Composition Cesàro Operator on the Normal Weight Zygmund Space in High Dimensions

Let n>1 and B be the unit ball in n dimensions complex space Cⁿ.Suppose thatφis a holomorphic self-map of B andψ∈H(B)withψ(0)=0.A kind of integral operator,composition Cesàro operator,is defined by T_φψ(f)(z)=∫¹0f[φ(tz)]Rψ(tz)dt/t,f∈(B)z∈B.In this paper,the authors characterize the conditions that the composition Cesàro operator T_φ,ψis bounded or compact on the normal weight Zygmund space Z_μ(B).At the same time,the sufficient and necessary conditions for all cases are given.

Delta Shocks and Vacuum States in Vanishing Pressure Limits of Solutions to the Relativistic Euler Equations

The Riemann problems for the Euler system of conservation laws of energy and momentum in special relativity as pressure vanishes are considered. The Riemann solutions for the pressureless relativistic Euler equations are obtained constructively. There are two kinds of solutions, the one involves delta shock wave and the other involves vacuum. The authors prove that these two kinds of solutions are the limits of the solutions as pressure vanishes in the Euler system of conservation laws of energy and momentum in special relativity.

Boundedness of dyadic derivative and Cesáro mean operator on some B-valued martingale spaces

In this article, it is proved that the maximal operator of one-dimensional dyadic derivative of dyadic integral I* and Cesàro mean operator σ* are bounded from the B-valued martingale Hardy spaces pΣα, Dα, pLα, p H#α, pKr to Lα (0 < α < ∞), respectively. The facts show that it depends on the geometrical properties of the Banach space.

New cubic rational basis with tension shape parameters

By using the blossom approach, we construct four new cubic rational Bernsteinlike basis functions with two shape parameters, which form a normalized B-basis and include the cubic Bernstein basis and the cubic Said-Ball basis as special cases. Based on the new basis, we propose a class of C2 continuous cubic rational B-spline-like basis functions with two local shape parameters, which includes the cubic non-uniform B-spline basis as a special case.Their totally positive property is proved. In addition, we extend the cubic rational Bernsteinlike basis to a triangular domain which has three shape parameters and includes the cubic triangular Bernstein-B′ezier basis and the cubic triangular Said-Ball basis as special cases. The G1 continuous conditions are deduced for the joining of two patches. The shape parameters in the bases serve as tension parameters and play a foreseeable adjusting role on generating curves and patches.

On the (C, α)-means with respect to the Walsh system

In our main result we prove strong convergence theorems for Cesàro means (C, α) on the Hardy spaces H _1/(1+α), where 0 < α < 1.     

Rosenthal type inequalities for asymptotically almost negatively associated random variables and applications

In this paper, we establish some Rosenthal type inequalities for maximum partial sums of asymptotically almost negatively associated random variables, which extend the corresponding results for negatively associated random variables. As applications of these inequalities, by employing the notions of residual Cesàro α-integrability and strong residual Cesàro α-integrability, we derive some results on L _p convergence where 1 < p < 2 and complete convergence. In addition, we estimate the rate of convergence in Marcinkiewicz-Zygmund strong law for partial sums of identically distributed random variables.     

Mercerian theorems involving Cesàro means of positive order

IfC _α denotes the Cesàro matrix of arbitrary positive order α, we investigate the setD _α of complex numbers μ for which the sequence-to-sequence transformation defined by the matrixI?μC _α is equivalent to convergence. In particular, we show thatD _α is strictly decreasing as α increases. Most previous investigations have taken μ real and/or α an integer; we make no such restrictions.     

On the convergence of generalized Cesàro means of trigonometric Fourier series. II

The behavior of generalized Cesàro (C, α _n )-means (α _n ∈ (?1,0)) of trigonometric Fourier series of H ^ω classes in the space of continuous functions is studied. The sharpness of the results obtained is shown.     

Properties of Cesàro means of double Fourier series

The pointwise behavior of partial sums and Cesàro means of trigonometric series were studied in many papers. This paper deals with the behavior of rectangular Cesàro means at a point (x ₀, y ₀) for functions f(x, y) bounded in the square [?π; π]² and satisfying the condition |f(x ₀ + s, y ₀ + t) ? f(x ₀, y ₀)| ≤ ρ $ \left( {\sqrt {s^2 + t^2 } } \right) $ ^α , for some α ∈ (0, 1) and all s and t.     

On the convergence in L 1-norm of Cesàro means with respect to representative product systems

The aim of this paper is to prove that the Cesàro means of order α (0 < α < 1) of the Fourier series with respect to representative product systems converge to the function in L ¹-norm, only for certain values of α which depend on some parameter of the representative product system.     

Cesàro α-Integrability and Laws of Large Numbers-II

For a sequence of random variables, a new set of properties called Cesàro α-Integrability and Strong Cesàro α-Integrability was recently introduced in an earlier paper and these properties were used to prove several new laws of large numbers, namely both Strong and Weak Laws of Large Numbers for pairwise-independent random variables as well as WLLN for some dependent sequences of random variables. In this paper, a set of weaker conditions called Residual Cesàro α-Integrability and Strong Residual Cesàro α-Integrability are introduced and significant improvements over earlier results are obtained. In addition, new results on L _p -convergence, for 0 < p < 2, and SLLN for some dependent sequences are proved.

Iteration products of methods of summability and natural scales

A method of summability is shown to be equivalent to the Cesàro method, (C,k) and its action on the Borel-type method, (B,α,β) gives rise to the natural scale for β. This is compared with what happens for the Abel-type method, (A_λ).
