It is shown that a mixed Ricci-flat twisted product semi-Riemannian manifold can be expressed as a warped product semi-Riemannian manifold. In this paper, we introduce horizontal and vertical warped product Finsler manifolds. We prove that every C-reducible or proper Berwaldian doubly warped product Finsler manifold is Riemannian. Then, we find the relation between Riemannian curvatures of doubly warped product Finsler manifold and its components, and consider the cases that this manifold is flat or has scalar flag curvature. We define the doubly warped Sasaki-Matsumoto metric for warped product manifolds and find a condition under which the horizontal and vertical tangent bundles are totally geodesic. We obtain some conditions under which a foliated manifold reduces to a Reinhart manifold. Finally, we study an almost complex structure on the tangent bundle of a doubly warped product Finsler manifold.  相似文献

In this paper, the vertical and horizontal distributions of an invariant submanifold of a Riemannian product manifold are discussed. An invariant real space form in a Riemannian product manifold is researched. Finally, necessary and sufficient conditions are given on an invariant submanifold of a Riemannian product manifold to be a locally symmetric and real space form.  相似文献

We characterize the almost product and locally product structures of general natural lift type on the cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold. We find the conditions under which the cotangent bundle endowed with the constructed almost product (locally product) structure and with a pseudo-Riemannian metric obtained as a general natural lift of the metric from the base manifold, is a Riemannian almost product (locally product) or an (almost) para-Hermitian manifold. Finally, by studying the closedness of the 2-form associated to the obtained (almost) para-Hermitian structure, we characterize the general natural (almost) para-Kählerian structures on the cotangent bundle.  相似文献

A complex product structure on a manifold is an appropriate combination of a complex structure and a product structure. The existence of such a structure determines many interesting properties of the underlying manifold, notably that the manifold admits a pair of complementary foliations whose leaves carry affine structures. This is due to the existence of a unique torsion-free connection which preserves both the complex and the product structure; this connection is not necessarily flat. We study the existence of complex product structures on tangent bundles of smooth manifolds, and we investigate the structure of manifolds admitting a complex product structure and a compatible hypersymplectic metric, showing that the foliations mentioned earlier are either symplectic or Lagrangian, depending on the symplectic form under consideration.  相似文献

In this article, the geometry of the slant submanifolds of a Riemannian product manifold is studied. Some necessary and sufficient conditions on slant, bi-slant and semi-slant submanifolds are given. We show a geometric rigidity of isometric actions of non-compact (semisimple) Lie groups on Lorentz manifolds. Namely, we show that the manifold has a warped product structure of a Lorentz manifold with constant curvature by a Riemannian manifold.

We prove that a nearly Kenmotsu manifold is locally isometric to the warped product of a real line and a nearly Kähler manifold. As consequence, a normal nearly Kenmotsu manifold is Kenmotsu. Furthermore, we show that there do not exist nearly Kenmotsu hypersurfaces of nearly Kähler manifolds.

C. H. Taubes asked whether a closed (i.e. compact and without boundary) connected oriented three-dimensional manifold whose product with a circle admits a symplectic structure must fiber over a circle. An affirmative answer to Taubes' question would imply that any such manifold either is diffeomorphic to the product of a two-sphere with a circle or is irreducible and aspherical. In this paper, we prove that this implication holds up to connect sum with a manifold which admits no proper covering spaces with finite index. It is pointed out that Thurston's geometrization conjecture and known results in the theory of three-dimensional manifolds imply that such a manifold is a three-dimensional sphere. Hence, modulo the present conjectural picture of three-dimensional manifolds, we have shown that the stated consequence of an affirmative answer to Taubes' question holds.

Summary Let M be a compact orientable Riemannian manifold of dimension even. We assume that the manifold can carry a metric, which is positively k-pinked. In the present paper some properties of the second cohomology group of such a manifold are obtained, when the number k is greater than a number which depends on the dimension of the manifold. We continue our study of the space of geodesics of a manifold with linear connection. We obtain sufficient conditions for a product to have a space of geodesics which is a manifold. We investigate the relationship of the space of geodesics of a covering manifold to that of the base space. We obtain sufficient conditions for a space to be geodesically connected in terms of the topology of its space of geodesics.  相似文献

We prove that the universal covering of a complete locally symmetric normal metric contact pair manifold with decomposable ? is a Calabi‐Eckmann manifold or the Riemannian product of a sphere and . We show that a complete, simply connected, normal metric contact pair manifold with decomposable ?, such that the foliation induced by the vertical subbundle is regular and reflections in the integral submanifolds of the vertical subbundle are isometries, is the product of globally ?‐symmetric spaces or the product of a globally ?‐symmetric space and . A Riemannian manifold is called geometrically formal if the wedge product of harmonic forms is again harmonic, which implies in the compact case that the manifold is topologically formal in the sense of rational homotopy theory. A manifold admitting a Riemannian metric of positive sectional curvature is conjectured to be topologically formal. Nonetheless, we show that among the homogeneous Riemannian metrics of positive sectional curvature a geometrically formal metric is either symmetric, or a metric on a rational homology sphere.  相似文献

We consider compact symplectic manifolds acted on effectively by a compact connected Lie group K in a Hamiltonian fashion. We prove that the squared moment map ∥μ∥2 is constant if and only if K is semisimple and the manifold is K-equivariantly symplectomorphic to a product of a flag manifold and a compact symplectic manifold which is acted on trivially by K. In the almost-Kähler setting the symplectomorphism turns out to be an isometry.  相似文献
