Let X be a Banach space, K be a scattered compact and T: B C(K)X be a Fréchet smooth operator whose derivative is uniformly continuous. We introduce the smooth biconjugate T**: B C(K)**X** and prove that if T is noncompact, then the derivative of T** at some point is a noncompact linear operator. Using this we conclude, among other things, that either is compact or that ℓ1 is a complemented subspace of X*. We also give some relevant examples of smooth functions and operators, in particular, a C 1,u -smooth noncompact operator from B c O which does not fix any (affine) basic sequence. P. Let T = (T(t))t≥0 be a bounded C-regularized semigroup generated by A on a Banach space X and R(C) be dense in X. We show that if there is a dense subspace Y of X such that for every x ∈ Y, σu(A, Cx), the set of all points λ ∈ iR to which (λ - A)^-1 Cx can not be extended holomorphically, is at most countable and σr(A) N iR = Ф, then T is stable. A stability result for the case of R(C) being non-dense is also given. Our results generalize the work on the stability of strongly continuous senfigroups.  相似文献

In this paper, we characterize a C *-subalgebra C *(x) of B(H), generated by a single operator x. We show that if x is polar-decomposed by aq, where a is the partial isometry part and q is the positive operator part of x, then C *(x) is *-isomorphic to the groupoid crossed product algebra Aq×a\mathbbGa\mathcal{A}_{q}\times_{\alpha }\mathbb{G}_{a} , where Aq=C*(q)\mathcal{A}_{q}=C^{*}(q) and \mathbbGa\mathbb{G}_{a} is the graph groupoid induced by a partial isometry part a of x.  相似文献

We prove the following statement, which is a quantitative form of the Luzin theorem on C-property: Let (X, d, μ) be a bounded metric space with metric d and regular Borel measure μ that are related to one another by the doubling condition. Then, for any function f measurable on X, there exist a positive increasing function η ∈ Ω (η(+0) = 0 and η(t)t a decreases for a certain a > 0), a nonnegative function g measurable on X, and a set EX, μE = 0 , for which
| f(x) - f(y) | \leqslant [ g(x) + g(y) ]h( d( x,y ) ), x,y ? X / E \left| {f(x) - f(y)} \right| \leqslant \left[ {g(x) + g(y)} \right]\eta \left( {d\left( {x,y} \right)} \right),\,x,y \in {{X} \left/ {E} \right.}  相似文献

The so-called weakly d-Koszul-type module is introduced and it turns out that each weakly d-Koszul-type module contains a d-Koszul-type submodule. It is proved that, M ∈ W H J^d(A) if and only if M admits a filtration of submodules: 0 belong to U0 belong to U1 belong to ... belong to Up = M such that all Ui/Ui-1 are d-Koszul-type modules, from which we obtain that the finitistic dimension conjecture holds in W H J^d(A) in a special case. Let M ∈ W H J^d(A). It is proved that the Koszul dual E(M) is Noetherian, Hopfian, of finite dimension in special cases, and E(M) ∈ gr0(E(A)). In particular, we show that M ∈ W H J^d(A) if and only if E(G(M)) ∈ gr0(E(A)), where G is the associated graded functor.  相似文献

Given a sublinear operator T such that is bounded, it can be shown that is bounded, with constant C/(1−q), for every 0 < q < 1. In this paper, we study the converse result, not only for sequence spaces, but for general measure spaces proving that, if T : L q (μ) → X is bounded, with constant C/(1−q), for every and X is Banach, then T : L log (1/L)(μ) → X is bounded. Moreover, this result is optimal. We also show that things are quite different if the Banach condition on X is dropped. Bound on <Emphasis Type="Italic">m</Emphasis>-restricted Edge Connectivity   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
An m-restricted edge cut is an edge cut that separates a connected graph into a disconnected one with no components having order less than m. m-restrict edge connectivity λm is the cardinality of a minimum m-restricted edge cut. Let G be a connected k-regular graph of order at least 2m that contains m-restricted edge cuts and X be a subgraph of G. Let θ(X) denote the number of edges with one end in X and the other not in X and ξm=min{θ(X) ;X is a connected vertex-induced subgraph of order m}.It is proved in this paper that if G has girth at least m/2 2,then λm≤ξm.The upper bound of λm is sharp.  相似文献

A finite group G is called p i -central of height k if every element of order p i of G is contained in the k th -term ζ k (G) of the ascending central series of G. If p is odd, such a group has to be p-nilpotent (Thm. A). Finite p-central p-groups of height p − 2 can be seen as the dual analogue of finite potent p-groups, i.e., for such a finite p-group P the group P1(P) is also p-central of height p − 2 (Thm. B). In such a group P, the index of P p is less than or equal to the order of the subgroup Ω1(P) (Thm. C). If the Sylow p-subgroup P of a finite group G is p-central of height p − 1, p odd, and N G (P) is p-nilpotent, then G is also p-nilpotent (Thm. D). Moreover, if G is a p-soluble finite group, p odd, and P ∈ Syl p (G) is p-central of height p − 2, then N G (P) controls p-fusion in G (Thm. E). It is well-known that the last two properties hold for Swan groups (see [11]).  相似文献

This paper investigates the s-energy of (finite and infinite) well separated sequences of spherical designs on the unit sphere S 2. A spherical n-design is a point set on S 2 that gives rise to an equal weight cubature rule which is exact for all spherical polynomials of degree ≤n. The s-energy E s (X) of a point set of m distinct points is the sum of the potential for all pairs of distinct points . A sequence Ξ = {X m } of point sets X m S 2, where X m has the cardinality card(X m )=m, is well separated if for each pair of distinct points , where the constant λ is independent of m and X m . For all s>0, we derive upper bounds in terms of orders of n and m(n) of the s-energy E s (X m(n)) for well separated sequences Ξ = {X m(n)} of spherical n-designs X m(n) with card(X m(n))=m(n).   相似文献

In the present paper we consider a von Neumann algebra M with a faithful normal semi-finite trace τ, and {α t }, a strongly continuous extension to L p (M, τ) of a semigroup of absolute contractions on L 1(M, τ). By means of a non-commutative Banach Principle we prove for a Besicovitch function b and xL p (M, τ), that the averages 1/T0 T b(t)α t (x)dt converge bilateral almost uniformly in L p (M, τ) as T → 0. In this paper we investigate the spectral exponent, i.e. logarithm of the spectral radius of operators having the form
and acting in spaces Lp(X, μ), where X is a compact topological space, φkC(X), φ = (φk)k=1NC(X)N, and are linear positive operators (Ukf≥ 0 for f≥ 0). We consider the spectral exponent ln r(Aφ) as a functional depending on vector-function φ. We prove that ln r(Aφ) is continuous and on a certain subspace of C(X)N is also convex. This yields that the spectral exponent is the Fenchel-Legendre transform of a convex functional defined on a set of continuous linear positive and normalized functionals on the subspace of coefficients φ that is

As the main result, we show that if G is a finite group such that Γ(G) = Γ(2 F 4(q)), where q = 22m+1 for some m ≧ 1, then G has a unique nonabelian composition factor isomorphic to 2 F 4(q). We also show that if G is a finite group satisfying |G| =|2 F 4(q)| and Γ(G) = Γ(2 F 4(q)), then G2 F 4(q). As a consequence of our result we give a new proof for a conjecture of W. Shi and J. Bi for 2 F 4(q). The third author was supported in part by a grant from IPM (No. 87200022).  相似文献

Let F ? \mathbbC[ XY ]2 F \in \mathbb{C}{\left[ {X,\,Y} \right]^2} be an étale map of degree deg F = d. An étale map G ? \mathbbC[ X,Y ]2 G \in \mathbb{C}{\left[ {X,Y} \right]^2} is called a d-inverse approximation of F if deg Gd and FG =(X + A(X, Y), Y + B(X, Y)) and GF =(X + C(X, Y), Y + D(X, Y)), where the orders of the four polynomials A, B, C, and D are greater than d. It is a well-known result that every \mathbbC2 {\mathbb{C}^2} -automorphism F of degree d has a d-inverse approximation, namely, F −1. In this paper, we prove that if F is a counterexample of degree d to the two-dimensional Jacobian conjecture, then F has no d-inverse approximation. We also give few consequences of this result. Summary We prove that, for any Tychonoff X, the space Cp(X) is K-analytic if and only if it has a compact cover {Kp: p } such that Kp subset Kq whenever p,q and p q. Applying this result we show that if Cp(X) is K-analytic then Cp(X) is K-analytic as well. We also establish that a space Cp(X) is K-analytic and Baire if and only if X is countable and discrete.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the weighted (x(q + 1), x; 2, q)-minihypers. These are weighted sets of x(q + 1) points in PG(2, q) intersecting every line in at least x points. We investigate the decomposability of these minihypers, and define a switching construction which associates to an (x(q + 1), x; 2, q)-minihyper, with xq 2q, not decomposable in the sum of another minihyper and a line, a (j(q + 1), j; 2, q)-minihyper, where j = q 2qx, again not decomposable into the sum of another minihyper and a line. We also characterize particular (x(q + 1), x; 2, q)-minihypers, and give new examples. Additionally, we show that (x(q + 1), x; 2, q)-minihypers can be described as rational sums of lines. In this way, this work continues the research on (x(q + 1), x; 2, q)-minihypers by Hill and Ward (Des Codes Cryptogr 44:169–196, 2007), giving further results on these minihypers.  相似文献

We give a very simple and elementary proof of the existence of a weakly compact family of probability measures {Pθ : θ∈θ} representing an important sublinear expectation- G-expectation E[·]. We also give a concrete approximation of a bounded continuous function X(ω) by an increasing sequence of cylinder functions Lip(Ω) in order to prove that Cb(Ω) belongs to the completion of Lip(Ω) under the natural norm E[|·|].  相似文献

Let G be a simple and simply-connected complex algebraic group, P ⊂ G a parabolic subgroup. We prove an unpublished result of D. Peterson which states that the quantum cohomology QH *(G/P) of a flag variety is, up to localization, a quotient of the homology H *(Gr G ) of the affine Grassmannian Gr G of G. As a consequence, all three-point genus-zero Gromov–Witten invariants of G/P are identified with homology Schubert structure constants of H *(Gr G ), establishing the equivalence of the quantum and homology affine Schubert calculi.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a C*-subalgebra of the algebra of all bounded operators B(l2(X)) on the Hilbert space l2(X)) with one generating element T φ induced by a mapping φ of a set X into itself. We prove that such a C* -algebra has an AF-subalgebra and establish commutativity conditions for the latter. We prove that a C* -algebra generated by a mapping produces a dynamic system such that the corresponding group of automorphisms is invariant on elements of the AF- subalgebra.  相似文献
