Let X be a real reflexive Banach space with dual X. Let L:XD(L)→X be densely defined, linear and maximal monotone. Let T:XD(T)→X2, with 0∈D(T) and 0∈T(0), be strongly quasibounded and maximal monotone, and C:XD(C)→X bounded, demicontinuous and of type (S+) w.r.t. D(L). A new topological degree theory has been developed for the sum L+T+C. This degree theory is an extension of the Berkovits-Mustonen theory (for T=0) and an improvement of the work of Addou and Mermri (for T:XX2 bounded). Unbounded maximal monotone operators with are strongly quasibounded and may be used with the new degree theory.  相似文献

Let X be a real reflexive Banach space and be maximal monotone. Let be quasibounded, finitely continuous and generalized pseudomonotone with X′⊂D(B), where X′ is a dense subspace of X such that X′∩D(A)≠∅. Let S⊂X∗. Conditions are given under which and intS⊂intR(A+B). Results of Browder concerning everywhere defined continuous and bounded operators B are improved. Extensions of this theory are also given using the degree theory of the last two authors concerning densely defined perturbations of nonlinear maximal monotone operators which satisfy a generalized (S+)-condition. Applications of this extended theory are given involving nonlinear parabolic problems on cylindrical domains.  相似文献

Let Γ denote a distance-regular graph with diameter D?3. Assume Γ has classical parameters (D,b,α,β) with b<-1. Let X denote the vertex set of Γ and let A∈MatX(C) denote the adjacency matrix of Γ. Fix xX and let A∈MatX(C) denote the corresponding dual adjacency matrix. Let T denote the subalgebra of MatX(C) generated by A,A. We call T the Terwilliger algebra of Γ with respect to x. We show that up to isomorphism there exist exactly two irreducible T-modules with endpoint 1; their dimensions are D and 2D-2. For these T-modules we display a basis consisting of eigenvectors for A, and for each basis we give the action of A.  相似文献

Degree theory has been developed as a tool for checking the solution existence of nonlinear equations. In his classic paper published in 1983, Browder developed a degree theory for mappings of monotone type f+T, where f is a mapping of class +(S) from a bounded open set Ω in a reflexive Banach space X into its dual X, and T is a maximal monotone mapping from X into X. This breakthrough paved the way for many applications of degree theoretic techniques to several large classes of nonlinear partial differential equations. In this paper we continue to develop the results of Browder on the degree theory for mappings of monotone type f+T. By enlarging the class of maximal monotone mappings and pseudo-monotone homotopies we obtain some new results of the degree theory for such mappings.  相似文献

Let X be an infinite-dimensional real reflexive Banach space such that X and its dual X* are locally uniformly convex. Suppose that T: X?D(T) → 2 X * is a maximal monotone multi-valued operator and C: X?D(C) → X* is a generalized pseudomonotone quasibounded operator with L ? D(C), where L is a dense subspace of X. Applying a recent degree theory of Kartsatos and Skrypnik, we establish the existence of an eigensolution to the nonlinear inclusion 0 ∈ T x + λ C x , with a regularization method by means of the duality operator. Moreover, possible branches of eigensolutions to the above inclusion are discussed. Furthermore, we give a surjectivity result about the operator λT + C when λ is not an eigenvalue for the pair (T, C), T being single-valued and densely defined.  相似文献

Let X be a nonempty, convex and compact subset of normed linear space E (respectively, let X be a nonempty, bounded, closed and convex subset of Banach space E and A be a nonempty, convex and compact subset of X) and f:X×XR be a given function, the uniqueness of equilibrium point for equilibrium problem which is to find xX (respectively, xA) such that f(x,y)≥0 for all yX (respectively, f(x,y)≥0 for all yA) is studied with varying f (respectively, with both varying f and varying A). Let G be an amenable group, let X be a Banach space and let π:GB(X) be a bounded representation. We show that if the set is γ-bounded then π extends to a bounded homomorphism w:C(G)→B(X) on the group C-algebra of G. Moreover w is necessarily γ-bounded. This extends to the Banach space setting a theorem of Day and Dixmier saying that any bounded representation of an amenable group on Hilbert space is unitarizable. We obtain additional results and complements when G=Z, R or T, and/or when X has property (α).  相似文献

Let A and B be (not necessarily unital or closed) standard operator algebras on complex Banach spaces X and Y, respectively. For a bounded linear operator A on X, the peripheral spectrum σπ(A) of A is the set σπ(A)={zσ(A):|z|=maxωσ(A)|ω|}, where σ(A) denotes the spectrum of A. Assume that Φ:AB is a map the range of which contains all operators of rank at most two. It is shown that the map Φ satisfies the condition that σπ(BAB)=σπ(Φ(B)Φ(A)Φ(B)) for all A,BA if and only if there exists a scalar λC with λ3=1 and either there exists an invertible operator TB(X,Y) such that Φ(A)=λTAT-1 for every AA; or there exists an invertible operator TB(X,Y) such that Φ(A)=λTAT-1 for every AA. If X=H and Y=K are complex Hilbert spaces, the maps preserving the peripheral spectrum of the Jordan skew semi-triple product BAB are also characterized. Let H be a real Hilbert space. We propose a modification for averaged mappings to approximate the unique fixed point of a mapping T:HH such that T is boundedly Lipschitzian and −T is monotone. We not only prove strong convergence theorems, but also determine the degree of convergence. Using this result, an iteration process is given for finding the unique solution of the equation Ax=f, where A:HH is strongly monotone and boundedly Lipschitzian.  相似文献

In this paper we give a weaker sufficient condition for the maximal monotonicity of the operator S+ATAS+ATA, where S:X?XS:X?X, T:Y?YT:Y?Y are two maximal monotone operators, A:X→YA:XY is a linear continuous mapping and X,YX,Y are reflexive Banach spaces. We prove that our condition is weaker than the generalized interior-point conditions given so far in the literature. This condition is formulated using the representative functions of the operators involved. In particular, we rediscover some sufficient conditions given in the past using the so-called Fitzpatrick function for the maximal monotonicity of the sum of two maximal monotone operators and for the precomposition of a maximal monotone operator with a linear operator, respectively.  相似文献

It is proved that the operator Lie algebra ε(T,T) generated by a bounded linear operator T on Hilbert space H is finite-dimensional if and only if T=N+Q, N is a normal operator, [N,Q]=0, and dimA(Q,Q)<+∞, where ε(T,T) denotes the smallest Lie algebra containing T,T, and A(Q,Q) denotes the associative subalgebra of B(H) generated by Q,Q. Moreover, we also give a sufficient and necessary condition for operators to generate finite-dimensional semi-simple Lie algebras. No invertibility assumption is imposed on KK and the operators KK and FF need not be defined on compact subsets of XX. Furthermore, our new technique of proof is of independent interest.
