Let (X,L) be a polarized manifold of dimension n. In this paper, for any integer i with 0≤in we introduce the notion of the ith sectional invariant of (X,L). We define the ith sectional Euler number ei(X,L), the ith sectional Betti number bi(X,L), and the ith sectional Hodge number of type (j,ij) of (X,L) and we will study some properties of these.  相似文献

Let X be a smooth complex projective variety of dimension 3 and let L be an ample line bundle on X. In this paper, we provide a lower bound for h0(m(KX+L)) under the assumption that κ(KX+L)≥0. In particular, we get the following: (1) if 0≤κ(KX+L)≤2, then h0(KX+L)>0 holds. (2) If κ(KX+L)=3, then h0(2(KX+L))≥3 holds. Moreover we get a classification of (X,L) with κ(KX+L)=3 and h0(2(KX+L))=3 or 4.  相似文献

Let (X,L) be a polarized manifold of dimension n defined over the field of complex numbers. In this paper, we treat the case where n=3 and 4. First we study the case of n=3 and we give an explicit lower bound for h0(KX+L) if κ(X)≥0. Moreover, we show the following: if κ(KX+L)≥0, then h0(KX+L)>0 unless κ(X)=− and h1(OX)=0. This gives us a partial answer of Effective Non-vanishing Conjecture for polarized 3-folds. Next for n=4 we investigate the dimension of H0(KX+mL) for m≥2. If n=4 and κ(X)≥0, then a lower bound for h0(KX+mL) is obtained. We also consider a conjecture of Beltrametti-Sommese for 4-folds and we can prove that this conjecture is true unless κ(X)=− and h1(OX)=0. Furthermore we prove the following: if (X,L) is a polarized 4-fold with κ(X)≥0 and h1(OX)>0, then h0(KX+L)>0.  相似文献

Let X be a nonsingular algebraic curve of genus g?3, and let Mξ denote the moduli space of stable vector bundles of rank n?2 and degree d with fixed determinant ξ over X such that n and d are coprime. We assume that if g=3 then n?4 and if g=4 then n?3, and suppose further that n0, d0 are integers such that n0?1 and nd0+n0d>nn0(2g-2). Let E be a semistable vector bundle over X of rank n0 and degree d0. The generalised Picard bundle Wξ(E) is by definition the vector bundle over Mξ defined by the direct image where Uξ is a universal vector bundle over X×Mξ. We obtain an inversion formula allowing us to recover E from Wξ(E) and show that the space of infinitesimal deformations of Wξ(E) is isomorphic to H1(X,End(E)). This construction gives a locally complete family of vector bundles over Mξ parametrised by the moduli space M(n0,d0) of stable bundles of rank n0 and degree d0 over X. If (n0,d0)=1 and Wξ(E) is stable for all EM(n0,d0), the construction determines an isomorphism from M(n0,d0) to a connected component M0 of a moduli space of stable sheaves over Mξ. This applies in particular when n0=1, in which case M0 is isomorphic to the Jacobian J of X as a polarised variety. The paper as a whole is a generalisation of results of Kempf and Mukai on Picard bundles over J, and is also related to a paper of Tyurin on the geometry of moduli of vector bundles.  相似文献

The Picard scheme of a smooth curve and a smooth complex variety is reduced. In this note we discuss which classes of surfaces in terms of the Enriques-Kodaira classification can have non-reduced Picard schemes and whether there are restrictions on the characteristic of the ground field. It turns out that non-reduced Picard schemes are uncommon in Kodaira dimension κ≤0, that this phenomenon can be bounded for κ=2 (general type) and that it is as bad as can be for κ=1.  相似文献

A group G is knot-like if it is finitely presented of deficiency 1 and has abelianization G/G?Z. We prove the conjecture of E. Rapaport Strasser that if a knot-like group G has a finitely generated commutator subgroup G then G should be free in the special case when the commutator G is residually finite. It is a corollary of a much more general result : if G is a discrete group of geometric dimension n with a finite K(G,1)-complex Y of dimension n, Y has Euler characteristics 0, N is a normal residually finite subgroup of G, N is of homological type FPn-1 and G/N?Z then N is of homological type FPn and hence G/N has finite virtual cohomological dimension vcd(G/N)=cd(G)-cd(N). In particular either N has finite index in G or cd(N)?cd(G)-1.Furthermore we show a pro-p version of the above result with the weaker assumption that G/N is a pro-p group of finite rank. Consequently a pro-p version of Rapaport's conjecture holds.  相似文献

We define, in a purely algebraic way, 1-motives Alb+(X), Alb(X), Pic+(X), and Pic(X) associated with any algebraic scheme X over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. For X over C of dimension n, the Hodge realizations are, respectively, H2n − 1 (X, Z(n))/(torsion), H1 (X, Z)/(torsion), H1 (X, Z(1)), and H2n − 1 (X, Z(1 n))/(torsion).  相似文献

We give restrictions on the existence of families of curves on smooth projective surfaces S of nonnegative Kodaira dimension all having constant geometric genus pg ? 2 and hyperelliptic normalizations. In particular, we prove a Reider-like result that relies on deformation theory and bending-and-breaking of rational curves in Sym2(S). We also give examples of families of such curves.  相似文献

Stable surfaces and their log analogues are the type of varieties naturally occurring as boundary points in moduli spaces. We extend classical results of Kodaira and Bombieri to this more general setting: if (X,Δ)(X,Δ) is a stable log surface with reduced boundary (possibly empty) and I   is its global index, then 4I(KX+Δ)4I(KX+Δ) is base-point-free and 8I(KX+Δ)8I(KX+Δ) is very ample.  相似文献

Let (X,L,V) be a triplet where X is an irreducible smooth complex projective variety, L is an ample and spanned line bundle on X and VH0(X,L) spans L. The discriminant locus D(X,V)⊂|V| is the algebraic subset of singular elements of |V|. We study the components of D(X,V) in connection with the jumping sets of (X,V), generalizing the classical biduality theorem. We also deal with the degree of the discriminant (codegree of (X,L,V)) giving some bounds on it and classifying curves and surfaces of codegree 2 and 3. We exclude the possibility for the codegree to be 1. Significant examples are provided.  相似文献

The ideal of a Segre variety Pn1×?×Pnt?P(n1+1)?(nt+1)−1 is generated by the 2-minors of a generic hypermatrix of indeterminates (see [H.T. Hà, Box-shaped matrices and the defining ideal of certain blowup surface, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 167 (2-3) (2002) 203-224. MR1874542 (2002h:13020)] and [R. Grone, Decomposable tensors as a quadratic variety, Proc. Amer. Math. 43 (2) (1977) 227-230. MR0472853 (57 #12542)]). We extend this result to the case of Segre-Veronese varieties. The main tool is the concept of “weak generic hypermatrix” which allows us to treat also the case of projection of Veronese surfaces from a set of general points and of Veronese varieties from a Cohen-Macaulay subvariety of codimension 2.  相似文献

In this note, we show that, if the Druzkowski mappings F(X)=X+(AX)∗3, i.e. F(X)=(x1+(a11x1+?+a1nxn)3,…,xn+(an1x1+?+annxn)3), satisfies TrJ((AX)∗3)=0, then where δ is the number of diagonal elements of A which are equal to zero. Furthermore, we show the Jacobian Conjecture is true for the Druzkowski mappings in dimension ?9 in the case .  相似文献

A scheme XPn of codimension c is called standard determinantal if its homogeneous saturated ideal can be generated by the t×t minors of a homogeneous t×(t+c−1) matrix (fij). Given integers a0a1≤?≤at+c−2 and b1≤?≤bt, we denote by the stratum of standard determinantal schemes where fij are homogeneous polynomials of degrees ajbi and is the Hilbert scheme (if nc>0, resp. the postulation Hilbert scheme if nc=0).Focusing mainly on zero and one dimensional determinantal schemes we determine the codimension of in and we show that is generically smooth along under certain conditions. For zero dimensional schemes (only) we find a counterexample to the conjectured value of appearing in Kleppe and Miró-Roig (2005) [25].  相似文献

We define the notion of a hypercube structure on a functor between two commutative Picard categories which generalizes the notion of a cube structure on a Gm-torsor over an abelian scheme. We prove that the determinant functor of a relative scheme X/S of relative dimension n is canonically endowed with a (n+2)-cube structure. We use this result to define the intersection bundle IX/S(L1,…,Ln+1) of n+1 line bundles on X/S and to construct an additive structure on the functor IX/S:PIC(X/S)n+1PIC(S). Then, we construct the resultant of n+1 sections of n+1 line bundles on X, and the discriminant of a section of a line bundle on X. Finally we study the relationship between the cube structures on the determinant functor and on the discriminant functor, and we use it to prove a polarization formula for the discriminant functor.  相似文献

Let X⊂ℙ N be either a threefold of Calabi–Yau or of general type (embedded with r K X ). In this article we give lower and upper bounds, linear on the degree of X and N, for the Euler number of X. As a corollary we obtain the boundedness of the region described by the Chern ratios of threefolds with ample canonical bundle and a new upper bound for the number of nodes of a complete intersection threefold. Let ƒ:MDC n be a holomorphic family of compact, complex surfaces, which is locally trivial onD∖Z, for an analytic subsetZ. Conditions are found under which ƒ extends trivially toD, if the fibers of ƒ|D∖Z are either Hirzebruch surfaces (projective bundles overP 1), Hopf surfaces (elliptic bundles overP 1), hyperelliptic bundles, or any compact complex surface having one of these as minimal model under blowing-down. The results of this paper are motivated by the existence of non-Hausdorff moduli spaces in the deformation of complex structure for certain complex manifolds.  相似文献

For any positive integers m and n, let X1,X2,…,Xmn be independent random variables with possibly nonidentical distributions. Let X1:nX2:n≤?≤Xn:n be order statistics of random variables X1,X2,…,Xn, and let X1:mX2:m≤?≤Xm:m be order statistics of random variables X1,X2,…,Xm. It is shown that (Xj:n,Xj+1:n,…,Xn:n) given Xi:m>y for ji≥max{nm,0}, and (X1:n,X2:n,…,Xj:n) given Xi:my for ji≤min{nm,0} are all increasing in y with respect to the usual multivariate stochastic order. We thus extend the main results in Dubhashi and Häggström (2008) [1] and Hu and Chen (2008) [2].  相似文献

Let X be a hyperelliptic curve of arithmetic genus g and let f:XP1 be the hyperelliptic involution map of X. In this paper we study higher syzygies of linearly normal embeddings of X of degree d≤2g. Note that the minimal free resolution of X of degree ≥2g+1 is already completely known. Let A=fOP1(1), and let L be a very ample line bundle on X of degree d≤2g. For , we call the pair (m,d−2m)the factorization type ofL. Our main result is that the Hartshorne-Rao module and the graded Betti numbers of the linearly normal curve embedded by |L| are precisely determined by the factorization type of L.  相似文献

Let X be a topological space and let F be a filter on N, recall that a sequence (xn)nN in X is said to be F-convergent to the point xX, if for each neighborhood U of x, {nN:xnU}∈F. By using F-convergence in ?1 and in Banach spaces, we characterize the P-filters, the P-filters+, the weak P-filters, the Q-filters, the Q-filters+, the weak Q-filters, the selective filters and the selective+ filters.  相似文献
