Linear and quasilinear parabolic equations in Sobolev space

We consider linear parabolic equations of second order in a Sobolev space setting. We obtain existence and uniqueness results for such equations on a closed two-dimensional manifold, with minimal assumptions about the regularity of the coefficients of the elliptic operator. In particular, we derive a priori estimates relating the Sobolev regularity of the coefficients of the elliptic operator to that of the solution. The results obtained are used in conjunction with an iteration argument to yield existence results for quasilinear parabolic equations.     

On nonlocal solutions of semilinear equations of the Sobolev type

We prove the existence and uniqueness of a classical solution of the Cauchy problem and the Showalter problem for some semilinear equations of the Sobolev type on a given interval. The abstract results are used to study initial-boundary value problems for some systems of equations unsolvable for the time derivative.     

The Cauchy problem for critical and subcritical semilinear parabolic equations in Lr (II), initial data in critical Sobolev spaces Ḣ−s,rs

By presenting some time–space L^p−L^r estimates, we will establish the local and global existence and uniqueness of solutions for semilinear parabolic equations with the Cauchy data in critical Sobolev spaces of negative indices. Our results contain the complex (derivative) Ginzburg–Landau equation and the Cahn–Hilliard equation as special cases.     

On an inverse problem for a parabolic equation with the Cauchy data on a part of the lateral boundary of a cylinder

Under examination is the question on existence and uniqueness of solutions to some inverse problems for a parabolic equation. We look for a solution of this equation and a coefficient with the use of the data of an initial-boundary value problem and the Cauchy data on a part of the boundary of a spatial cylindrical domain. A solution is sought in Sobolev spaces and the coefficient in the class of continuous functions.

On Cauchy—Dirichlet Problem for Parabolic Quasilinear SPDEs

We study the Cauchy–Dirichlet problem for a second-order quasilinear parabolic stochastic differential equation (SPDE) in a domain with a zero order noise term driven by a cylindrical Brownian motion. Considering its solution as a function with values in a probability space and using the methods of deterministic partial differential equations, we establish the existence and uniqueness of a strong solution in Hölder classes with weights.

The result can be extended via analogous methods to Dirac–Higgs–Yang–Mills theories.     

Embedding theorems and a variational problem for functions on a metric measure space

We use a new method to prove the Sobolev embedding theorem for functions on a metric space and study other questions of the theory of Sobolev spaces on a metric space. We prove the existence and uniqueness of solution to a variational problem.
