The aim of this work is to ascertain the characterization of the existence of coexistence states for a class of cooperative systems supported by the study of an associated non-local equation through classical variational methods. Thanks to those results, we are able to obtain the blow-up behavior of the solutions in the whole domain for certain values of the main continuation parameter.  相似文献

For the problem given by uτ=(ξrumuξ)ξ/ξr+f(u) for 0<ξ<a, 0<τ<Λ, u(ξ,0)=u0(ξ) for 0≤ξa, and u(0,τ)=0=u(a,τ) for 0<τ<Λ, where a and m are positive constants, r is a constant less than 1, f(u) is a positive function such that limucf(u)= for some positive constant c, and u0(ξ) is a given function satisfying u0(0)=0=u0(a), this paper studies quenching of the solution u.  相似文献

This work studies the large time behavior of free boundary and continuous dependence on nonlinearity for the Cauchy problem of a degenerate parabolic partial differential equation with absorption. Our objective is to give an explicit expression of speed of propagation of the solution and to show that the solution depends on the nonlinearity of the equation continuously.  相似文献

We consider a class of ultraparabolic differential equations that satisfy the Hörmander’s hypoellipticity condition and we prove that the weak solutions to the equation with measurable coefficients are locally bounded functions. The method extends the Moser’s iteration procedure and has previously been employed in the case of operators verifying a further homogeneity assumption. Here we remove that assumption by proving some potential estimates and some ad hoc Sobolev type inequalities for solutions.  相似文献

Uniform bound for the solutions of non-uniform parabolic equations in highly heterogeneous media is concerned. The media considered are periodic and they consist of a connected high permeability sub-region and a disconnected matrix block subset with low permeability. Parabolic equations with diffusion depending on the permeability of the media have fast diffusion in the high permeability sub-region and slow diffusion in the low permeability subset, and they form non-uniform parabolic equations. Each medium is associated with a positive number ??, denoting the size ratio of matrix blocks to the whole domain of the medium. Let the permeability ratio of the matrix block subset to the connected high permeability sub-region be of the order ??2τ for τ∈(0,1]τ(0,1]. It is proved that the Hölder norm of the solutions of the above non-uniform parabolic equations in the connected high permeability sub-region are bounded uniformly in ??. One example also shows that the Hölder norm of the solutions in the disconnected subset may not be bounded uniformly in ??.  相似文献

We bound the modulus of continuity of solutions to quasilinear parabolic equations in one space variable in terms of the initial modulus of continuity and elapsed time. In particular we characterize those equations for which the Lipschitz constants of solutions can be bounded in terms of their initial oscillation and elapsed time.  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear heat equation with nonlocal reaction term in space , in smoothly bounded domains. We prove the existence of a universal bound for all nonnegative global solutions of this equation. Moreover, in contrast with similar recent results for equations with local reaction terms, this is shown to hold for all p>1. As an interesting by-product of our proof, we derive for this equation a smoothing effect under weaker assumptions than for corresponding problem with local reaction.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the stability/instability of a class of positive spiky steady states for a quasi-linear cross-diffusion system describing two-species competition. By detailed spectral analysis, it is proved that the spiky steady states for the related shadow system are linearly unstable and the spiky steady states for the original cross-diffusion system are non-linearly unstable.  相似文献

We consider the blow-up of solutions of equations of the form
ut=div(ρ(|∇u|2) grad u)+f(u)ut=div(ρ(|u|2) grad u)+f(u)
by means of a differential inequality technique. A lower bound for blow-up time is determined if blow-up does occur as well as a criterion for blow-up and conditions which ensure that blow-up cannot occur.  相似文献
