There are well-known relations between braid and symmetric groups as well as Artin-Brieskorn braid groups and Coxeter groups: the latter are the factor-groups of the Artin-Brieskorn braid groups. The inverse braid monoid is related to the inverse symmetric monoid in the same way. We show that similar relations exist between the inverse braid monoid of type B and the inverse reflection monoid of type B. This gives a presentation of the latter monoid.  相似文献

We discuss direct and inverse spectral theory of self-adjoint Sturm–Liouville relations with separate boundary conditions in the left-definite setting. In particular, we develop singular Weyl–Titchmarsh theory for these relations. Consequently, we apply de Branges? subspace ordering theorem to obtain inverse uniqueness results for the associated spectral measure. The results can be applied to solve the inverse spectral problem associated with the Camassa–Holm equation.  相似文献

The set of difunctional binary relations DX plays a special role in representing inverse semigroups by binary relations. However, DX is not an inverse semigroup either with the standard operation ∘, or with an alternative operation introduced in [6]. We introduce a new binary operation ⋄ on the set BX of binary relations. We demonstrate that (DX, ⋄) is an inverse semigroup, and the symmetric inverse semigroup (IX, ∘) is a subsemigroup of (DX,⋄).  相似文献

This study, focusing on inverse relations, examines how representative U.S. and Chinese elementary textbooks may provide opportunities to learn fundamental mathematical ideas. Findings from this study indicate that both of the U.S. textbook series (grades K-6) in comparison to the Chinese textbook samples (grades 1–6), presented more instances of inverse relations, while also containing more unique types of problems; yet, the Chinese textbooks provided more opportunities supporting meaningful and explicit learning. In particular, before presenting corresponding practice problems, Chinese textbooks contextualized worked examples of inverse relations in real-world situations to aid in sense making of computational or checking procedures. The Chinese worked examples also differed in representation uses especially through concreteness fading. Finally, the Chinese textbooks spaced learning over time, systematically stressing structural relations including the inverse quantities relationships. These findings shed light on ways to support students’ meaningful and explicit learning of fundamental mathematical ideas in elementary school.  相似文献

This paper investigates the relationship between topology and generalized rough sets induced by binary relations. Some known results regarding the relation based rough sets are reviewed, and some new results are given. Particularly, the relationship between different topologies corresponding to the same rough set model is examined. These generalized rough sets are induced by inverse serial relations, reflexive relations and pre-order relations, respectively. We point that inverse serial relations are weakest relations which can induce topological spaces, and that different relation based generalized rough set models will induce different topological spaces. We proved that two known topologies corresponding to reflexive relation based rough set model given recently are different, and gave a condition under which the both are the same topology.  相似文献

We study generalized inverses on semigroups by means of Green’s relations. We first define the notion of inverse along an element and study its properties. Then we show that the classical generalized inverses (group inverse, Drazin inverse and Moore-Penrose inverse) belong to this class.  相似文献

We present the weighted weak group inverse, which is a new generalized inverse of operators between two Hilbert spaces, and we extend the notation of the weighted weak group inverse for rectangular matrices. Some characterizations and representations of the weighted weak group inverse are investigated. We also apply these results to define and study the weak group inverse for a Hilbert space operator. Using the weak group inverse, we define and characterize various binary relations.  相似文献

A classical result of structured numerical linear algebra states that the inverse of a nonsingular semiseparable matrix is a tridiagonal matrix. Such a property of a semiseparable matrix has been proved to be useful for devising linear complexity solvers, for establishing recurrence relations among its columns or rows and, moreover, for efficiently evaluating its characteristic polynomial. In this paper, we provide sparse structured representations of a semiseparable matrix A which hold independently of the fact that A is singular or not. These relations are found by pointing out the band structure of the inverse of the sum of A plus a certain sparse perturbation of minimal rank. Further, they can be used to determine in a computationally efficient way both a reflexive generalized inverse of A and its characteristic polynomial.  相似文献
