In this paper we study a generalization of the Orienteering Problem (OP) which we call the Clustered Orienteering Problem (COP). The OP, also known as the Selective Traveling Salesman Problem, is a problem where a set of potential customers is given and a profit is associated with the service of each customer. A single vehicle is available to serve the customers. The objective is to find the vehicle route that maximizes the total collected profit in such a way that the duration of the route does not exceed a given threshold. In the COP, customers are grouped in clusters. A profit is associated with each cluster and is gained only if all customers belonging to the cluster are served. We propose two solution approaches for the COP: an exact and a heuristic one. The exact approach is a branch-and-cut while the heuristic approach is a tabu search. Computational results on a set of randomly generated instances are provided to show the efficiency and effectiveness of both approaches.  相似文献

The fleet size and mix vehicle routing problem consists of defining the type, the number of vehicles of each type, as well as the order in which to serve the customers with each vehicle when a company has to distribute goods to a set of customers geographically spread, with the objective of minimizing the total costs. In this paper, a heuristic algorithm based on tabu search is proposed and tested on several benchmark instances. The computational results show that the proposed algorithm produces high quality results within a reasonable computing time. Some new best solutions are reported for a set of test problems used in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a periodic vehicle routing problem that includes, in addition to the classical constraints, the possibility of a vehicle doing more than one route per day, as long as the maximum daily operation time for the vehicle is not exceeded. In addition, some constraints relating to accessibility of the vehicles to the customers, in the sense that not every vehicle can visit every customer, must be observed. We refer to the problem we consider here as the site-dependent multi-trip periodic vehicle routing problem. An algorithm based on tabu search is presented for the problem and computational results presented on randomly generated test problems that are made publicly available. Our algorithm is also tested on a number of routing problems from the literature that constitute particular cases of the proposed problem. Specifically we consider the periodic vehicle routing problem; the site-dependent vehicle routing problem; the multi-trip vehicle routing problem; and the classical vehicle routing problem. Computational results for our tabu search algorithm on test problems taken from the literature for all of these problems are presented.  相似文献

This paper presents a metaheuristic method for optimizing transit networks, including route network design, vehicle headway, and timetable assignment. Given information on transit demand, the street network of the transit service area, and total fleet size, the goal is to identify a transit network that minimizes a passenger cost function. Transit network optimization is a complex combinatorial problem due to huge search spaces of route network, vehicle headways, and timetables. The methodology described in this paper includes a representation of transit network variable search spaces (route network, headway, and timetable); a user cost function based on passenger random arrival times, route network, vehicle headways, and timetables; and a metaheuristic search scheme that combines simulated annealing, tabu, and greedy search methods. This methodology has been tested with problems reported in the existing literature, and applied to a large-scale realistic network optimization problem. The results show that the methodology is capable of producing improved solutions to large-scale transit network design problems in reasonable amounts of time and computing resources.  相似文献

In the open vehicle routing problem (OVRP), the objective is to minimise the number of vehicles and then minimise the total distance (or time) travelled. Each route starts at the depot and ends at a customer, visiting a number of customers, each once, en route, without returning to the depot. The demand of each customer must be completely fulfilled by a single vehicle. The total demand serviced by each vehicle must not exceed vehicle capacity. Additionally, in one variant of the problem, the travel time of each vehicle should not exceed an upper limit.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the non-bifurcated network design problem where a given set of cities must be connected by installing on a given set of links integer multiples of some base capacity so that a set of commodity demands can be routed. Each commodity flow is constrained to run through a single path along the network. The objective is to minimize the sum of capacity installation and routing costs. We present an exact algorithm and four new heuristics. The first heuristic generates an initial feasible solution, then it improves it until a necessary condition for optimality is satisfied. Two heuristics are partial enumeration methods and the last one iteratively applies a tabu search method to different initial feasible solutions. Computational results over a set of test problems from the literature show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.  相似文献

This paper surveys the research on evolutionary algorithms for the Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (VRPTW). The VRPTW can be described as the problem of designing least cost routes from a single depot to a set of geographically scattered points. The routes must be designed in such a way that each point is visited only once by exactly one vehicle within a given time interval. All routes start and end at the depot, and the total demands of all points on one particular route must not exceed the capacity of the vehicle. The main types of evolutionary algorithms for the VRPTW are genetic algorithms and evolution strategies. In addition to describing the basic features of each method, experimental results for the benchmark test problems of Solomon (1987) and Gehring and Homberger (1999) are presented and analyzed.  相似文献

This paper deals with a recently introduced routing problem variant called the undirected capacitated arc routing problem with profits (UCARPP). The UCARPP model considered in the present study is primarily aimed at generating the route set which maximizes the profit collected from a set of potential customers, represented by edges of the examined transportation network. The secondary objective is to minimize the total route travel time. The generated routes are subject both to capacity and travel time constraints. To tackle the examined problem, we propose a local search metaheuristic development which explores two solution neighborhood structures. The conducted search is effectively diversified by means of the promises concept which is based on the aspiration criteria used in tabu search approaches. The proposed algorithm was tested on UCARPP benchmark instances taken from the literature. It efficiently produced high-quality results, improving several previously best known solutions.  相似文献

In the single vehicle routing allocation problem (SVRAP) we have a single vehicle, together with a set of customers, and the problem is one of deciding a route for the vehicle (starting and ending at given locations) such that it visits some of the customers. Customers not visited by the vehicle can either be allocated to a customer on the vehicle route, or they can be isolated. The objective is to minimize a weighted sum of routing, allocation and isolation costs. One special case of the general SVRAP is the median cycle problem, also known as the ring star problem, where no isolated vertices are allowed. Other special cases include the covering tour problem, the covering salesman problem and the shortest covering path problem. In this paper, we present a tabu search algorithm for the SVRAP. Our tabu search algorithm includes aspiration, path relinking and frequency-based diversification. Computational results are presented for test problems used previously in the literature and our algorithm is compared with the results obtained by other researchers. We also report results for much larger problems than have been considered by others.  相似文献
