Let R(x)=g(x)/h(x) be a rational expression of degree three over the finite field Fq. We count the irreducible polynomials in Fq[x], of a given degree, that have the form h(x)degff(R(x)) for some f(x)Fq[x]. As an example of application of our results, we recover the number of irreducible transformation shift registers of order three, which were computed by Jiang and Yang in 2017.  相似文献

We establish that solutions to the Cauchy–Dirichlet problem

Let p be an odd prime number. We describe the Whitehead group of all extra-special and almost extra-special p-groups. For this we compute, for any finite p-group P, the subgroup Cl1(ZP) of SK1(ZP), in terms of a genetic basis of P. We also introduce a deflation map Cl1(ZP)Cl1(Z(P/N)), for a normal subgroup N of P, and show that it is always surjective. Along the way, we give a new proof of the result describing the structure of SK1(ZP), when P is an elementary abelian p-group.  相似文献

Let C be a chain complex of finitely generated free modules over a commutative Laurent polynomial ring Ls in s indeterminates. Given a group homomorphism p:Zs?Zt we let p!(C)=C?LsLt denote the resulting induced complex over the Laurent polynomial ring Lt in t indeterminates. We prove that the Betti number jump loci, that is, the sets of those homomorphisms p such that bk(p!(C))>bk(C), have a surprisingly simple structure. We allow non-unital commutative rings of coefficients, and work with a notion of Betti numbers that generalises both the usual one for integral domains, and the analogous concept involving McCoy ranks in case of unital commutative rings.  相似文献

We show that the lattice point enumerator Gn(?) satisfiesGn(tK+sL+(?1,?t+s?)n)1/ntGn(K)1/n+sGn(L)1/n for any K,L?Rn bounded sets with integer points and all t,s0.We also prove that a certain family of compact sets, extending that of cubes [?m,m]n, with mN, minimizes the functional Gn(K+t[?1,1]n), for any t0, among those bounded sets K?Rn with given positive lattice point enumerator.Finally, we show that these new discrete inequalities imply the corresponding classical Brunn-Minkowski and isoperimetric inequalities for non-empty compact sets.  相似文献

A transversal set of a graph G is a set of vertices incident to all edges of G. The transversal number of G, denoted by τ(G), is the minimum cardinality of a transversal set of G. A simple graph G with no isolated vertex is called τ-critical if τ(G?e)<τ(G) for every edge eE(G). For any τ-critical graph G with τ(G)=t, it has been shown that |V(G)|2t by Erd?s and Gallai and that |E(G)|(t+12) by Erd?s, Hajnal and Moon. Most recently, it was extended by Gyárfás and Lehel to |V(G)|+|E(G)|(t+22). In this paper, we prove stronger results via spectrum. Let G be a τ-critical graph with τ(G)=t and |V(G)|=n, and let λ1 denote the largest eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix of G. We show that n+λ12t+1 with equality if and only if G is tK2, Ks+1(t?s)K2, or C2s?1(t?s)K2, where 2st; and in particular, λ1(G)t with equality if and only if G is Kt+1. We then apply it to show that for any nonnegative integer r, we have n(r+λ12)(t+r+12) and characterize all extremal graphs. This implies a pure combinatorial result that r|V(G)|+|E(G)|(t+r+12), which is stronger than Erd?s-Hajnal-Moon Theorem and Gyárfás-Lehel Theorem. We also have some other generalizations.  相似文献

This paper concerns with the problem of how to running an insurance company to maximize his total discounted expected dividends. In our model, the dividend rate is limited in [0,M] and the company is allowed to transfer any proportion of risk by reinsuring. So there are two strategies which we call dividend strategy and reinsurance strategy. The objective function and the corresponding optimal two strategies are the solution and the two free boundaries of the following Barenblatt parabolic equation

In this paper we consider minimizers of the functionalmin{λ1(Ω)++λk(Ω)+Λ|Ω|,:ΩD open} where DRd is a bounded open set and where 0<λ1(Ω)λk(Ω) are the first k eigenvalues on Ω of an operator in divergence form with Dirichlet boundary condition and with Hölder continuous coefficients. We prove that the optimal sets Ω have finite perimeter and that their free boundary ΩD is composed of a regular part, which is locally the graph of a C1,α-regular function, and a singular part, which is empty if d<d, discrete if d=d and of Hausdorff dimension at most dd if d>d, for some d{5,6,7}.  相似文献
