A note on nil power serieswise Armendariz rings   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A ring R is called nil power serieswise Armendariz if $ \forall f = \sum\limits_{i = 0}^\infty {a_i X^i } $ \forall f = \sum\limits_{i = 0}^\infty {a_i X^i } and $ g = \sum\limits_{i = 0}^\infty {b_i X^i } $ g = \sum\limits_{i = 0}^\infty {b_i X^i } in R[[X]] such that f gNil(R)[[X]], then a i b j Nil(R) for all i and j. In this note we characterize completely nil power serieswise Armendariz rings with their nilradical Nil(R) (where the nilradical is the set of nilpotent elements). We prove that a ring is nil power serieswise Armendariz if and only if Nil(R) is an ideal of R. We prove that each power serieswise Armendariz ring is nil power serieswise Armendariz and we give examples of nil power serieswise Armendariz rings.  相似文献

A ring R is called an M-quasi-Armendariz ring (a quasi-Armendariz ring relative to a monoid M) if whenever elements α = a 1 g 1 + a 2 g 2 + ··· + a n g n , β = b 1 h 1 + b 2 h 2 + ··· + b m h m  ? R[M] satisfy α R[M]β = 0, then a i Rb j  = 0 for each i, j. After discussing some basic properties of M-quasi-Armendariz rings, we consider the influence of transformation of the monoid M and the ring R on this property. Particularly, we give some sufficient conditions for the monoids M, N, and the ring R under which R is M × N-quasi-Armendariz if and only if R is M-quasi-Armendariz and N-quasi-Armendariz.  相似文献

The content of a polynomial f over a commutative ring R is the ideal c(f) of R generated by the coefficients of f. A commutative ring R is said to be Gaussian if c(fg) = c(f)c(g) for every polynomials f and g in R[X]. A number of authors have formulated necessary and sufficient conditions for R(X) (respectively, R?X?) to be semihereditary, have weak global dimension at most one, be arithmetical, or be Prüfer. An open question raised by Glaz is to formulate necessary and sufficient conditions that R(X) (respectively, R?X?) have the Gaussian property. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the rings R(X) and R?X? in terms of the ring R in case the square of the nilradical of R is zero.  相似文献

We introduce weak Armendariz rings which are a generalization of semicommutative rings and Armendariz rings, and investigate their properties. Moreover, we prove that a ring R is weak Armendariz if and only if for any n, the n-by-n upper triangular matrix ring T n (R) is weak Armendariz. If R is semicommutative, then it is proven that the polynomial ring R[x] over R and the ring R[x]/(x n ), where (x n ) is the ideal generated by x n and n is a positive integer, are weak Armendariz.  相似文献

Let M be a left R-module. Then M is a McCoy (resp., dual McCoy) module if for nonzero f(X)∈R[X] and m(X)∈M[X], f(X)m(X) = 0 implies there exists a nonzero rR (resp., mM) with rm(X) = 0 (resp., f(X)m = 0). We show that for R commutative every R-module is dual McCoy, but give an example of a non-McCoy module. A number of other results concerning (dual) McCoy modules as well as arithmetical, Gaussian, and Armendariz modules are given.  相似文献

Abstract

Recall that an integral domain R is said to be a non-D-ring if there exists a non-constant polynomial f (X) in R[X] (called a uv-polynomial) such that f (a) is a unit of R for every a in R. In this note we generalize this notion to commutative rings (that are not necessarily integral domains) as follows: for a positive integer n, we say that R is an n-non-D-ring if there exists a polynomial f of degree n in R[X] such that f (a) is a unit of R for every a in R. We then investigate the properties of this notion in di?erent contexts of commutative rings.  相似文献

In this note we continue to study zero divisors in power series rings and polynomial rings over general noncommutative rings. We first construct Armendariz rings which are not power-serieswise Armendariz, and find various properties of (power-serieswise) Armendariz rings. We show that for a semiprime power-serieswise Armendariz (so reduced) ring R with a.c.c. on annihilator ideals, R[[x]] (the power series ring with an indeterminate x over R) has finitely many minimal prime ideals, say B 1,…,B m , such that B 1B m  = 0 and B i  = A i [[x]] for some minimal prime ideal A i of R for all i, where A 1,…,A m are all minimal prime ideals of R. We also prove that the power-serieswise Armendarizness is preserved by the polynomial ring extension as the Armendarizness, and construct various types of (power-serieswise) Armendariz rings.  相似文献

Gilmer and Heinzer proved that given a reduced ring R, a polynomial f divides a monic polynomial in R[X] if and only if there exists a direct sum decomposition of R = R0 ⊕ … ⊕ Rm (m ≤ deg f), associated to a fundamental system of idempotents e0, … , em, such that the component of f in each Ri[X] has degree coefficient which is a unit of Ri. We propose to give an algorithm to explicitly find such a decomposition. Moreover, we extend this result to divisors of doubly monic Laurent polynomials.  相似文献

In this paper, we are interested to study zero-divisor properties of a 0-symmetric nearring of polynomials R0[x], when R is a commutative ring. We show that for a reduced ring R, the set of all zero-divisors of R0[x], namely Z(R0[x]), is an ideal of R0[x] if and only if Z(R) is an ideal of R and R has Property (A). For a non-reduced ring R, it is shown that Z(R0[x]) is an ideal of Z(R0[x]) if and only if annR({a, b}) ∩ N i?(R) ≠ 0, for each a, bZ(R). We also investigate the interplay between the algebraic properties of a 0-symmetric nearring of polynomials R0[x] and the graph-theoretic properties of its zero-divisor graph. The undirected zero-divisor graph of R0[x] is the graph Γ(R0[x]) such that the vertices of Γ(R0[x]) are all the non-zero zero-divisors of R0[x] and two distinct vertices f and g are connected by an edge if and only if f ? g = 0 or g ? f = 0. Among other results, we give a complete characterization of the possible diameters of Γ(R0[x]) in terms of the ideals of R. These results are somewhat surprising since, in contrast to the polynomial ring case, the near-ring of polynomials has substitution for its “multiplication” operation.  相似文献

Let {X(t): t [a, b]} be a Gaussian process with mean μ L2[a, b] and continuous covariance K(s, t). When estimating μ under the loss ∫ab ( (t)−μ(t))2 dt the natural estimator X is admissible if K is unknown. If K is known, X is minimax with risk ∫ab K(t, t) dt and admissible if and only if the three by three matrix whose entries are K(ti, tj) has a determinant which vanishes identically in ti [a, b], i = 1, 2, 3.  相似文献

Let α be an endomorphism and δ an α-derivation of a ring R. We introduce the notion of skew-Armendariz rings which are a generalization of α-skew Armendariz rings and α-rigid rings and extend the classes of non reduced skew-Armendariz rings. Some properties of this generalization are established, and connections of properties of a skew-Armendariz ring R with those of the Ore extension R[x; α, δ] are investigated. As a consequence we extend and unify several known results related to Armendariz rings.  相似文献

We prove the following results: (1) Let R ? S be two commutative rings. Suppose that dim R = 0.If f(X) ∈ S[[X]]is integral over R[[X]], then every coefficient of f(X) is integral over R. (2) Let dim R ≥ 1. There exists a ring S containing R and a power series f(X) ∈ S[[X]]such that f(X) is integral over R[[X]], but not all coefficients of f(X) are integral over R. (3) Let k ? R. Suppose that R is algebraic over the field k. Then R[[X]] is integral over k[[X]] if and only if the nilradical of R is nilpotent and the separable degree and the inseparable exponent of R red over k are finite.  相似文献

Let R be a (mixed characteristic) Artinian local ring of length l and let X be an n-tuple of variables. We prove that several algebraic constructions in the ring R[X] admit uniform bounds on the degrees of their output in terms of l, n and the degrees of the input. For instance, if I is an ideal in R[X] generated by polynomials g i of degree at most d and if f is a polynomial of degree at most d belonging to I, then f = q 1 f 1 + ··· + q s f s , for some q i of degree bounded in terms of d, l and n only. Similarly, the module of syzygies of I is generated by tuples all of whose entries have degree bounded in terms of d, l and n only.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Let k be a field, R an associative k-algebra with identity, Δ a finite set of derivations of R, and R1, δ1] ··· [Θ n , δ n ] an iterated differential operator k-algebra over R such that δ j i ) ∈ R1, δ1] ··· [Θ i?1, δ i?1]; 1 ≤ i < j ≤ n. If R is Noetherian Δ-hypercentral, then every prime ideal P of A is classically localizable. The aim of this article is to show that under some additional hypotheses on the Δ-prime ideals of R, the local ring A P is regular in the sense of Robert Walker. We use this result to study the catenarity of A and to compute the numbers μ i of Bass. Let g be a nilpotent Lie algebra of finite dimension n acting on R by derivations and U(g) the enveloping algebra of g. Then the crossed product of R by U(g) is an iterated differential operator k-algebra as above. In this particular case, our results are known if k has characteristic zero.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Let R be a prime ring with a nonzero derivation d and let f(X 1,…,X t ) be a multilinear polynomial over C, the extended centroid of R. Suppose that b[d(f(x 1,…,x t )), f(x 1,…,x t )] n  = 0 for all x i  ∈ R, where 0 ≠ b ∈ R and n is a fixed positive integer. Then f(X 1,…,X t ) is centrally valued on R unless char R = 2 and dim C RC = 4. We prove a more generalized version by replacing R with a left ideal.  相似文献

Proving primeness of an idealI=〈f 1, …,f m〉 in a polynomial ringR=K[X 1, …,X n]ofn indeterminates over an algebraically closed fieldK is a difficult task in general. Although there are straightforward algorithms that decide whetherI is prime or not, they are prohibitively lengthy if the number of indeterminates or the degrees of thef iare large. In this paper we will give an easy criterion for the primeness ofI if thef iare polynomials with separated variables, i.e. no mixed monomials occur in thef i. The work on this paper was done while the author was a MINERVA fellow at Tel Aviv University.  相似文献

For an endomorphism α of a ring R, we introduce the notion of an α-Armendariz ring to investigate the relative Armendariz properties. This concept extends the class of Armendariz rings and gives us an opportunity to study Armendariz rings in a general setting. It is obvious that every Armendariz ring is an α-Armendariz ring, but we shall give an example to show that there exists a right α-Armendariz ring which is not Armendariz. A number of properties of this version are established. It is shown that if I is a reduced ideal of a ring R such that R/I is a right α-Armendariz ring, then R is right α-Armendariz. For an endomorphism α of a ring R, we show that R is right α-Armendariz if and only if R[x] is right α-Armendariz. Moreover, a weak form of α-Armendariz rings is considered in the last section. We show that in general weak α-Armendariz rings need not be α-Armendariz.  相似文献
