This paper is concerned with numerical methods for solving a semi-infinite programming problem. We reformulate the equations and nonlinear complementarity conditions of the first order optimality condition of the problem into a system of semismooth equations. By using a perturbed Fischer–Burmeister function, we develop a smoothing Newton method for solving this system of semismooth equations. An advantage of the proposed method is that at each iteration, only a system of linear equations is solved. We prove that under standard assumptions, the iterate sequence generated by the smoothing Newton method converges superlinearly/quadratically.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a smoothing Newton-like method for solving non-linear systems of equalities and inequalities. By using the so-called max function, we transfer the inequalities into a system of semismooth equalities. Then a smoothing Newton-like method is proposed for solving the reformulated system, which only needs to solve one system of linear equations and to perform one line search at each iteration. The global and local quadratic convergence are studied under appropriate assumptions. Numerical examples show that the new approach is effective.  相似文献

A new smoothing function is given in this paper by smoothing the symmetric perturbed Fischer-Burmeister function. Based on this new smoothing function, we present a smoothing Newton method for solving the second-order cone optimization (SOCO). The method solves only one linear system of equations and performs only one line search at each iteration. Without requiring strict complementarity assumption at the SOCO solution, the proposed algorithm is shown to be globally and locally quadratically convergent. Numerical results demonstrate that our algorithm is promising and comparable to interior-point methods.  相似文献

The mixed complementarity problem (denote by MCP(F)) can be reformulated as the solution of a smooth system of equations. In the paper, based on a perturbed mid function, we propose a new smoothing function, which has an important property, not satisfied by many other smoothing function. The existence and continuity of a smooth path for solving the mixed complementarity problem with a P0 function are discussed. Then we presented a one-step smoothing Newton algorithm to solve the MCP with a P0 function. The global convergence of the proposed algorithm is verified under mild conditions. And by using the smooth and semismooth technique, the rate of convergence of the method is proved under some suitable assumptions.  相似文献

This paper investigates a pseudotransient continuation algorithm for solving a system of nonsmooth equations with inequality constraints. We first transform the inequality constrained system of nonlinear equations to an augmented nonsmooth system, and then employ the pseudotransient continuation algorithm for solving the corresponding augmented nonsmooth system. The method gets its global convergence properties from the dynamics, and inherits its local convergence properties from the semismooth Newton method. Finally, we illustrate the behavior of our approach by some numerical experiments.  相似文献

In this paper we present some semismooth Newton methods for solving the semi-infinite programming problem. We first reformulate the equations and nonlinear complementarity conditions derived from the problem into a system of semismooth equations by using NCP functions. Under some conditions a solution of the system of semismooth equations is a solution of the problem. Then some semismooth Newton methods are proposed for solving this system of semismooth equations. These methods are globally and superlinearly convergent. Numerical results are also given.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a smoothing Newton method for solving the second-order cone programming (SOCP) based on the Chen–Harker–Kanzow–Smale (CHKS) smoothing function. Our smoothing method reformulates SOCP as a nonlinear system of equations and then applies Newton’s method to the system. The proposed method solves only one linear system of equations and performs only one line search at each iteration. It is shown that the method is globally and locally sub-quadratically convergent under a nonsingularity assumption. Numerical results suggest that the method is promising.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a general smoothing Broyden-like quasi-Newton method for solving a class of nonsmooth equations. Under appropriate conditions, the proposed method converges to a solution of the equation globally and superlinearly. In particular, the proposed method provides the possibility of developing a quasi-Newton method that enjoys superlinear convergence even if strict complementarity fails to hold. We pay particular attention to semismooth equations arising from nonlinear complementarity problems, mixed complementarity problems and variational inequality problems. We show that under certain conditions, the related methods based on the perturbed Fischer–Burmeister function, Chen–Harker–Kanzow–Smale smoothing function and the Gabriel–Moré class of smoothing functions converge globally and superlinearly.  相似文献

In this paper, we focus on solving a class of nonlinear complementarity problems with non-Lipschitzian functions. We first introduce a generalized class of smoothing functions for the plus function. By combining it with Robinson's normal equation, we reformulate the complementarity problem as a family of parameterized smoothing equations. Then, a smoothing Newton method combined with a new nonmonotone line search scheme is employed to compute a solution of the smoothing equations. The global and local superlinear convergence of the proposed method is proved under mild assumptions. Preliminary numerical results obtained applying the proposed approach to nonlinear complementarity problems arising in free boundary problems are reported. They show that the smoothing function and the nonmonotone line search scheme proposed in this paper are effective.  相似文献

In this paper, the global and superlinear convergence of smoothing Newton method for solving nonsmooth operator equations in Banach spaces are shown. The feature of smoothing Newton method is to use a smooth function to approximate the nonsmooth mapping. Under suitable assumptions, we prove that the smoothing Newton method is superlinearly convergent. As an application, we use the smoothing Newton method to solve a constrained optimal control problem.  相似文献

In this paper, we present a new one‐step smoothing Newton method for solving the second‐order cone complementarity problem (SOCCP). Based on a new smoothing function, the SOCCP is approximated by a family of parameterized smooth equations. At each iteration, the proposed algorithm only need to solve one system of linear equations and perform only one Armijo‐type line search. The algorithm is proved to be convergent globally and superlinearly without requiring strict complementarity at the SOCCP solution. Moreover, the algorithm has locally quadratic convergence under mild conditions. Numerical experiments demonstrate the feasibility and efficiency of the new algorithm.
