that the measure ?? has a heavy tail with the exponent ???>?0 i.e. ${\nu(\{x\in\mathbb{R}^d: |x| > t\})\asymp t^{-\alpha}}$ . Using this result we show that properly normalized Birkhoff sums ${S_n^x=\sum_{k=1}^n X_k^x}$ , converge in law to an ??-stable law for ${\alpha\in(0, 2]}$ .  相似文献

Let ${{\mathbb H}_n, n \geq 1}$ , be the near 2n-gon defined on the 1-factors of the complete graph on 2n?+?2 vertices, and let e denote the absolutely universal embedding of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ into PG(W), where W is a ${\frac{1}{n+2} \left(\begin{array}{c}2n+2 \\ n+1\end{array}\right)}$ -dimensional vector space over the field ${{\mathbb F}_2}$ with two elements. For every point z of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ and every ${i \in {\mathbb N}}$ , let Δ i (z) denote the set of points of ${{\mathbb H}_n}$ at distance i from z. We show that for every pair {x, y} of mutually opposite points of ${{\mathbb H}_n, W}$ can be written as a direct sum ${W_0 \oplus W_1 \oplus \cdots \oplus W_n}$ such that the following four properties hold for every ${i \in \{0,\ldots,n \}}$ : (1) ${\langle e(\Delta_i(x) \cap \Delta_{n-i}(y)) \rangle = {\rm PG}(W_i)}$ ; (2) ${\left\langle e \left( \bigcup_{j \leq i} \Delta_j(x) \right) \right\rangle = {\rm PG}(W_0 \oplus W_1 \oplus \cdots \oplus W_i)}$ ; (3) ${\left\langle e \left( \bigcup_{j \leq i} \Delta_j(y) \right) \right\rangle = {\rm PG}(W_{n-i}\oplus W_{n-i+1} \oplus \cdots \oplus W_n)}$ ; (4) ${\dim(W_i) = |\Delta_i(x) \cap \Delta_{n-i}(y)| = \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i\end{array}\right)^2 - \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i-1\end{array}\right) \cdot \left(\begin{array}{c}n \\ i+1\end{array}\right)}$ .  相似文献

Let E be a real reflexive strictly convex Banach space which has uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm. Let ${\mathcal{S} = \{T(s): 0 \leq s < \infty\}}$ be a nonexpansive semigroup on E such that ${Fix(\mathcal{S}) := \cap_{t\geq 0}Fix( T(t) ) \not= \emptyset}$ , and f is a contraction on E with coefficient 0 <  α <  1. Let F be δ-strongly accretive and λ-strictly pseudo-contractive with δ + λ >  1 and ${0 < \gamma < \min\left\{\frac{\delta}{\alpha}, \frac{1-\sqrt{ \frac{1-\delta}{\lambda} }}{\alpha} \right\} }$ . When the sequences of real numbers {α n } and {t n } satisfy some appropriate conditions, the three iterative processes given as follows : $${\left.\begin{array}{ll}{x_{n+1} = \alpha_n \gamma f(x_n) + (I - \alpha_n F)T(t_n)x_n,\quad n\geq 0,}\\ {y_{n+1} = \alpha_n \gamma f(T(t_n)y_n) + (I - \alpha_n F)T(t_n)y_n,\quad n\geq 0,}\end{array}\right.}$$ and $$ z_{n+1} = T(t_n)( \alpha_n \gamma f(z_n) + (I - \alpha_n F)z_n),\quad n\geq 0 $$ converge strongly to ${\tilde{x}}$ , where ${\tilde{x}}$ is the unique solution in ${Fix(\mathcal{S})}$ of the variational inequality $${ \langle (F - \gamma f)\tilde {x}, j(x - \tilde{x}) \rangle \geq 0,\quad x\in Fix(\mathcal{S}).}$$ Our results extend and improve corresponding ones of Li et al. We consider the following system of integral equations $${u_{i}(t)=\int\nolimits_{I} g_{i}(t, s)f(s, u_{1}(s), u_{2}(s), \cdots, u_{n}(s))ds, \quad t \in I, \ 1 \leq i\leq n}$$ where I is an interval of $\mathbb{R}$ . Our aim is to establish criteria such that the above system has a constant-sign periodic and almost periodic solution (u 1, u 2,…,u n ) when I is an infinite interval of $\mathbb{R}$ , and a constant-sign periodic solution when I is a finite interval of $\mathbb{R}$ . The above problem is also extended to that on $\mathbb{R}$ $$u_{i} {\left( t \right)} = {\int_\mathbb{R} {g_{i} {\left( {t,s} \right)}f_{i} {\left( {s,u_{1} {\left( s \right)},u_{2} {\left( s \right)}, \cdots ,u_{n} {\left( s \right)}} \right)}ds\quad t \in \mathbb{R},\quad 1 \leqslant i \leqslant n.} }$$   相似文献

Let S 0 = 0, {S n n ≥ 1} be a random walk generated by a sequence of i.i.d. random variables X 1, X 2, . . . and let $\tau ^{-}={\rm min} \{ n \geq 1:S_{n}\leq 0 \}$ and $\tau ^{+}={\rm min}\{n\geq1:S_{n} > 0\} $ . Assuming that the distribution of X 1 belongs to the domain of attraction of an α-stable law we study the asymptotic behavior, as ${n\rightarrow \infty }$ , of the local probabilities ${\bf P}{(\tau ^{\pm }=n)}$ and prove the Gnedenko and Stone type conditional local limit theorems for the probabilities ${\bf P}{(S_{n} \in [x,x+\Delta )|\tau^{-} > n)}$ with fixed Δ and ${x=x(n)\in (0,\infty )}$ .  相似文献

Let ${N \geq 3}$ and u be the solution of u t = Δ log u in ${\mathbb{R}^N \times (0, T)}$ with initial value u 0 satisfying ${B_{k_1}(x, 0) \leq u_{0} \leq B_{k_2}(x, 0)}$ for some constants k 1k 2 > 0 where ${B_k(x, t) = 2(N - 2)(T - t)_{+}^{N/(N - 2)}/(k + (T - t)_{+}^{2/(N - 2)}|x|^{2})}$ is the Barenblatt solution for the equation and ${u_0 - B_{k_0} \in L^{1}(\mathbb{R}^{N})}$ for some constant k 0 > 0 if ${N \geq 4}$ . We give a new different proof on the uniform convergence and ${L^1(\mathbb{R}^N)}$ convergence of the rescaled function ${\tilde{u}(x, s) = (T - t)^{-N/(N - 2)}u(x/(T - t)^{-1/(N - 2)}, t), s = -{\rm log}(T - t)}$ , on ${\mathbb{R}^N}$ to the rescaled Barenblatt solution ${\tilde{B}_{k_0}(x) = 2(N - 2)/(k_0 + |x|^{2})}$ for some k 0 > 0 as ${s \rightarrow \infty}$ . When ${N \geq 4, 0 \leq u_0(x) \leq B_{k_0}(x, 0)}$ in ${\mathbb{R}^N}$ , and ${|u_0(x) - B_{k_0}(x, 0)| \leq f \in L^{1}(\mathbb{R}^{N})}$ for some constant k 0 > 0 and some radially symmetric function f, we also prove uniform convergence and convergence in some weighted L 1 space in ${\mathbb{R}^N}$ of the rescaled solution ${\tilde{u}(x, s)}$ to ${\tilde{B}_{k_0}(x)}$ as ${s \rightarrow \infty}$ .  相似文献

Let and be polynomials orthogonal on the unit circle with respect to the measures dσ and dμ, respectively. In this paper we consider the question how the orthogonality measures dσ and dμ are related to each other if the orthogonal polynomials are connected by a relation of the form , for , where . It turns out that the two measures are related by if , where and are known trigonometric polynomials of fixed degree and where the 's are the zeros of on . If the 's and 's are uniformly bounded then (under some additional conditions) much more can be said. Indeed, in this case the measures dσ and dμ have to be of the form and , respectively, where are nonnegative trigonometric polynomials. Finally, the question is considered to which weight functions polynomials of the form where denotes the reciprocal polynomial of , can be orthogonal. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

We consider the following question: Given a connected open domain ${\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^n}$ , suppose ${u, v : \Omega \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^n}$ with det ${(\nabla u) > 0}$ , det ${(\nabla v) > 0}$ a.e. are such that ${\nabla u^T(x)\nabla u(x) = \nabla v(x)^T \nabla v(x)}$ a.e. , does this imply a global relation of the form ${\nabla v(x) = R\nabla u(x)}$ a.e. in Ω where ${R \in SO(n)}$ ? If u, v are C 1 it is an exercise to see this true, if ${u, v\in W^{1,1}}$ we show this is false. In Theorem 1 we prove this question has a positive answer if ${v \in W^{1,1}}$ and ${u \in W^{1,n}}$ is a mapping of L p integrable dilatation for p > n ? 1. These conditions are sharp in two dimensions and this result represents a generalization of the corollary to Liouville’s theorem that states that the differential inclusion ${\nabla u \in SO(n)}$ can only be satisfied by an affine mapping. Liouville’s corollary for rotations has been generalized by Reshetnyak who proved convergence of gradients to a fixed rotation for any weakly converging sequence ${v_k \in W^{1,1}}$ for which $$\int \limits_{\Omega} {\rm dist}(\nabla v_k, SO(n))dz \rightarrow 0 \, {\rm as} \, k \rightarrow \infty.$$ Let S(·) denote the (multiplicative) symmetric part of a matrix. In Theorem 3 we prove an analogous result to Theorem 1 for any pair of weakly converging sequences ${v_k \in W^{1,p}}$ and ${u_k \in W^{1,\frac{p(n-1)}{p-1}}}$ (where ${p \in [1, n]}$ and the sequence (u k ) has its dilatation pointwise bounded above by an L r integrable function, rn ? 1) that satisfy ${\int_{\Omega} |S(\nabla u_k) - S(\nabla v_k)|^p dz \rightarrow 0}$ as k → ∞ and for which the sign of the det ${(\nabla v_k)}$ tends to 1 in L 1. This result contains Reshetnyak’s theorem as the special case (u k ) ≡ Id, p = 1.  相似文献

Assume that 0≤l l ≤...≤l n r-1 and there is at least one point τ j of jump for each function σ j , and if τ j s forjs, thenl j l s . We also establish some other estimates for the consideredK-functional.  相似文献

Let ${\mathcal L(r) = \sum_{n=0}^\infty a_nr^{\lambda_n}}$ be a lacunary series converging for 0 <  r < 1, with coefficients in a quasinormed space. It is proved that $$\int_0^1 F(1-r,\|\mathcal L(r)\|)(1-r)^{-1}\,{\rm d}r < \infty $$ if and only if $$ \sum_{n=0}^\infty F(1/\lambda_n,\|a_n\|) < \infty, $$ where F is a “normal function” of two variables. In the case when p ≥ 1 and F(x, y) =  x y p , this reduces to a theorem of Gurariy and Matsaev. As an application we prove that if ${f(r\zeta) = \sum_{n=0}^\infty r^{\lambda_n}f_{\lambda_n}(\zeta)}$ is a function harmonic in the unit ball of ${\mathbb R^N,}$ then $$\int_0^1M_p^q(r,f)(1-r)^{q\alpha-1} \,{\rm d}r <\infty\quad (p,\,q,\,\alpha >0 ) $$ if and only if $$\sum_{n=0}^\infty \|f_{\lambda_n} \|^q_{L^p(\partial B_N)}(1/\lambda_n)^{q\alpha} <\infty. $$   相似文献

Let f??L 2?? be a real-valued even function with its Fourier series $\frac {a_{0}}{2}+\sum\limits_{n=1}^{\infty}{a_{n}}\cos nx$ , and let S n (f,x) be the nth partial sum of the Fourier series, n?R1. The classical result says that if the nonnegative sequence {a n } is decreasing and $\lim\limits_{n\to\infty} a_{n} =0$ , then $\lim\limits_{n\to\infty} \|{f-S_{n}(f)}\|_{L}=0$ if and only if $\lim\limits_{n\to\infty} a_{n}\log n=0$ . Later, the monotonicity condition set on {a n } is essentially generalized to MVBV (Mean Value Bounded Variation) condition. Very recently, Kórus further generalized the condition in the classical result to the so-called GM7 condition in real space. In this paper, we give a complete generalization to the complex space.  相似文献
