A ring R is called left GP-injective if for any 0 ≠ a ∈ R, there exists n > 0 such that a n  ≠ 0 and a n R = r(l(a n )). It is proved that (1) every right Noetherian left GP-injective ring such that every complement left ideal is a left annihilator is a QF ring, (2) every left GP-injective ring with ACC on left annihilators such that every complement left ideal is a left annihilator is a QF ring, and (3) every left P-injective left CS ring satisfying ACC on essential right ideals is a QF ring. Several well-known results on QF rings are obtained as corollaries.  相似文献

Abstract

A ring R is called left IP-injective if every homomorphism from a left ideal of R into R with principal image is given by right multiplication by an element of R. It is shown that R is left IP-injective if and only if R is left P-injective and left GIN (i.e., r(I ∩ K) = r(I) + r(K) for each pair of left ideals I and K of R with I principal). We prove that R is QF if and only if R is right noetherian and left IP-injective if and only if R is left perfect, left GIN and right simple-injective. We also show that, for a right CF left GIN-ring R, R is QF if and only if Soc(R R ) ? Soc( R R). Two examples are given to show that an IP-injective ring need not be self-injective and a right IP-injective ring is not necessarily left IP-injective respectively.  相似文献

Let R be a ring. R is left coherent if each of its finitely generated left ideals is finitely presented. R is called left generalized morphic if for every element a in R, l(a) = Rb for some b ∈ R, where l(a) denotes the left annihilator of a in R. The main aim of this article is to investigate the coherence and the generalized morphic property of the upper triangular matrix ring T n (R) (n ≥ 1). It is shown that R is left coherent if and only if T n (R) is left coherent for each n ≥ 1 if and only if T n (R) is left coherent for some n ≥ 1. And an equivalent condition is obtained for T n (R) to be left generalized morphic. Moreover, it is proved that R is left coherent and left Bézout if and only if T n (R) is left generalized morphic for each n ≥ 1.  相似文献

In this article, we call a ring R right generalized semiregular if for any a ∈ R there exist two left ideals P, L of R such that lr(a) = PL, where P ? Ra and Ra ∩ L is small in R. The class of generalized semiregular rings contains all semiregular rings and all AP-injective rings. Some properties of these rings are studied and some results about semiregular rings and AP-injective rings are extended. In addition, we call a ring R semi-π-regular if for any a ∈ R there exist a positive integer n and e 2 = e ∈ a n R such that (1 ? e)a n  ∈ J(R), the Jacobson radical of R. It is shown that a ring R is semi-π-regular if and only if R/J(R) is π-regular and idempotents can be lifted modulo J(R).  相似文献

Abstract

Let R be a ring with identity such that R +, the additive group of R, is torsion-free of finite rank (tffr). The ring R is called an E-ring if End(R +) = {x ? ax : a ∈ R} and is called an A-ring if Aut(R +) = {x ? ux : u ∈ U(R)}, where U(R) is the group of units of R. While E-rings have been studied for decades, the notion of A-rings was introduced only recently. We now introduce a weaker notion. The ring R, 1 ∈ R, is called an AA-ring if for each α ∈ Aut(R +) there is some natural number n such that α n  ∈ {x ? ux : u ∈ U(R)}. We will find all tffr AA-rings with nilradical N(R) ≠ {0} and show that all tffr AA-rings with N(R) = {0} are actually E-rings. As a consequence of our results on AA-rings, we are able to prove that all tffr A-rings are indeed E-rings.  相似文献

A ring R is called “left generalized morphic” if for every element a in R, there exists b ∈ R such that l(a)? R/Rb, where l(a) denotes the left annihilator of a in R. The aim of this article is to investigate these rings. Several examples are given. They include left morphic rings and left p.p. rings. An element a of a ring R is called J-quasipolar if there exists p 2 = p ∈ R satisfying p ∈ comm2(a) and a + p ∈ J(R); R is called J-quasipolar in case each of its elements is J-quasipolar. The class of this sort of rings lies properly between the class of uniquely clean rings and the class of quasipolar rings. In particular, every J-quasipolar element in a ring is quasipolar. It is shown, in this paper, that a ring R is J-quasipolar iff R/J(R) is boolean and R is quasipolar. For a local ring R, we prove that every n × n upper triangular matrix ring over R is J-quasipolar iff R is uniquely bleached and R/J(R) ? ?2. Moreover, it is proved that any matrix ring of size greater than 1 is never J-quasipolar. Consequently, we determine when a 2 × 2 matrix over a commutative local ring is J-quasipolar. A criterion in terms of solvability of the characteristic equation is obtained for such a matrix to be J-quasipolar.  相似文献

Let R be a ring with identity 1, I(R) be the set of all nonunit idempotents in R, and M(R) be the set of all primitive idempotents and 0 of R. We say that I(R) is additive if for all e, f ∈ I(R) (e ≠ f), e + f ∈ I(R), and M(R) is additive in I(R) if for all e, f ∈ M(R)(e ≠ f), e + f ∈ I(R). In this article, the following points are shown: (1) I(R) is additive if and only if I(R) is multiplicative and the characteristic of R is 2; M(R) is additive in I(R) if and only if M(R) is orthogonal. If 0 ≠ ef ∈ I(R) for some e ∈ M(R) and f ∈ I(R), then ef ∈ M(R), (2) If R has a complete set of primitive idempotents, then R is a finite product of connected rings if and only if I(R) is multiplicative if and only if M(R) is additive in I(R).  相似文献

A ring R is quasipolar if for any a ∈ R, there exists p 2 = p ∈ R such that p ∈ comm2(a), p + a ∈ U(R) and ap ∈ R qnil . In this article, we determine when a 2 × 2 matrix over a commutative local ring is quasipolar. A criterion in terms of solvability of the characteristic equation is obtained for such a matrix to be quasipolar. Consequently, we obtain several equivalent conditions for the 2 × 2 matrix ring over a commutative local ring to be quasipolar. Furthermore, it is shown that the 2 × 2 matrix ring over the ring of p-adic integers is quasipolar.  相似文献

In this article, we study the properties of the weak Zariski topology on and the relationships among various ring-theoretic properties and topological conditions on it. Then the following results are obtained for any ring R: (1) R is right quasi-duo ring if and only if is a space with Zariski topology if and only if, for any Q ? , Q is irreducible as a right ideal in R. (2) For any clopen (i.e., closed and open) set U in ? = Max r (R) ∪  Prim r (R) (resp.  = Prim r (R)) there is an element e in R with e 2 ? e ? J(R) such that U = U r (eR) ∩  ? (resp. U = U r (eR) ∩  ), where J(R) is the Jacobson of R. (3) Max r (R) ∪  Prim r (R) is connected if and only if Max l (R) ∪  Prim l (R) is connected if and only if Prim r (R) is connected.  相似文献

Now Z(M) = {r ∈ R | rm = 0 for some 0 ≠ m ∈ M} is a union of prime ideals of R and T(M) = {m ∈ M | rm = 0 for some 0 ≠ r ∈ R} is a union of prime submodules of M if M ≠ T(M). The left quotient ring (i.e., the left classical ring of fractions) Qcl(R) of a ring R does not always exist and still, in general, there is no good understanding of the reason why this happens. In this article, existence of the largest left quotient ring Ql(R) of an arbitrary ring R is proved, i.e., Ql(R) = S0(R)?1R where S0(R) is the largest left regular denominator set of R. It is proved that Ql(Ql(R)) = Ql(R); the ring Ql(R) is semisimple iff Qcl(R) exists and is semisimple; moreover, if the ring Ql(R) is left Artinian, then Qcl(R) exists and Ql(R) = Qcl(R). The group of units Ql(R)* of Ql(R) is equal to the set {s?1t | s, t ∈ S0(R)} and S0(R) = RQl(R)*. If there exists a finitely generated flat left R-module which is not projective, then Ql(R) is not a semisimple ring. We extend slightly Ore's method of localization to localizable left Ore sets, give a criterion of when a left Ore set is localizable, and prove that all left and right Ore sets of an arbitrary ring are localizable (not just denominator sets as in Ore's method of localization). Applications are given for certain classes of rings (semiprime Goldie rings, Noetherian commutative rings, the algebra of polynomial integro-differential operators).  相似文献

Based on a theorem of McCoy on commutative rings, Nielsen called a ring R right McCoy if, for any nonzero polynomials f(x), g(x) over R, f(x)g(x) = 0 implies f(x)r = 0 for some 0 ≠ r ? R. In this note, we consider a skew version of these rings, called σ-skew McCoy rings, with respect to a ring endomorphism σ. When σ is the identity endomorphism, this coincides with the notion of a right McCoy ring. Basic properties of σ-skew McCoy rings are observed, and some of the known results on right McCoy rings are obtained as corollaries.  相似文献

In this article, we study the weak global dimension of coherent rings in terms of the left FP-injective resolutions of modules. Let R be a left coherent ring and ? ? the class of all FP-injective left R-modules. It is shown that wD(R) ≤ n (n ≥ 1) if and only if every nth ? ?-syzygy of a left R-module is FP-injective; and wD(R) ≤ n (n ≥ 2) if and only if every (n ? 2)th ? ?-syzygy in a minimal ? ?-resolution of a left R-module has an FP-injective cover with the unique mapping property. Let R be a ring with identity, X(R) the set of all nonzero non-units of R and G(R) the group of all units of R. By considering left and right regular actions of G(R) on X(R), the following are investigated: (1) For a local ring R such that X(R) is a union of n distinct orbits under the left (or right) regular action of G(R) on X(R), if J n  ≠ 0 = J n+1 where J is the Jacobson radical of R, then the set of all the distinct ideals of R is exactly {R, J, J 2,…, J n , 0}, and each orbit under the left regular action is equal to the one under the right regular action. (2) Such a ring R is left (and right) duo ring. (3) For the full matrix ring S of n × n matrices over a commutative ring R, the number of orbits under left regular action of G(S) on X(S) is equal to the number of orbits under right regular action of G(S) on X(S); the result also holds for the ring of n × n upper triangular matrices over R.  相似文献

A regular ring R is separative provided that for all finitely generated projective right R-modules A and B, AA? AB? AB implies that A? B. We prove, in this article, that a regular ring R in which 2 is invertible is separative if and only if each a ∈ R satisfying R(1 ? a 2)R = Rr(a) = ?(a)R and i(End R (aR)) = ∞ is unit-regular if and only if each a ∈ R satisfying R(1 ? a 2)R ∩ RaR = Rr(a) ∩ ?(a)R ∩ RaR and i(End R (aR)) = ∞ is unit-regular. A ring R is called left P-coherent in case each principal left ideal of R is finitely presented. A left R-module M (resp. right R-module N) is called D-injective (resp. D-flat) if Ext1(G, M) = 0 (resp. Tor1(N, G) = 0) for every divisible left R-module G. It is shown that every left R-module over a left P-coherent ring R has a divisible cover; a left R-module M is D-injective if and only if M is the kernel of a divisible precover A → B with A injective; a finitely presented right R-module L over a left P-coherent ring R is D-flat if and only if L is the cokernel of a torsionfree preenvelope K → F with F flat. We also study the divisible and torsionfree dimensions of modules and rings. As applications, some new characterizations of von Neumann regular rings and PP rings are given.  相似文献
