The category of bounded distributive lattices with order-preserving maps is shown to be dually equivalent to the category of Priestley spaces with Priestley multirelations. The Priestley dual space of the ideal lattice L of a bounded distributive lattice L is described in terms of the dual space of L. A variant of the Nachbin-Stone-ech compactification is developed for bitopological and ordered spaces. Let X be a poset and Y an ordered space; X Y denotes the poset of continuous order-preserving maps from Y to X with the discrete topology. The Priestley dual of L P is determined, where P is a poset and L a bounded distributive lattice.  相似文献

In this paper, (p,Y)-Bessel operator sequences, operator frames and (p,Y)-Riesz bases for a Banach space X are introduced and discussed as generalizations of the usual concepts for a Hilbert space and of the g-frames. It is proved that the set of all (p,Y)-Bessel operator sequences for a Banach space X is a Banach space and isometrically isomorphic to the operator space B(X,p(Y)). Some necessary and sufficient conditions for a sequence of operators to be a (p,Y)-Bessel operator sequence are given. Also, a characterization of an independent (p,Y)-operator frame for X is obtained. Lastly, it is shown that an independent (p,Y)-operator frame for X is just a (p,Y)-Riesz basis for X and has a unique dual (q,Y*)-operator frame for X*.  相似文献

LetX andY be arbitrary non-empty sets and letS a non-empty subset ofX ×Y. We give necessary and sufficient conditions onS which ensure that every real valued function onS is the sum of a function onX and a function onY.  相似文献

A bornological universe 〈X, τ, ℬ〉 is a topological space 〈X, τ〉 equipped with a bornology ℬ, that is, a cover of X that is hereditary and is closed under finite unions. In this paper, we give three different sets of necessary and sufficient conditions for the universe to be both topologically and bornologically embeddable in ℝ Y for some index set Y. When this is possible, Y can be chosen to be a family of continuous coercive functions on X. Dedicated to Arrigo Cellina.  相似文献

The object of this paper is to prove the following theorem: Let Y be a closed subspace of the Banach space X, (S,Σ,μ) a σ-finite measure space, L(S,Y) (respectively, L(S, X)) the space of all strongly measurable functions from S to Y (respectively, X), and p a positive number. Then L(S,Y) is pointwise proximinal in L(S,X) if and only if Lp(μ,Y) is proximinal in Lp(μ,X). As an application of the theorem stated above, we prove that if Y is a separable closed subspace of the Banach space X, p is a positive number, then Lp(μ,Y) is proximinal in Lp(μ,X) if and only if Y is proximinal in X. Finally, several other interesting results on pointwise best approximation are also obtained.  相似文献

In this article, we consider several definitions of a Lachlan semilattice; i.e., a semilattice isomorphic to a principal ideal of the semilattice of computably enumerable m-degrees. We also answer a series of questions on constructive posets and prove that each distributive semilattice with top and bottom is a Lachlan semilattice if it admits a Σ 3 0 -representation as an algebra but need not be a Lachlan semilattice if it admits a Σ 3 0 -representation as a poset. The examples are constructed of distributive lattices that are constructivizable as posets but not constructivizable as join (meet) semilattices. We also prove that every locally lattice poset (in particular, every lattice and every distributive semilattice) possessing a Δ 2 0 -representation is positive.  相似文献

The necessary and sufficient conditions for a matrix M to be a transform from the summability domain of generalized matrix method A into the summability domain of another generalized matrix method B are proved. The elements of Mare continuous linear operators from a Banach space X into another Banach space Y, and the elements of A and B are continuous linear operators from X into X and from Y into Y, respectively. As a special case there are considered the case when A is the generalized Riesz method.  相似文献

Isometries and almost isometries between spaces of continuous functions   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
We characterize the isometries fromC(X) intoC(Y) whereX andY are compact metric spaces. We give necessary and sufficient conditions on an isometry from a subset ofC(X) intoC(Y) to have an extension to the whole space. It is also shown that an almost isometry from the unit ball ofC(X) into the unit ball ofC(Y) is near to an isometry.  相似文献

Let X and Y be locally convex spaces with K a closed convex cone in X Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the image AK to be closed in Ywhen A:X→Y is a continuous linear map. This result is used to generalize a theorem of Abrams to infinite dimensional spaces and also to give sufficient conditions for the Hurwicz version of the Farkas lemma for locally convex spaces to hold.  相似文献

It is well known that any distributive poset (short for partially ordered set) has an isomorphic representation as a poset (Q, ⊆) such that the supremum and the infimum of any finite setF ofP correspond, respectively to the union and intersection of the images of the elements ofF. Here necessary and sufficient conditions are given for similar isomophic representation of a poset where however the supremum and infimum of also infinite subsetsI correspond to the union and intersection of images of elements ofI.  相似文献

Given Banach spaces X, Yand a compact Hausdorff space K, we use polymeasures to give necessary conditions for a multilinear operator from C(K, X) into Yto be completely continuous (resp. unconditionally converging). We deduce necessary and sufficient conditions for Xto have the Schur property (resp. to contain no copy of c 0), and for Kto be scattered. This extends results concerning linear operators.  相似文献

Let X be a topological space and let be the set of all compact subsets of X. The purpose of this note is to prove the following: if X is regular and q-space, then X is Lindelöf and ech-complete if and only if there exists a continuous map f from a Lindelöf and ech-complete space Y to the space endowed with the upper topology, such that f(Y) is cofinal in . This result extends the following result of Saint Raymond and Christensen: if X is separable metrizable, then X is a Polish space if and only if the space endowed with the Vietoris topology is the continuous image of a Polish space.  相似文献

It is well known [1] that any distributive poset (short for partially ordered set) has an isomorphic representation as a poset (Q, (–) such that the supremum and the infimum of any finite setF ofp correspond, respectively, to the union and intersection of the images of the elements ofF. Here necessary and sufficient conditions are given for similar isomorphic representation of a poset where however the supremum and infimum of also infinite subsetsI correspond to the union and intersection of images of elements ofI. Let X be a Banach space, S be a compact Hausdorff space and Y be a U-proximinal subspace of X. We prove that C(S,Y) is locally uniformly strongly proximinal in C(S,X) and the corresponding metric projection map is Hausdorff metric continuous.  相似文献

Let C(X,Y) be the set of all continuous functions from a topological space X into a topological space Y. We find conditions on X that make the Isbell and fine Isbell topologies on C(X,Y) equal for all Y. For zero-dimensional spaces X, we show there is a space Z such that the coincidence of the Isbell and fine Isbell topologies on C(X,Z) implies the coincidence on C(X,Y) for all Y. We then consider the question of when the Isbell and fine Isbell topologies coincide on the set of continuous real-valued functions. Our results are similar to results established for consonant spaces.  相似文献

The primary goal of the paper is to investigate the Baire property and weak α-favorability for the generalized compact-open topology τC on the space of continuous partial functions f :AY with a closed domain AX. Various sufficient and necessary conditions are given. It is shown, e.g., that is weakly α-favorable (and hence a Baire space), if X is a locally compact paracompact space and Y is a regular space having a completely metrizable dense subspace. As corollaries we get sufficient conditions for Baireness and weak α-favorability of the graph topology of Brandi and Ceppitelli introduced for applications in differential equations, as well as of the Fell hyperspace topology. The relationship between τC, the compact-open and Fell topologies, respectively is studied; moreover, a topological game is introduced and studied in order to facilitate the exposition of the above results.  相似文献

A set-valued mapping F from a topological space X to a topological space Y is called a cusco map if F is upper semicontinuous and F(x) is a nonempty, compact and connected subset of Y for each xX. We denote by L(X), the space of all subsets F of X × ℝ such that F is the graph of a cusco map from the space X to the real line ℝ. In this paper, we study topological properties of L(X) endowed with the Vietoris topology. First we prove that the approximative compactness of a nonempty set C in a normed linear space can be reformulated equivalently in another way.It is known that if C is a semi-Chebyshev closed and approximately compact set in a Banach space X,then the metric projectorπC from X onto C is continuous.Under the assumption that X is midpoint locally uniformly rotund,we prove that the approximative compactness of C is also necessary for the continuity of the projectorπC by the method of geometry of Banach spaces.Using this general result we find some necessary and sufficient conditions for T to have a continuous Moore-Penrose metric generalized inverse T~ ,where T is a bounded linear operator from an approximative compact and a rotund Banach space X into a midpoint locally uniformly rotund Banach space Y.  相似文献

It is known that the Banach completion Y = bX of a normed lattice X need not preserve the properties to be Dedekind complete or σ-Dedekind complete. In this paper it is proved that the countable interpolation property and the property to be sequentially order complete are preserved under the Banach completion. To prove this results we found some sufficient conditions (which are close to necessary ones) on X which secure for Y to have the countable interpolation property and (respectively) to be sequentially order complete. These conditions are obtained with the help of the newly developed techniques based on representations of normed lattices. It is well known that order continuity, and σ-order continuity of a norm are preserved under the Banach completion. Here necessary and sufficient conditions on X to secure these properties in Y are discussed. Mathematics Subject Classification 2000: 46B42, 46E15  相似文献

Given a monomial ideal I with minimal free resolution ? supported in characteristic p>0 on a CW-complex X with regular 2-skeleton, in general it is not the case that the face poset of X, P(X), also supports ? in the sense of Clark and Tchernev. We construct a (not necessarily regular) CW-complex Y that also supports ? and such that the face poset P(Y) also supports ?.  相似文献
