Using the one-to-one correspondence between Kähler-Norden and holomorphic Riemannian metrics, important relations between various Riemannian invariants of manifolds endowed with such metrics were established in my previous paper [19]. In the presented paper, we prove that there is a strict relation between the holomorphic Weyl and Bochner conformal curvature tensors and similarly their covariant derivatives are strictly related. Especially, we find necessary and sufficient conditions for the holomorphic Weyl conformal curvature tensor of a Kähler-Norden manifold to be holomorphically recurrent.  相似文献

In this paper we examine different aspects of the geometry of closed conformal vector fields on Riemannian manifolds. We begin by getting obstructions to the existence of closed conformal and nonparallel vector fields on complete manifolds with nonpositive Ricci curvature, thus generalizing a theorem of T.K. Pan. Then we explain why it is so difficult to find examples, other than trivial ones, of spaces having at least two closed, conformal and homothetic vector fields. We then focus on isometric immersions, firstly generalizing a theorem of J. Simons on cones with parallel mean curvature to spaces furnished with a closed, Ricci null conformal vector field; then we prove general Bernstein-type theorems for certain complete, not necessarily cmc, hypersurfaces of Riemannian manifolds furnished with closed conformal vector fields. In particular, we obtain a generalization of theorems J. Jellett and A. Barros and P. Sousa for complete cmc radial graphs over finitely punctured geodesic spheres of Riemannian space forms.  相似文献

Harmonic morphisms as unit normal bundles¶of minimal surfaces   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Let be an isometric immersion between Riemannian manifolds and be the unit normal bundle of f. We discuss two natural Riemannian metrics on the total space and necessary and sufficient conditions on f for the projection map to be a harmonic morphism. We show that the projection map of the unit normal bundle of a minimal surface in a Riemannian manifold is a harmonic morphism with totally geodesic fibres. Received: 6 February 1999  相似文献

We construct Gauss–Weingarten-like formulas and define O’Neill’s tensors for Riemannian maps between Riemannian manifolds. By using these new formulas, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for Riemannian maps to be totally geodesic. Then we introduce semi-invariant Riemannian maps from almost Hermitian manifolds to Riemannian manifolds, give examples and investigate the geometry of leaves of the distributions defined by such maps. We also obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for semi-invariant maps to be totally geodesic and find decomposition theorems for the total manifold. Finally, we give a classification result for semi-invariant Riemannian maps with totally umbilical fibers.  相似文献

We introduce anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from almost Hermitian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds. We give an example, investigate the geometry of foliations which are arisen from the definition of a Riemannian submersion and check the harmonicity of such submersions. We also find necessary and sufficient conditions for a Langrangian Riemannian submersion, a special anti-invariant Riemannian submersion, to be totally geodesic. Moreover, we obtain decomposition theorems for the total manifold of such submersions.  相似文献

We compute the energy of conformal flows on Riemannian manifolds and we prove that conformal flows on manifolds of constant curvature are critical if and only if they are isometric.   相似文献

We are concerned with the global weak rigidity of the Gauss–Codazzi–Ricci (GCR) equations on Riemannian manifolds and the corresponding isometric immersions of Riemannian manifolds into the Euclidean spaces. We develop a unified intrinsic approach to establish the global weak rigidity of both the GCR equations and isometric immersions of the Riemannian manifolds, independent of the local coordinates, and provide further insights of the previous local results and arguments. The critical case has also been analyzed. To achieve this, we first reformulate the GCR equations with div-curl structure intrinsically on Riemannian manifolds and develop a global, intrinsic version of the div-curl lemma and other nonlinear techniques to tackle the global weak rigidity on manifolds. In particular, a general functional-analytic compensated compactness theorem on Banach spaces has been established, which includes the intrinsic div-curl lemma on Riemannian manifolds as a special case. The equivalence of global isometric immersions, the Cartan formalism, and the GCR equations on the Riemannian manifolds with lower regularity is established. We also prove a new weak rigidity result along the way, pertaining to the Cartan formalism, for Riemannian manifolds with lower regularity, and extend the weak rigidity results for Riemannian manifolds with corresponding different metrics.  相似文献

Summary At first, a necessary and sufficient condition for a K?hler-Norden manifold to be holomorphic Einstein is found. Next, it is shown that the so-called (real) generalized Einstein conditions for K?hler-Norden manifolds are not essential since the scalarcurvature of such manifolds is constant. In this context, we study generalized holomorphic Einstein conditions. Using the one-to-one correspondence between K?hler-Norden structures and holomorphic Riemannian metrics, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for K?hler-Norden manifolds to satisfy the generalized holomorphic Einstein conditions. And a class of new examples of such manifolds is presented. Finally, in virtue of the obtained results, we mention that Theorems 1 and 2 of H. Kim and J. Kim [10] are not true in general.

We study the nontrivial Killing vector fields of constant length and the corresponding flows on complete smooth Riemannian manifolds. Various examples are constructed of the Killing vector fields of constant length generated by the isometric effective almost free but not free actions of S 1 on the Riemannian manifolds close in some sense to symmetric spaces. The latter manifolds include “almost round” odd-dimensional spheres and unit vector bundles over Riemannian manifolds. We obtain some curvature constraints on the Riemannian manifolds admitting nontrivial Killing fields of constant length.  相似文献

We study a broad class of problems where volume is minimized among metrics on a smooth, compact Riemannian manifold that keep the length of a fixed set of curves bounded below. They can be seen as a generalization of isosystolic inequalities. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for continuous minima in a conformal class and necessary conditions are given for local minima.  相似文献

We study harmonic Riemannian maps on locally conformal Kaehler manifolds (lcK manifolds). We show that if a Riemannian holomorphic map between lcK manifolds is harmonic, then the Lee vector field of the domain belongs to the kernel of the Riemannian map under a condition. When the domain is Kaehler, we prove that a Riemannian holomorphic map is harmonic if and only if the lcK manifold is Kaehler. Then we find similar results for Riemannian maps between lcK manifolds and Sasakian manifolds. Finally, we check the constancy of some maps between almost complex (or almost contact) manifolds and almost product manifolds.  相似文献

In this paper we construct compact manifolds with fixed boundary geometry which admit Riemannian metrics of unit volume with arbitrarily large Steklov spectral gap. We also study the effect of localized conformal deformations that fix the boundary geometry. For instance, we prove that it is possible to make the spectral gap arbitrarily large using conformal deformations which are localized on domains of small measure, as long as the support of the deformations contains and connects each component of the boundary.  相似文献

We present the notion of weakly metrically regular functions on manifolds. Then, a sufficient condition for a real valued function defined on a complete Riemannian manifold to be weakly metrically regular is obtained, and two optimization problems on Riemannian manifolds are considered. Moreover, we present a generalization of the Palais–Smale condition for lower semicontinuous functions defined on manifolds. Then, we use this notion to obtain necessary conditions of optimality for a general minimization problem on complete Riemannian manifolds.  相似文献

By establishing an optimal comparison result on the heat kernel of the conformal Laplacian on open manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature, (a) we show that many manifolds with positive scalar curvature do not possess conformal metrics with scalar curvature bounded below by a positive constant; (b) we identify a class of functions with the following property: If the manifold has a scalar curvature in this class, then there exists a complete conformal metric whose scalar curvature is any given function in this class. This class is optimal in some sense; (c) we have identified all manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature, which are “uniformly” conformal to manifolds with zero scalar curvature. Even in the Euclidean case, we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition under which the main existence results in [Ni1] and [KN] on prescribing nonnegative scalar curvature will hold. This condition had been sought in several papers in the last two decades. Received: 11 November 1998 / Revised: 7 April 1999  相似文献

Motivated by the strong maximum principle for the Paneitz operator in dimension 5 or higher found in a preprint by Gursky and Malchiodi and the calculation of the second variation of the Green's function pole's value on ??3 in our preprint, we study the Riemannian metric on 3‐manifolds with positive scalar and Q curvature. Among other things, we show it is always possible to find a constant Q curvature metric in the conformal class. Moreover, the Green's function is always negative away from the pole, and the pole's value vanishes if and only if the Riemannian manifold is conformal diffeomorphic to the standard ??3. Compactness of constant Q curvature metrics in a conformal class and the associated Sobolev inequality are also discussed. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

We generalize the notion of fixed point homogeneous isometric group actions to the context of singular Riemannian foliations. We find that in some cases, positively curved manifolds admitting these so-called point leaf maximal SRF's are diffeo/homeomorphic to compact rank one symmetric spaces. In all cases, manifolds admitting such foliations are cohomology CROSSes or finite quotients of them. Among non-simply connected manifolds, we find examples of such foliations which are non-homogeneous.  相似文献
