Consider the stationary Navier–Stokes equations in an exterior domain $\varOmega \subset \mathbb{R }^3 $ with smooth boundary. For every prescribed constant vector $u_{\infty } \ne 0$ and every external force $f \in \dot{H}_2^{-1} (\varOmega )$ , Leray (J. Math. Pures. Appl., 9:1–82, 1933) constructed a weak solution $u $ with $\nabla u \in L_2 (\varOmega )$ and $u - u_{\infty } \in L_6(\varOmega )$ . Here $\dot{H}^{-1}_2 (\varOmega )$ denotes the dual space of the homogeneous Sobolev space $\dot{H}^1_{2}(\varOmega ) $ . We prove that the weak solution $u$ fulfills the additional regularity property $u- u_{\infty } \in L_4(\varOmega )$ and $u_\infty \cdot \nabla u \in \dot{H}_2^{-1} (\varOmega )$ without any restriction on $f$ except for $f \in \dot{H}_2^{-1} (\varOmega )$ . As a consequence, it turns out that every weak solution necessarily satisfies the generalized energy equality. Moreover, we obtain a sharp a priori estimate and uniqueness result for weak solutions assuming only that $\Vert f\Vert _{\dot{H}^{-1}_2(\varOmega )}$ and $|u_{\infty }|$ are suitably small. Our results give final affirmative answers to open questions left by Leray (J. Math. Pures. Appl., 9:1–82, 1933) about energy equality and uniqueness of weak solutions. Finally we investigate the convergence of weak solutions as $u_{\infty } \rightarrow 0$ in the strong norm topology, while the limiting weak solution exhibits a completely different behavior from that in the case $u_{\infty } \ne 0$ .  相似文献

We study the extremal solution for the problem \((-\Delta )^s u=\lambda f(u)\) in \(\Omega \) , \(u\equiv 0\) in \(\mathbb R ^n\setminus \Omega \) , where \(\lambda >0\) is a parameter and \(s\in (0,1)\) . We extend some well known results for the extremal solution when the operator is the Laplacian to this nonlocal case. For general convex nonlinearities we prove that the extremal solution is bounded in dimensions \(n<4s\) . We also show that, for exponential and power-like nonlinearities, the extremal solution is bounded whenever \(n<10s\) . In the limit \(s\uparrow 1\) , \(n<10\) is optimal. In addition, we show that the extremal solution is \(H^s(\mathbb R ^n)\) in any dimension whenever the domain is convex. To obtain some of these results we need \(L^q\) estimates for solutions to the linear Dirichlet problem for the fractional Laplacian with \(L^p\) data. We prove optimal \(L^q\) and \(C^\beta \) estimates, depending on the value of \(p\) . These estimates follow from classical embedding results for the Riesz potential in \(\mathbb R ^n\) . Finally, to prove the \(H^s\) regularity of the extremal solution we need an \(L^\infty \) estimate near the boundary of convex domains, which we obtain via the moving planes method. For it, we use a maximum principle in small domains for integro-differential operators with decreasing kernels.  相似文献

In this paper we study, for given $p,~1<p<\infty $ , the boundary behaviour of non-negative $p$ -harmonic functions in the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H }^n$ , i.e., we consider weak solutions to the non-linear and potentially degenerate partial differential equation $$\begin{aligned} \sum _{i=1}^{2n}X_i(|Xu|^{p-2}\,X_i u)=0 \end{aligned}$$ where the vector fields $X_1,\ldots ,X_{2n}$ form a basis for the space of left-invariant vector fields on $\mathbb{H }^n$ . In particular, we introduce a set of domains $\Omega \subset \mathbb{H }^n$ which we refer to as domains well-approximated by non-characteristic hyperplanes and in $\Omega $ we prove, for $2\le p<\infty $ , the boundary Harnack inequality as well as the Hölder continuity for ratios of positive $p$ -harmonic functions vanishing on a portion of $\partial \Omega $ .  相似文献

Consider the instationary Boussinesq equations in a smooth bounded domain \(\Omega \subseteq \mathbb {R}^3\) with initial values \(u_0 \in L^2_{\sigma }(\Omega )\) , \( \theta _0 \in L^2(\Omega )\) and gravitational force \(g\) . We call \((u,\theta )\) strong solution if \((u,\theta )\) is a weak solution and additionally Serrin’s condition \(u \in L^s(0,T; L^q(\Omega ))\) holds where \( 1 satisfy \(\frac{2}{s} + \frac{3}{q} =1\) . In this paper we show that \(\int _0^{\infty } \Vert e^{-tA} u_0 \Vert _q^s \, dt < \infty \) is necessary and sufficient for the existence of such a strong solution \((u,\theta )\) in a sufficiently small interval \([0,T[\, , 0 < T\le \infty \) . Furthermore we show that strong solutions are uniquely determined and that they are smooth if the data are smooth. The crucial point is the fact that we have required no additional integrability condition for \(\theta \) in the definition of a strong solution \((u,\theta )\) .  相似文献

We present some multiplicity results concerning semilinear elliptic Dirichlet problems with jumping nonlinearities where the jumping condition involves a set of high eigenvalues not including the first one. Using a variational method we show that the number of solutions may be arbitrarily large provided the number of jumped eigenvalues is large enough. Indeed, we prove that for every positive integer $k$ there exists a positive integer $n(k)$ such that, if the number of jumped eigenvalues is greater than $n(k),$ then the problem has at least a solution which presents $k$ peaks. Moreover, we describe the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions as the number of jumped eigenvalues tends to infinity; in particular, we analyse some concentration phenomena of the peaks (near points or suitable manifolds), we describe the asymptotic profile of the rescaled peaks, etc $\ldots $   相似文献

In this paper we establish a multiplicity result concerning the existence of doubly periodic solutions in a $2\times 2$ nonlinear elliptic system arising in the study of self-dual non-Abelian Chern–Simons vortices. We show that the system admits at least two solutions when the Chern–Simons coupling parameter $\kappa >0$ is sufficiently small; while no solution exists for $\kappa >0$ sufficiently large. As in Nolasco and Tarantello (Commun Math Phys 213:599–639, 2000), we use a variational formulation of the problem. Thus, we obtain a first solution via a constrained minimization method and show that it is asymptotically gauge-equivalent to the (broken) principal embedding vacuum of the system, as $\kappa \rightarrow 0$ . Then we obtain a second solution by a min-max procedure of “mountain pass” type.  相似文献

In this paper we study existence of solutions for the Cauchy problem of the Debye-Hückel system with low regularity initial data. By using the Chemin-Lerner time-space estimate for the heat equation, we prove that there exists a unique local solution if the initial data belongs to the Besov space $\dot{B}^{s}_{p,q}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$ for $-\frac{3}{2}<s\leq-2+\frac{n}{2}$ , $p=\frac{n}{s+2}$ and 1≤q≤∞, and furthermore, if the initial data is sufficiently small then the solution is global. This result improves the regularity index of the initial data space in previous results on this system. The blow-up criterion of solutions is also established.  相似文献

We consider singular solutions of the functional equation ${f(xf(x)) = \varphi (f(x))}$ where ${\varphi}$ is a given and f an unknown continuous map ${\mathbb R_{+} \rightarrow \mathbb R_{+}}$ . A solution f is regular if the sets ${R_f \cap (0, 1]}$ and ${R_f \cap [1, \infty)}$ , where R f is the range of f, are ${\varphi}$ -invariant; otherwise f is singular. We show that for singular solutions the associated dynamical system ${({R_f}, \varphi|_{R_f})}$ can have strange properties unknown for the regular solutions. In particular, we show that ${\varphi |_{R_f}}$ can have a periodic point of period 3 and hence can be chaotic in a strong sense. We also provide an effective method of construction of singular solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and study a new model, which is called the Lagrangian-averaged Oldroyd- $\alpha $ (LAO- $\alpha $ ) model in two space dimensions. Such a model is inspired by the Lagrangian-averaged Navier–Stokes- $\alpha $ model (also known as the viscous Camassa–Holm equations). We obtain global existence result for the Cauchy problem of the LAO- $\alpha $ model. And we prove that a subsequence of solutions of the LAO- $\alpha $ equations converges to certain solution of the two-dimensional Oldroyd model as $\alpha $ converges to zero.  相似文献

In the framework of toroidal Pseudodifferential operators on the flat torus \({\mathbb {T}}^n := ({\mathbb {R}} / 2\pi {\mathbb {Z}})^n\) we begin by proving the closure under composition for the class of Weyl operators \(\mathrm {Op}^w_\hbar (b)\) with symbols \(b \in S^m (\mathbb {T}^n \times \mathbb {R}^n)\) . Subsequently, we consider \(\mathrm {Op}^w_\hbar (H)\) when \(H=\frac{1}{2} |\eta |^2 + V(x)\) where \(V \in C^\infty ({\mathbb {T}}^n)\) and we exhibit the toroidal version of the equation for the Wigner transform of the solution of the Schrödinger equation. Moreover, we prove the convergence (in a weak sense) of the Wigner transform of the solution of the Schrödinger equation to the solution of the Liouville equation on \(\mathbb {T}^n \times {\mathbb {R}}^n\) written in the measure sense. These results are applied to the study of some WKB type wave functions in the Sobolev space \(H^{1} (\mathbb {T}^n; {\mathbb {C}})\) with phase functions in the class of Lipschitz continuous weak KAM solutions (positive and negative type) of the Hamilton–Jacobi equation \(\frac{1}{2} |P+ \nabla _x v (P,x)|^2 + V(x) = \bar{H}(P)\) for \(P \in \ell {\mathbb {Z}}^n\) with \(\ell >0\) , and to the study of the backward and forward time propagation of the related Wigner measures supported on the graph of \(P+ \nabla _x v\) .  相似文献
