The determinant of the Cartan matrix of a finite dimensional algebra is an invariant of the derived category and can be very helpful for derived equivalence classifications. In this paper we determine the determinants of the Cartan matrices for all gentle algebras. This is a class of algebras of tame representation type which occurs naturally in various places in representation theory. The definition of these algebras is of a purely combinatorial nature, and so are our formulae for the Cartan determinants.Received: 29 October 2004  相似文献

A famous result by Drozd says that a finite-dimensional representation-infinite algebra is of either tame or wild representation type. But one has to make assumption on the ground field. The Gabriel-Roiter measure might be an alternative approach to extend these concepts of tame and wild to arbitrary Artin algebras. In particular, the infiniteness of the number of GR segments, i.e. sequences of Gabriel-Roiter measures which are closed under direct predecessors and successors, might relate to the wildness of Artin algebras. As the first step, we are going to study the wild quiver with three vertices, labeled by 1, 2 and 3, and one arrow from 1 to 2 and two arrows from 2 to 3. The Gabriel-Roiter submodules of the indecomposable preprojective modules and quasi-simple modules τiM, i≥0 are described, where M is a Kronecker module and τ=DTr is the Auslander-Reiten translation. Based on these calculations, the existence of infinitely many GR segments will be shown. Moreover, it will be proved that there are infinitely many Gabriel-Roiter measures admitting no direct predecessors.  相似文献

Motivated by constructions in the representation theory of finite dimensional algebras we generalize the notion of Artin-Schelter regular algebras of dimension n to algebras and categories to include Auslander algebras and a graded analogue for infinite representation type. A generalized Artin-Schelter regular algebra or a category of dimension n is shown to have common properties with the classical Artin-Schelter regular algebras. In particular, when they admit a duality, then they satisfy Serre duality formulas and the -category of nice sets of simple objects of maximal projective dimension n is a finite length Frobenius category.  相似文献

We introduce a new category C, which we call the cluster category, obtained as a quotient of the bounded derived category D of the module category of a finite-dimensional hereditary algebra H over a field. We show that, in the simply laced Dynkin case, C can be regarded as a natural model for the combinatorics of the corresponding Fomin-Zelevinsky cluster algebra. In this model, the tilting objects correspond to the clusters of Fomin-Zelevinsky. Using approximation theory, we investigate the tilting theory of C, showing that it is more regular than that of the module category itself, and demonstrating an interesting link with the classification of self-injective algebras of finite representation type. This investigation also enables us to conjecture a generalisation of APR-tilting.  相似文献

We say that an algebra A is periodic if it has a periodic projective resolution as an (A,A)-bimodule. We show that any self-injective algebra of finite representation type is periodic. To prove this, we first apply the theory of smash products to show that for a finite Galois covering BA, B is periodic if and only if A is. In addition, when A has finite representation type, we build upon results of Buchweitz to show that periodicity passes between A and its stable Auslander algebra. Finally, we use Asashiba’s classification of the derived equivalence classes of self-injective algebras of finite type to compute bounds for the periods of these algebras, and give an application to stable Calabi-Yau dimensions.  相似文献

We prove that the class of finite dimensional selfinjective algebras over a field which admit Galois coverings by the repetitive algebras of the quasitilted algebras, with Galois groups generated by compositions of the Nakayama automorphisms with strictly positive automorphisms, is invariant under stable and derived equivalences. We contribute to the classification of finite dimensional algebras under stable equivalence of Morita type. More precisely we give a classification of Erdmann’s algebras of dihedral, semi-dihedral and quaternion type and obtain as byproduct the validity of the Auslander-Reiten conjecture for stable equivalences of Morita type between two algebras, one of which is of dihedral, semi-dihedral or quaternion type.  相似文献

This paper determines the representation type of the Iwahori-Hecke algebras of type B when q≠±1. In particular, we show that a single parameter non-semisimple Iwahori-Hecke algebra of type B has finite representation type if and only if q is a simple root of the Poincaré polynomial, confirming a conjecture of Uno's (J. Algebra 149 (1992) 287).  相似文献

One of the first remarkable results in the representation theory of artin algebras, due to Auslander and Ringel-Tachikawa, is the characterisation of when an artin algebra is representation-finite. In this paper, we investigate aspects of representation-finiteness in the general context of exact categories in the sense of Quillen. In this framework, we introduce “big objects” and prove an Auslander-type “splitting-big-objects” theorem. Our approach generalises and unifies the known results from the literature. As a further application of our methods, we extend the theorems of Auslander and Ringel-Tachikawa to arbitrary dimension, i.e. we characterise when a Cohen-Macaulay order over a complete regular local ring is of finite representation type.  相似文献

Abstract

Graded Artin algebras whose category of graded modules is locally of finite representation type are introduced. The representation theory of such algebras is studied. In the hereditary case and in the stably equivalent to hereditary case, such algebras are classified.  相似文献

Brauer's Problem 1 asks the following: What are the possible complex group algebras of finite groups? It seems that with the present knowledge of representation theory it is not possible to settle this question. The goal of this paper is to present a partial solution to this problem. We conjecture that if the complex group algebra of a finite group does not have more than a fixed number m of isomorphic summands, then its dimension is bounded in terms of m. We prove that this is true for every finite group if it is true for the symmetric groups. The problem for symmetric groups reduces to an explicitly stated question in number theory or combinatorics.  相似文献

We introduce and study the class of weighted locally gentle quivers. This naturally extends the class of gentle quivers and gentle algebras, which have been intensively studied in the representation theory of finite-dimensional algebras, to a wider class of potentially infinite-dimensional algebras. Weights on the arrows of these quivers lead to gradings on the corresponding algebras. For natural grading by path lengths, any locally gentle algebra is Koszul. The class of locally gentle algebras consists of the gentle algebras together with their Koszul duals. Our main result is a general combinatorial formula for the determinant of the weighted Cartan matrix of a weighted locally gentle quiver. We show that this weighted Cartan determinant is a rational function which is completely determined by the combinatorics of the quiver-more precisely by the number and the weight of certain oriented cycles.  相似文献

We investigate when an exact functor --Γ which induces a stable equivalence is part of a stable equivalence of Morita type. If Λ and Γ are finite dimensional algebras over a field k whose semisimple quotients are separable, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for this to be the case. This generalizes a result of Rickard’s for self-injective algebras. As a corollary, we see that the two functors given by tensoring with the bimodules in a stable equivalence of Morita type are right and left adjoints of one another, provided that these bimodules are indecomposable. This fact has many interesting consequences for stable equivalences of Morita type. In particular, we show that a stable equivalence of Morita type induces another stable equivalence of Morita type between certain self-injective algebras associated to the original algebras. We further show that when there exists a stable equivalence of Morita type between Λ and Γ, it is possible to replace Λ by a Morita equivalent k-algebra Δ such that Γ is a subring of Δ and the induction and restriction functors induce inverse stable equivalences.  相似文献

Let Q be a tame quiver of type $\widetilde{\mathbb{A}}_n$ and Rep(Q) the category of finite dimensional representations over an algebraically closed field. A representation is simply called a module. It will be shown that a regular string module has, up to isomorphism, at most two Gabriel–Roiter submodules. The quivers Q with sink-source orientations will be characterized as those, whose central parts do not contain preinjective modules. It will also be shown that there are only finitely many (central) Gabriel–Roiter measures admitting no direct predecessors. This fact will be generalized for all tame quivers.  相似文献

We address two problems with the structure and representation theory of finite W-algebras associated with general linear Lie algebras. Finite W-algebras can be defined using either Kostant's Whittaker modules or a quantum Hamiltonian reduction. Our first main result is a proof of the Gelfand-Kirillov conjecture for the skew fields of fractions of finite W-algebras. The second main result is a parameterization of finite families of irreducible Gelfand-Tsetlin modules using Gelfand-Tsetlin subalgebra. As a corollary, we obtain a complete classification of generic irreducible Gelfand-Tsetlin modules for finite W-algebras.  相似文献

In this paper the relationship between iterated tilted algebras and cluster-tilted algebras and relation extensions is studied. In the Dynkin case, it is shown that the relationship is very strong and combinatorial.  相似文献

From the viewpoint of higher dimensional Auslander–Reiten theory, we introduce a new class of finite dimensional algebras of global dimension n, which we call n-representation infinite. They are a certain analog of representation infinite hereditary algebras, and we study three important classes of modules: n-preprojective, n-preinjective and n  -regular modules. We observe that their homological behaviour is quite interesting. For instance they provide first examples of algebras having infinite Ext1Ext1-orthogonal families of modules. Moreover we give general constructions of n-representation infinite algebras.  相似文献

We prove an étale local-global principle for the telescope conjecture and use it to show that the telescope conjecture holds for derived categories of Azumaya algebras on noetherian schemes as well as for many classifying stacks and gerbes. This specializes to give another proof of the fact that the telescope conjecture holds for noetherian schemes.  相似文献
