For a domainU on a certaink-dimensional minimal submanifold ofS n orH n, we introduce a “modified volume”M(U) ofU and obtain an optimal isoperimetric inequality forU k k ω k M (D) k-1 Vol(∂D) k , where ω k is the volume of the unit ball ofR k . Also, we prove that ifD is any domain on a minimal surface inS + n (orH n, respectively), thenD satisfies an isoperimetric inequality2π A≤L 2+A2 (2π A≤L2−A2 respectively). LetR*G be a crossed product of the groupG over the prime ringR and assume thatR*G is also prime. In this paper we study unitsq in the Martindale ring of quotientsQ 0(R*G) which normalize bothR and the group of trivial units ofR*G. We obtain quite detailed information on their structure. We then study the group ofX-inner automorphisms ofR*G induced by such elements. We show in fact that this group is fairly close to the group of automorphisms ofR*G induced by certain trivial units inQ 0(R)*G. As an application we specialize to the case whereR=U(L) is the enveloping algebra of a Lie algebraL. Here we study the semi-invariants forL andG which are contained inQ 0(R*G) and we obtain results which extend known properties ofU(L). Finally, every cocommutative Hopf algebraH over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0 is of the formH=U(L)*G.  Let X be one of the Banach spaces c 0 , ℓ p , 1≤p<∞; Ω⊂X pseudoconvex open, a holomorphic Banach vector bundle with a Banach Lie group G * for structure group. We show that a suitable Runge-type approximation hypothesis on X, G * (which we also prove for G * a solvable Lie group) implies the vanishing of the sheaf cohomology groups H q (Ω, 𝒪 E ), q≥1, with coefficients in the sheaf of germs of holomorphic sections of E. Further, letting 𝒪Γ (𝒞Γ) be the sheaf of germs of holomorphic (continuous) sections of a Banach Lie group bundle Γ→Ω with Banach Lie groups G, G * for fiber group and structure group, we show that a suitable Runge-type approximation hypothesis on X, G, G * (which we prove again for G, G * solvable Lie groups) implies the injectivity (and for X=ℓ1 also the surjectivity) of the Grauert–Oka map H 1 (Ω, 𝒪Γ)→H 1 (Ω, 𝒞Γ) of multiplicative cohomology sets. In this paper, we determine the X-inner automorphisms of the smash product R # U(L) of a prime ring R by the universal enveloping algebra U(L) of a characteristic 0 Lie algebra L. Specifically, we show that any such automorphism σ stabilizing R can be written as a product σ = σ1σ2, where σ1 is induced by conjugation by a unit of Q3(R), the symmetric Martindale ring of quotients of R, and σ2 is induced by conjugation by a unit of Q3(T). Here S = Ql(R) is the left Martindale ring of quotients of R and T is the centralizer of S in S # U(L) - R # U(L). One of the subtleties of the proof is that we must work in several unrelated overrings of R # U(L).  相似文献

This paper provides universal upper bounds for the exponent of the kernel and of the cokernel of the classical Boardman homomorphism b n : π n (X)→H n (H;ℤ), from the cohomotopy groups to the ordinary integral cohomology groups of a spectrum X, and of its various generalizations π n (X)→E n (X), F n (X)→(EF) n (X), F n (X)→H n (X;π 0 F) and F n (X)→H n+t (X;π t F) for other cohomology theories E *(−) and F *(−). These upper bounds do not depend on X and are given in terms of the exponents of the stable homotopy groups of spheres and, for the last three homomorphisms, in terms of the order of the Postnikov invariants of the spectrum F.  相似文献

Let X be a smooth projective variety of dimension n over an algebraically closed field k with char(k)=p>0 and F:XX 1 be the relative Frobenius morphism. For any vector bundle W on X, we prove that instability of F * W is bounded by instability of W⊗T1 X ) (0≤ℓ≤n(p-1)) (Corollary 4.9). For each 1 ≤ s < ∞, let the conditions (α) U ∈ Π s (C(Ω, X), Y); (β)U # ∈ Π s (C(Ω), Π s (X, Y)); (γ) U # ε Π s (X, Π s (C(Ω), Y)). A general result, [10, 13], asserts that (α) implies (β) and (γ). In this paper, in case s = 2, we give necessary and sufficient conditions that natural operators on C([0, 1], l p ) with values in l 1 satisfies (α), (β) and (γ), which show that the above implication is the best possible result.  相似文献

In this paper, the exchange rings R whose primitive factor rings are artinian are studied. The following results are proved: for any exchange ring R and any two-sided ideal I of R, K 0(π) : K 0(R)→K 0(R/I) is a group epimorphism with the kernel {[P]−[Q] |P = PI, Q = QI}; there is an isomorphism of ordered groups from K 0(R) to the gorup of all such functions ƒ P : XQ(Pp(R)), where X is the set of all primitive ideals of R and Q, the rational integers. Let k≥2 be an integer and G = (V(G), E(G)) be a k-edge-connected graph. For XV(G), e(X) denotes the number of edges between X and V(G) − X. Let {si, ti}⊆XiV(G) (i=1,2) and X1X2=∅. We here prove that if k is even and e(Xi)≤2k−1 (i=1,2), then there exist paths P1 and P2 such that Pi joins si and ti, V(Pi)⊆Xi (i=1,2) and GE(P1P2) is (k−2)-edge-connected (for odd k, if e(X1)≤2k−2 and e(X2)≤2k−1, then the same result holds [10]), and we give a generalization of this result and some other results about paths not containing given edges.  相似文献

In this paper, firstly we calculate Picard groups of a nilpotent orbit 𝒪 in a classical complex simple Lie algebra and discuss the properties of being ℚ-factorial and factorial for the normalization 𝒪tilde; of the closure of 𝒪. Then we consider the problem of symplectic resolutions for 𝒪tilde;. Our main theorem says that for any nilpotent orbit 𝒪 in a semi-simple complex Lie algebra, equipped with the Kostant-Kirillov symplectic form ω, if for a resolution π:Z𝒪tilde;, the 2-form π*(ω) defined on π−1(𝒪) extends to a symplectic 2-form on Z, then Z is isomorphic to the cotangent bundle T *(G/P) of a projective homogeneous space, and π is the collapsing of the zero section. It proves a conjecture of Cho-Miyaoka-Shepherd-Barron in this special case. Using this theorem, we determine all varieties 𝒪tilde; which admit such a resolution. Let X be a smooth complex projective variety with Neron–Severi group isomorphic to ℤ, and D an irreducible divisor with normal crossing singularities. Assume 1<r≤ 3. We prove that if π1(X) doesn't have irreducible PU(r) representations, then π1(X- D) doesn't have irreducible U(r) representations. A non-complete graph G is called an (n,k)-graph if it is n-connected but GX is not (n−|X|+1)-connected for any X V (G) with |X|≤k. Mader conjectured that for k≥3 the graph K2k+2−(1−factor) is the unique (2k,k)-graph(up to isomorphism). Here we prove this conjecture.  相似文献
