The paper deals with random vectors in , possessing the stochastic representation , where R is a positive random radius independent of the random vector and is a non-singular matrix. If is uniformly distributed on the unit sphere of , then for any integer m<d we have the stochastic representations and , with W≥0, such that W2 is a beta distributed random variable with parameters m/2,(dm)/2 and (U1,…,Um),(Um+1,…,Ud) are independent uniformly distributed on the unit spheres of and , respectively. Assuming a more general stochastic representation for in this paper we introduce the class of beta-independent random vectors. For this new class we derive several conditional limiting results assuming that R has a distribution function in the max-domain of attraction of a univariate extreme value distribution function. We provide two applications concerning the Kotz approximation of the conditional distributions and the tail asymptotic behaviour of beta-independent bivariate random vectors.  相似文献

A series is called a pointwise universal trigonometric series if for any , there exists a strictly increasing sequence of positive integers such that converges to f(z) pointwise on . We find growth conditions on coefficients allowing and forbidding the existence of a pointwise universal trigonometric series. In this paper we present the necessary and sufficient conditions for linearizability of the planar time-reversible cubic complex system , . From these conditions, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the origin to be an isochronous center of the time-reversible cubic real system , can be obtained. We give conditions under which an n-star module extends to an n-star module, or an n-tilting module, over a ring extension R of A. In case that R is a split extension of A by Q, we obtain that is a 1-tilting module (respectively, a 1-star module) if and only if is a 1-tilting module (respectively, a 1-star module) and generates both and (respectively, generates ), where is an injective cogenerator in the category of all left A-modules. These extend results in [I. Assem, N. Marmaridis, Tilting modules over split-by-nilpotent extensions, Comm. Algebra 26 (1998) 1547–1555; K.R. Fuller, *-Modules over ring extensions, Comm. In this paper we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions on the parameters for the boundedness of the fractional maximal operator and the fractional integral operator on the Laguerre hypergroup from the spaces to the spaces and from the spaces to the weak spaces .  相似文献

We prove that the quantum double of the quasi-Hopf algebra of dimension attached in [P. Etingof, S. Gelaki, On radically graded finite-dimensional quasi-Hopf algebras, Mosc. Math. J. 5 (2) (2005) 371–378] to a simple complex Lie algebra and a primitive root of unity q of order n2 is equivalent to Lusztig's small quantum group (under some conditions on n). We consider a triple of N-functions (M,H,J) that satisfy the Δ-condition, and suppose that an additive variant of interpolation inequality holds
where , is an arbitrary set invariant with respect to external and internal dilations. We show that the above inequality implies its certain nonlinear variant involving the expressions and . We study the uniqueness of limit cycles (periodic solutions that are isolated in the set of periodic solutions) in the scalar ODE in terms of {ik}, {jk}, {nk}. Our main result characterizes, under some additional hypotheses, the exponents {ik}, {jk}, {nk}, such that for any choice of the equation has at most one limit cycle. The obtained results have direct application to rigid planar vector fields, thus, planar systems of the form x=y+xR(x,y), y=−x+yR(x,y), where . Concretely, when the set has at least three elements (or exactly one) and another technical condition is satisfied, we characterize the exponents {ik}, {jk} such that the origin of the rigid system is a center for any choice of and also when there are no limit cycles surrounding the origin for any choice of .  相似文献

Oscillation of second-order damped dynamic equations on time scales   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
The study of dynamic equations on time scales has been created in order to unify the study of differential and difference equations. The general idea is to prove a result for a dynamic equation where the domain of the unknown function is a so-called time scale, which may be an arbitrary closed subset of the reals. This way results not only related to the set of real numbers or set of integers but those pertaining to more general time scales are obtained. In this paper, by employing the Riccati transformation technique we will establish some oscillation criteria for second-order linear and nonlinear dynamic equations with damping terms on a time scale . Our results in the special case when and extend and improve some well-known oscillation results for second-order linear and nonlinear differential and difference equations and are essentially new on the time scales , h>0, for q>1, , etc. Some examples are considered to illustrate our main results.  相似文献

Let be an ideal of subsets of a metric space X,d. This paper considers a strengthening of the notion of uniform continuity of a function restricted to members of which reduces to ordinary continuity when consists of the finite subsets of X and agrees with uniform continuity on members of when is either the power set of X or the family of compact subsets of X. The paper also presents new function space topologies that are well suited to this strengthening. As a consequence of the general theory, we display necessary and sufficient conditions for continuity of the pointwise limit of a net of continuous functions.  相似文献

We study those filters on for which weak -convergence of bounded sequences in C(K) is equivalent to point-wise -convergence. We show that it is sufficient to require this property only for C[0,1] and that the filter-analogue of the Rainwater extremal test theorem arises from it. There are ultrafilters which do not have this property and under the continuum hypothesis there are ultrafilters which have it. This implies that the validity of the Lebesgue dominated convergence theorem for -convergence is more restrictive than the property which we study.  相似文献

For the linear regression model , we assume that for a given positive definite scale matrix , the error vector has a multivariate normal distribution and has the inverted Wishart distribution. For under an orthogonal sub-space restriction , we propose restricted unbiased, preliminary test and Stein-type estimators of variance of the error term, for when the scale of the inverse Wishart distribution is assumed to be unknown. In this paper, we first consider the problem of defining IFS operators on the space of non-empty compact and convex subsets of . After defining a complete metric on , we construct an IFS operator and show some properties. A notable feature is the definition of a type of weak inner product on . We then define a family of complete metrics on the space of all measurable set-valued functions (with values in ), and extend the weak inner product to this space. Following this, we construct IFS operators on these spaces. We close with a brief discussion of the inverse problem of approximating an arbitrary multifunction by the attractor of an IFS.  相似文献
