In this paper we examine a nonlinear elliptic problem driven by the p-Laplacian differential operator and with a potential function which is only locally Lipschitz, not necessarily C1 (hemivariational inequality). Using the nonsmooth critical point theory of Chang, we obtain two strictly positive solutions. One solution is obtained by minimization of a suitable modification of the energy functional. The second solution is obtained by generalizing a result of Brezis-Nirenberg about the local C10-minimizers versus the local H10-minimizers of a C1-functional. In this paper we consider two nonlinear elliptic problems driven by the p-Laplacian and having a nonsmooth potential (hemivariational inequalities). The first is an eigenvalue problem and we prove that if the parameter λ < λ2 = the second eigenvalue of the p-Laplacian, then there exists a nontrivial smooth solution. The second problem is resonant both near zero and near infinity for the principal eigenvalue of the p-Laplacian. For this problem we prove a multiplicity result. Our approach is variational based on the nonsmooth critical point theory. Second author is Corresponding author.  相似文献

In this paper we consider a nonlinear Neumann problem driven by the pp-Laplacian with a nonsmooth potential (hemivariational inequality). Using minimax methods based on the nonsmooth critical point theory together with suitable truncation techniques, we show that the problem has at least three nontrivial smooth solutions. Two of these solutions have constant sign (one is positive, the other negative).  相似文献

In this paper we consider a nonlinear eigenvalue problem driven by the pp-Laplacian differential operator and with a nonsmooth potential. Using degree theoretic arguments based on the degree map for certain operators of monotone type, we show that the problem has at least two nontrivial positive solutions as the parameter λ>0λ>0 varies in a half-line.  相似文献

This work treats Lp regularity theory for weak solutions of parabolic equations in divergence form with discontinuous coefficients on nonsmooth domains. We essentially obtain an optimal condition on the coefficients under which the global W1,p regularity theory holds. This work was supported by SNU foundation in 2005.  相似文献

Making use of a proper transformation and a generalized ansatz, we consider a new generalized Hamiltonian amplitude equation with nonlinear terms of any order, iux + utt + (|u|p + |u|2p)u + uxt = 0. As a result, many explicit exact solutions, which include kink-shaped soliton solutions, bell-shaped soliton solutions, periodic wave solutions, the combined formal solitary wave solutions and rational solutions, are obtained.Received: April 4, 2002  相似文献

The structure of positive boundary blow-up solutions to quasi-linear elliptic problems of the form −Δpu=λf(u), u=∞ on ∂Ω, 1<p<∞, is studied in a bounded smooth domain , for a class of nonlinearities fC1((0,∞)?{z2})∩C0[0,∞) satisfying f(0)=f(z1)=f(z2)=0 with 0<z1<z2, f<0 in (0,z1)∪(z2,∞), f>0 in (z1,z2). Large, small and intermediate solutions are obtained for λ sufficiently large. It is known from Part I (see Structure of boundary blow-up solutions for quasilinear elliptic problems, part (I): large and small solutions, preprint), that the large solution is the unique large solution to the problem. We will see that the small solution is also the unique small solution to the problem while there are infinitely many intermediate solutions. Our results are new even for the case p=2.  相似文献

For continuous positive solutions of the equation withp>(n+1)/2) in a half-space + n+1 the criterion is proved for existence of finite or infinite normal limit values at a given boundary point.  相似文献

We study the nonlinear Schröodinger equation with critical exponent 2*= 2 N/( N-2), N 4, where a 0, has a potential well. Using variational methods we establish existence and multiplicity of positive solutions which localize near the potential well for small and large.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to prove some stability result for nonlinear elliptic systems of the form where Δp denotes the p-Laplacian operator defined by Δpz = div(|∇ z|p-2z); p > 2, Ω is a bounded domain in RN (N > 1) with smooth boundary where with h = 1 when α = 1, λ is a positive parameter and f,g are C2 functin on [0,∞) × [0,∞). We prove stability and instability results of positive stationary solutions under various choices of f and g.  相似文献

We deal with positive solutions of Δu = a(x)u p in a bounded smooth domain subject to the boundary condition ∂u/∂v = λu, λ a parameter, p > 1. We prove that this problem has a unique positive solution if and only if 0 < λ < σ1 where, roughly speaking, σ1 is finite if and only if |∂Ω ∩ {a = 0}| > 0 and coincides with the first eigenvalue of an associated eigenvalue problem. Moreover, we find the limit profile of the solution as λ → σ1. Supported by DGES and FEDER under grant BFM2001-3894 (J. García-Melián and J. Sabina) and ANPCyT PICT No. 03-05009 (J. D. Rossi). J.D. We show that for ε small, there are arbitrarily many nodal solutions for the following nonlinear elliptic Neumann problem where Ω is a bounded and smooth domain in ℝ2 and f grows superlinearly. (A typical f(u) is f(u)= a1 u+pa1 u-p, a1, a2 >0, p, q>1.) More precisely, for any positive integer K, there exists εK>0 such that for 0<ε<εK, the above problem has a nodal solution with K positive local maximum points and K negative local minimum points. This solution has at least K+1 nodal domains. The locations of the maximum and minimum points are related to the mean curvature on ∂Ω. The solutions are constructed as critical points of some finite dimensional reduced energy functional. No assumption on the symmetry, nor the geometry, nor the topology of the domain is needed.  相似文献

We show that W 2,p weak solutions of the k-Hessian equation F k (D 2 u) = g(x) with k≥ 2 can be approximated by smooth k-convex solutions v j of similar equations with the right hands sides controlled uniformly in C 0,1 norm, and so that the quantities are bounded independently of j. This result simplifies the proof of previous interior regularity results for solutions of such equations. It also permits us to extend certain estimates for smooth solutions of degenerate two dimensional Monge–Ampère equations to W 2,p solutions. In this work we consider the behaviour for large values of p of the unique positive weak solution u p to Δ p u = u q in Ω, u = +∞ on , where q > p − 1. We take q = q(p) and analyze the limit of u p as p → ∞. We find that when q(p)/pQ the behaviour strongly depends on Q. If 1 < Q < ∞ then solutions converge uniformly in compacts to a viscosity solution of with u = +∞ on . If Q = 1 then solutions go to ∞ in the whole Ω and when Q = ∞ solutions converge to 1 uniformly in compact subsets of Ω, hence the boundary blow-up is lost in the limit.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a nonlinear elliptic problem at resonance driven by the p-Laplacian and with a nonsmooth potential (hemivariational inequality). Our approach is variational and it is based on the nonsmooth critical point theory for locally Lipschitz functions due to Chang. We prove a theorem guaranteeing the existence of one solution which is smooth and strictly positive. Then by strengthening the assumptions, we establish a multiplicity result providing the existence of at least two distinct solutions. Our hypotheses permit resonance and asymmetric behavior at +∞ and −∞. As a byproduct of our analysis we obtain an nonlinear and nonsmooth generalization of a result of Brézis–Nirenberg about H01 versus C01 minimizers of a smooth functional.  相似文献

We propose a new method for showing C 1, α regularity for solutions of the infinity Laplacian equation and provide full details of the proof in two dimensions. The proof for dimensions n ≥ 3 depends upon some conjectured local gradient estimates for solutions of certain transformed PDE. LCE is supported in part by NSF Grant DMS-0500452. The third problem for the Laplace equation is studied on an open set with Lipschitz boundary. The boundary condition is in Lp and it is fulfilled in the sense of the nontangential limit. The existence and the uniqueness of a solution is proved and the solution is expressed in the form of a single layer potential. For domains with C1 boundary the explicit solution of the problem is calculated.  相似文献

We study the regularity of the two-phase membrane problem, with coefficients below the Lipschitz threshold. For the Lipschitz coefficient case one can apply a monotonicity formula to prove the C1,1C1,1-regularity of the solution and that the free boundary is, near the so-called branching points, the union of two C1C1-graphs. In our case, the same monotonicity formula does not apply in the same way. In the absence of a monotonicity formula, we use a specific scaling argument combined with the classification of certain global solutions to obtain C1,1C1,1-estimates. Then we exploit some stability properties with respect to the coefficients to prove that the free boundary is the union of two Reifenberg vanishing sets near so-called branching points.  相似文献

This paper concerns semilinear elliptic equations of the form – u+m(x)u=a(x)u p , wherea changes sign. We discuss the question of existence of positive solutions when the linear part is not coercive. This article was processed by the author using the LATEX style file pljourlm from Springer-Verlag.  相似文献

In this article, we prove that there are three positive solutions of a semilinear elliptic equation in a bounded symmetric domain t for large t>0 in which one is axially symmetric and the other two are nonaxially symmetric. Main tools are the Palais-Smale theory.  相似文献
