To any pair of coverings fi:XXi, i=1, 2, of smooth projective curves one can associate an abelian subvariety of the Jacobian JX, the Prym variety P(f1, f2) of the pair (f1, f2). In some cases we can compute the type of the restriction of the canonical principal polarization of JX. We obtain 2 families of Prym-Tyurin varieties of exponent 6. Let L be the Euclidean functional with p-th power-weighted edges. Examples include the sum of the p-th power-weighted lengths of the edges in minimal spanning trees, traveling salesman tours, and minimal matchings. Motivated by the works of Steele, Redmond and Yukich (Ann. Appl. Probab. 4, 1057–1073, 1994, Stoch. Process. Appl. 61, 289–304, 1996) have shown that for n i.i.d. sample points {X 1,…,X n } from [0,1] d , L({X 1,…,X n })/n (dp)/d converges a.s. to a finite constant. We study mathematical models of the structure of nilpotent subsemigroups of the semigroup PTD(B n ) of partial contracting transformations of a Boolean, the semigroup TD(B n ) of full contracting transformations of a Boolean, and the inverse semigroup ISD(B n ) of contracting transformations of a Boolean. We propose a convenient graphical representation of the semigroups considered. For each of these semigroups, the uniqueness of its maximal nilpotent subsemigroup is proved. For PTD(B n ) and TD(B n ) , the capacity of a maximal nilpotent subsemigroup is calculated. For ISD(B n ), we construct estimates for the capacity of a maximal nilpotent subsemigroup and calculate this capacity for small n. For all indicated semigroups, we describe the structure of nilelements and maximal nilpotent subsemigroups of nilpotency degree k and determine the number of elements and subsemigroups for some special cases.  相似文献

We study the vertices and facets of the polytopes of partitions of numbers. The partition polytope Pn is the convex hull of the set of incidence vectors of all partitions n=x1+2x2++nxn. We show that the sequence P1,P2,…,Pn,… can be treated as an embedded chain. The dynamics of behavior of the vertices of Pn, as n increases, is established. Some sufficient and some necessary conditions for a point of Pn to be its vertex are proved. Representation of the partition polytope as a polytope on a partial algebra—which is a generalization of the group polyhedron in the group theoretic approach to the integer linear programming—allows us to prove subadditive characterization of the nontrivial facets of Pn. These facets correspond to extreme rays of the cone of subadditive functions with additional requirements p0=pn and pi+pni=pn,1≤i<n. The trivial facets are explicitly indicated. We also show how all vertices and facets of the polytopes of constrained partitions—in which some numbers are forbidden to participate—can be obtained from those of the polytope Pn. All vertices and facets of Pn for n≤8 and n≤6, respectively, are presented.  相似文献

Let L be a Lie algebra, nilpotent of class 2, over an infinite field K, and suppose that the centre C of L is one dimensional; such Lie algebras are called Heisenberg algebras. Let ρ:L→hom KV be a finite dimensional representation of the Heisenberg algebra L such that ρ(C) contains non-singular linear transformations of V, and denote l(ρ) the ideal of identities for the representation ρ. We prove that the ideals of identities of representations containing I(ρ) and generated by multilinear polynomials satisfy the ACC. Let sl 2(L) be the Lie algebra of the traceless 2×2 matrices over K, and suppose the characteristic of K equals 2. As a corollary we obtain that the ideals of identities of representations of Lie algebras containing that of the regular representation of sl 2(K) and generated by multilinear polynomials, are finitely based. In addition we show that one cannot simply dispense with the condition of multilinearity. Namely, we show that the ACC is violated for the ideals of representations of Lie algebras (over an infinite field of characteristic 2) that contain the identities of the regular representation of sl 2(K).  相似文献

N/Kbe a Galois extension of number fields with finite Galois group G.We describe a new approach for constructing invariants of the G-module structure of the K groups of the ring of integers of N in the Grothendieck group of finitely generated projective Z[G]modules. We study the hyperspace K 0(X) of non-empty compact subsets of a Smyth-complete quasi-metric space (X, d). We show that K 0(X), equipped with the Hausdorff quasi-pseudometric H d forms a (sequentially) Yoneda-complete space. Moreover, if d is a T 1 quasi-metric, then the hyperspace is algebraic, and the set of all finite subsets forms a base for it. Finally, we prove that K 0(X), H d ) is Smyth-complete if (X, d) is Smyth-complete and all compact subsets of X are d −1-precompact.  相似文献

Let G be a finite p-group of order p n and ?(G) be the subgroup of the tensor square of G generated by all symbols x ? x, for all x in G. In the present article, we construct an upper bound for the order of ?(G) and any extra special p-group. It is also shown that ?(G) ? ?(G/G′). Using our result, we obtain the explicit structure of the tensor square of G and π3 SK(G, 1). Finally, the structure of G will be characterized when the bound is attained.  相似文献

If we change the sign of p ? m columns (or rows) of an m × m positive definite symmetric matrix A, the resultant matrix B has p negative eigenvalues. We give systems of inequalities for the eigenvalues of B and of the matrix obtained from B by deleting one row and column. To obtain these, we first develop characterizations of the eigenvalues of B which are analogous to the minimum-maximum properties of the eigenvalues of a symmetric A, i.e. the Courant-Fischer theorem. These results arose from studying probability distributions on the hyperboloid of revolution

Let G be a graph and let Pm(G) denote the number of perfect matchings of G.We denote the path with m vertices by Pm and the Cartesian product of graphs G and H by G×H. In this paper, as the continuance of our paper [W. Yan, F. Zhang, Enumeration of perfect matchings of graphs with reflective symmetry by Pfaffians, Adv. Appl. Math. 32 (2004) 175-188], we enumerate perfect matchings in a type of Cartesian products of graphs by the Pfaffian method, which was discovered by Kasteleyn. Here are some of our results:1. Let T be a tree and let Cn denote the cycle with n vertices. Then Pm(C4×T)=∏(2+α2), where the product ranges over all eigenvalues α of T. Moreover, we prove that Pm(C4×T) is always a square or double a square.2. Let T be a tree. Then Pm(P4×T)=∏(1+3α2+α4), where the product ranges over all non-negative eigenvalues α of T.3. Let T be a tree with a perfect matching. Then Pm(P3×T)=∏(2+α2), where the product ranges over all positive eigenvalues α of T. Moreover, we prove that Pm(C4×T)=[Pm(P3×T)]2.  相似文献

As applications of productivity of coreflective classes of topological spaces, the following results will be proved: (1) Characters of points of βN?N are not smaller than any submeasurable cardinal less or equal to ω2. (2) If κ is a submeasurable cardinal and S is a sequential fan with κ many spines then the tightness of the κ-power of S is equal to κ. In fact, a little more general results are proved.  相似文献

We have studied recently solvability and semi‐cycles of eight systems of difference equations of the following form: where a ∈ [0, + ), the sequences pn, qn, rn, sn are some of the sequences xn and yn, with positive initial values x?j,y?j, j = 1,2, in detail. This paper is devoted to the study of the other eight systems of the form. We show that these systems are also solvable in closed form and describe semi‐cycles of their solutions complementing our previous results on such systems of difference equations.  相似文献

We consider semi-direct products ${\mathbb{C}^{n}\ltimes_{\phi}N}$ of Lie groups with lattices Γ such that N are nilpotent Lie groups with left-invariant complex structures. We compute the Dolbeault cohomology of direct sums of holomorphic line bundles over G/Γ by using the Dolbeaut cohomology of the Lie algebras of the direct product ${\mathbb{C}^{n}\times N}$ . As a corollary of this computation, we can compute the Dolbeault cohomology H p,q (G/Γ) of G/Γ by using a finite dimensional cochain complexes. Computing some examples, we observe that the Dolbeault cohomology varies for choices of lattices Γ.  相似文献
