Due to its potential applications in multiplexing techniques such as time division multiple access and frequency division multiple access, superframe has interested some mathematicians and engineering specialists. In this paper, we investigate super Gabor systems on discrete periodic sets in terms of a suitable Zak transform matrix, which can model signals to appear periodically but intermittently. Complete super Gabor systems, super Gabor frames and Gabor duals for super Gabor frames on discrete periodic sets are characterized; An explicit expression of Gabor duals is established, and the uniqueness of Gabor duals is characterized. On the other hand, discrete periodic sets admitting complete super Gabor systems, super Gabor frames, super Gabor Riesz bases are also characterized. Some examples are also provided to illustrate the general theory.  相似文献

We consider multiwindow Gabor systems (G N ; a, b) with N compactly supported windows and rational sampling density N/ab. We give another set of necessary and sufficient conditions for two multiwindow Gabor systems to form a pair of dual frames in addition to the Zibulski–Zeevi and Janssen conditions. Our conditions come from the back transform of Zibulski–Zeevi condition to the time domain but are more informative to construct window functions. For example, the masks satisfying unitary extension principle (UEP) condition generate a tight Gabor system when restricted on [0, 2] with a?=?1 and b?=?1. As another application, we show that a multiwindow Gabor system (G N ; 1, 1) forms an orthonormal basis if and only if it has only one window (N?=?1) which is a sum of characteristic functions whose supports ‘essentially’ form a Lebesgue measurable partition of the unit interval. Our criteria also provide a rich family of multiwindow dual Gabor frames and multiwindow tight Gabor frames for the particular choices of lattice parameters, number and support of the windows. Due to its good potential for digital signal processing, discrete Gabor analysis has interested some mathematicians. This paper addresses Gabor systems on discrete periodic sets, which can model signals to appear periodically but intermittently. Complete Gabor systems and Gabor frames on discrete periodic sets are characterized; a sufficient and necessary condition on what periodic sets admit complete Gabor systems is obtained; this condition is also proved to be sufficient and necessary for the existence of sets E such that the Gabor systems generated by χ E are tight frames on these periodic sets; our proof is constructive, and all tight frames of the above form with a special frame bound can be obtained by our method; periodic sets admitting Gabor Riesz bases are characterized; some examples are also provided to illustrate the general theory. Let S be a periodic set in R and L2(S) be a subspace of L2 (R). This paper investigates the density problem for multiwindow Gabor systems in L2(S) for the case that the product of time-frequency shift parameters is a rational number. We derive the density conditions for a multiwindow Gabor system to be complete (a frame) in L2(S). Under such conditions, we construct a multiwindow tight Gabor frame for L2(S) with window functions being characteristic functions. We also provide a characterization of a multiwindow Gabor frame to be a Riesz basis for L2(S), and obtain the density condition for a multiwindow Gabor Riesz basis for L2(S).  相似文献

This paper addresses Gabor analysis on a discrete periodic set. Such a scenario can potentially find its applications in signal processing where signals may present on a union of disconnected discrete index sets. We focus on the Gabor systems generated by characteristic functions. A sufficient and necessary condition for a set to be a tight Gabor set in discrete periodic sets is obtained; discrete periodic sets admitting a tight Gabor set are also characterized; the perturbation of tight Gabor sets is investigated; an algorithm to determine whether a set is a tight Gabor set is presented. Furthermore, we prove that an arbitrary Gabor frame set can be represented as the union of a tight Gabor set and a Gabor Bessel set.  相似文献

Pseudoframes for subspaces have been recently introduced by Li and Ogawa as a tool to analyze lower dimensional data with arbitrary flexibility of both the analyzing and the dual sequence. In this paper we study Gabor pseudoframes for affine subspaces by focusing on geometrical properties of their associated sets of parameters. We first introduce a new notion of Beurling dimension for discrete subsets of ℝ d by employing a certain generalized Beurling density. We present several properties of Beurling dimension including a comparison with other notions of dimension showing, for instance, that our notion includes the mass dimension as a special case. Then we prove that Gabor pseudoframes for affine subspaces satisfy a certain Homogeneous Approximation Property, which implies invariance under time–frequency shifts of an approximation by elements from the pseudoframe. The main result of this paper is a classification of Gabor pseudoframes for affine subspaces by means of the Beurling dimension of their sets of parameters. This provides us, in particular, with a Nyquist dimension which separates sets of parameters of pseudoframes from those of non-pseudoframes and which links a fixed value to sets of parameters of pseudo-Riesz sequences. These results are even new for the special case of Gabor frames for an affine subspace.   相似文献

Signal analysis with classical Gabor frames leads to a fixed time-frequency resolution over the whole time-frequency plane. To overcome the limitations imposed by this rigidity, we propose an extension of Gabor theory that leads to the construction of frames with time-frequency resolution changing over time or frequency. We describe the construction of the resulting nonstationary Gabor frames and give the explicit formula for the canonical dual frame for a particular case, the painless case. We show that wavelet transforms, constant-Q transforms and more general filter banks may be modeled in the framework of nonstationary Gabor frames. Further, we present the results in the finite-dimensional case, which provides a method for implementing the above-mentioned transforms with perfect reconstruction. Finally, we elaborate on two applications of nonstationary Gabor frames in audio signal processing, namely a method for automatic adaptation to transients and an algorithm for an invertible constant-Q transform.  相似文献

We give a characterization for the weighted irregular Gabor tight frames or dual systems in L2(Rn) in terms of the distributional symplectic Fourier transform of a positive Borel measure on R2n naturally associated with the system and the short-time Fourier transform of the windows in the case where the window (or at least one of the windows in the case of dual systems) belongs to S(Rn). This result implies that, for certain classes of windows such as generalized Gaussians or “extreme-value” windows, the only weighted irregular Gabor tight frames (or even dual systems with both windows in the same class) that can be constructed with these windows are the trivial ones, corresponding to the measure μ=1 on R2n. Furthermore, we show that, if a such Gabor system admits a dual which is of Gabor type, then the Beurling density of the associated measure exists and is equal to one.  相似文献

We introduce a new notion for the deformation of Gabor systems. Such deformations are in general nonlinear and, in particular, include the standard jitter error and linear deformations of phase space. With this new notion we prove a strong deformation result for Gabor frames and Gabor Riesz sequences that covers the known perturbation and deformation results. Our proof of the deformation theorem requires a new characterization of Gabor frames and Gabor Riesz sequences. It is in the style of Beurling's characterization of sets of sampling for bandlimited functions and extends significantly the known characterization of Gabor frames “without inequalities” from lattices to non-uniform sets.  相似文献

We provide explicit constructions of particularly convenient dual pairs of Gabor frames. We prove that arbitrary polynomials restricted to sufficiently large intervals will generate Gabor frames, at least for small modulation parameters. Unfortunately, no similar function can generate a dual Gabor frame, but we prove that almost any such frame has a dual generated by a B-spline. Finally, for frames generated by any compactly supported function φ whose integer-translates form a partition of unity, e.g., a B-spline, we construct a class of dual frame generators, formed by linear combinations of translates of φ. This allows us to chose a dual generator with special properties, for example, the one with shortest support, or a symmetric one in case the frame itself is generated by a symmetric function. One of these dual generators has the property of being constant on the support of the frame generator.  相似文献

Certain mathematical objects appear in a lot of scientific disciplines, like physics, signal processing and, naturally, mathematics. In a general setting they can be described as frame multipliers, consisting of analysis, multiplication by a fixed sequence (called the symbol), and synthesis. In this paper we show a surprising result about the inverse of such operators, if any, as well as new results about a core concept of frame theory, dual frames. We show that for semi-normalized symbols, the inverse of any invertible frame multiplier can always be represented as a frame multiplier with the reciprocal symbol and dual frames of the given ones. Furthermore, one of those dual frames is uniquely determined and the other one can be arbitrarily chosen. We investigate sufficient conditions for the special case, when both dual frames can be chosen to be the canonical duals. In connection to the above, we show that the set of dual frames determines a frame uniquely. Furthermore, for a given frame, the union of all coefficients of its dual frames is dense in ?2?2. We also introduce a class of frames (called pseudo-coherent frames), which includes Gabor frames and coherent frames, and investigate invertible pseudo-coherent frame multipliers, allowing a classification for frame-type operators for these frames. Finally, we give a numerical example for the invertibility of multipliers in the Gabor case.  相似文献

Finding general and verifiable conditions which imply that Gabor systems are (resp. cannot be) Gabor frames is among the core problems in Gabor analysis. In their paper on atomic decompositions for coorbit spaces [H.G. Feichtinger and K. Gröchenig, Banach spaces related to integrable group representations, and their atomic decomposition, I, J. Funct. Anal. 86 (1989), 307–340], the authors proved that every Gabor system generated with a relatively uniformly discrete and sufficiently dense time-frequency sequence will allow series expansions for a large class of Banach spaces if the window function is nice enough. In particular, such a Gabor system is a frame for the Hilbert space of square integrable functions. However, their proof is based on abstract analysis and does not give direct information on how to determine the density in the sense of directly applicable estimates. It is the goal of this paper to present a constructive version of the proof and to provide quantitative results. Specifically, we give a criterion for the general case and explicit density for some cases. We also study the existence of Gabor frames and show that there is some smooth window function such that the corresponding Gabor system is incomplete for arbitrary time-frequency lattices.  相似文献

Sparsity-driven image recovery methods assume that images of interest can be sparsely approximated under some suitable system. As discontinuities of 2D images often show geometrical regularities along image edges with different orientations, an effective sparsifying system should have high orientation selectivity. There have been enduring efforts on constructing discrete frames and tight frames for improving the orientation selectivity of tensor product real-valued wavelet bases/frames. In this paper, we studied the general theory of discrete Gabor frames for finite signals, and constructed a class of discrete 2D Gabor frames with optimal orientation selectivity for sparse image approximation. Besides high orientation selectivity, the proposed multi-scale discrete 2D Gabor frames also allow us to simultaneously exploit sparsity prior of cartoon image regions in spatial domain and the sparsity prior of textural image regions in local frequency domain. Using a composite sparse image model, we showed the advantages of the proposed discrete Gabor frames over the existing wavelet frames in several image recovery experiments.  相似文献

This work develops a quantitative framework for describing the overcompleteness of a large class of frames. A previous article introduced notions of localization and approximation between two frames F = {fi}i∈I and E = {ej}j∈G (G a discrete abelian group), relating the decay of the expansion of the elements of F in terms of the elements of E via a map a : I → G. This article shows that those abstract results yield an array of new implications for irregular Gabor frames. Additionally, various Nyquist density results for Gabor frames are recovered as special cases, and in the process both their meaning and implications are clarified. New results are obtained on the excess and overcompleteness of Gabor frames, on the relationship between frame bounds and density, and on the structure of the dual frame of an irregular Gabor frame. More generally, these results apply both to Gabor frames and to systems of Gabor molecules, whose elements share only a common envelope of concentration in the time-frequency plane. The notions of localization and related approximation properties are a spectrum of ideas that quantify the degree to which elements of one frame can be approximated by elements of another frame. In this article, a comprehensive examination of the interrelations among these localization and approximation concepts is made, with most implications shown to be sharp.  相似文献

Due to its potential applications in multiplexing techniques, the study of superframes has interested some researchers. This paper addresses dual super wavelet and Gabor frames in the subspace setting. We obtain a basic-equation characterization for subspace dual super wavelet and Gabor frames. In addition, applying this characterization, we derive a procedure that allows for constructing subspace dual super wavelet frames based on certain subspace dual super Gabor frames, and vice versa. Our results are new even in L2(R;C L ) setting.  相似文献

Generalized shift-invariant (GSI) systems, originally introduced by Hernández et al. and Ron and Shen, provide a common frame work for analysis of Gabor systems, wavelet systems, wave packet systems, and other types of structured function systems. In this paper we analyze three important aspects of such systems. First, in contrast to the known cases of Gabor frames and wavelet frames, we show that for a GSI system forming a frame, the Calderón sum is not necessarily bounded by the lower frame bound. We identify a technical condition implying that the Calderón sum is bounded by the lower frame bound and show that under a weak assumption the condition is equivalent with the local integrability condition introduced by Hernández et al. Second, we provide explicit and general constructions of frames and dual pairs of frames having the GSI-structure. In particular, the setup applies to wave packet systems and in contrast to the constructions in the literature, these constructions are not based on characteristic functions in the Fourier domain. Third, our results provide insight into the local integrability condition (LIC).  相似文献

In this paper we give sufficient conditions for irregular Gabor systems to be frames. We show that for a large class of window functions, every relatively uniformly discrete sequence in with sufficiently high density will generate a Gabor frame. Explicit frame bounds are given. We also study the stability of irregular Gabor frames and show that every Gabor frame with arbitrary time-frequency parameters is stable if the window function is nice enough. Explicit stability bounds are given.

We introduce a new concept to describe the localization of frames. In our main result we show that the frame operator preserves this localization and that the dual frame possesses the same localization property. As an application we show that certain frames for Hilbert spaces extend automatically to Banach frames. Using this abstract theory, we derive new results on the construction of nonuniform Gabor frames and solve a problem about non-uniform sampling in shift-invariant spaces.  相似文献
