We study uniformly elliptic fully nonlinear equations of the type F(D2u,Du,u,x)=f(x). We show that convex positively 1-homogeneous operators possess two principal eigenvalues and eigenfunctions, and study these objects; we obtain existence and uniqueness results for nonproper operators whose principal eigenvalues (in some cases, only one of them) are positive; finally, we obtain an existence result for nonproper Isaac's equations.  相似文献

In this paper we present a one dimensional and radial theory for the existence of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions for fully nonlinear elliptic (α+1)(α+1)-homogeneous operators, α>−1α>1. A general theory for the first eigenvalue and eigenfunction exists in the frame of viscosity solutions, but in this particular case a simpler theory can be established, that extends, via degree theory, to obtain the complete set of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions characterized by the number of zeros.  相似文献

We study the existence of positive radially symmetric solutions to a class of nonlinear elliptic problems involving extremal operators and nonlinearity of exponential or polynomial type. According to the values of a parameter, we describe situations where the equation has one, finitely many, infinitely many or no solutions, by using the geometry structure of phase plane.  相似文献

The behavior is investigated of the renormalized volume coefficients associated to a pseudo-Riemannian metric under conformal change of the metric. It is shown that the renormalized volume coefficients define second order fully nonlinear operators in the conformal factor whose algebraic structure is elucidated via the introduction of “extended obstruction tensors”. These together with the Schouten tensor constitute building blocks for the coefficients in the ambient metric expansion. The renormalized volume coefficients have recently been considered by Chang and Fang motivated by comparison with the elementary symmetric functions of the eigenvalues of the Schouten tensor.  相似文献

A new fixed point theorem for systems of nonlinear operator equations is established by means of topological degree theory and positively 1-homogeneous operator, where the components has a positively 1-homogeneous majorant or minorant. As applications, the existence of positive solutions for \((p_1, p_2)\)-Laplacian system is considered under some conditions concerning the positive eigenvalues corresponding to the relevant positively 1-homogeneous operators.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the validity and the consequences of the maximum principle for degenerate elliptic operators whose higher order term is the sum of k eigenvalues of the Hessian. In particular we shed some light on some very unusual phenomena due to the degeneracy of the operator. We prove moreover Lipschitz regularity results and boundary estimates under convexity assumptions on the domain. As a consequence we obtain the existence of solutions of the Dirichlet problem and of principal eigenfunctions.  相似文献

In this paper we establish various existence, nonexistence and multiplicity results for fully nonlinear Dirichlet problems associated to nonlocal Hamilton–Jacobi equations. This paper deals with nonlinear additive eigenvalue problems for viscous Hamilton–Jacobi equations which appear in stochastic ergodic control. Certain qualitative properties of principal eigenvalues and associated eigenfunctions are studied. Such analysis plays a key role in studying the recurrence and transience of feedback diffusions for the corresponding stochastic control problems. Our results can be regarded as a nonlinear extension of the criticality theory for Schrödinger operators with decaying potentials.  相似文献

We provide regularity results at the boundary for continuous viscosity solutions to nonconvex fully nonlinear uniformly elliptic equations and inequalities in Euclidian domains. We show that (i) any solution of two sided inequalities with Pucci extremal operators is C 1, α on the boundary; (ii) the solution of the Dirichlet problem for fully nonlinear uniformly elliptic equations is C 2, α on the boundary; (iii) corresponding asymptotic expansions hold. This is an extension to viscosity solutions of the classical Krylov estimates for smooth solutions.  相似文献

In this work a nonlinear eigenvalue problem for a nonlinear autonomous ordinary differential equation of the second order is considered. This problem describes the process of propagation of transverse-electric electromagnetic waves along a plane dielectric waveguide with nonlinear permittivity. We demonstrate, as far as we know, a new method that allows one to derive an equation w.r.t. spectral parameter (the dispersion equation) which contains all necessary information about the eigenvalues. The method is based on a simple idea that the distance between zeros of a periodic solution to the differential equation is the same for the adjacent zeros. This method has no connections with the perturbation theory or the notion of a bifurcation point. Theorem of equivalence between the eigenvalue problem and the dispersion equation is proved. Periodicity of the eigenfunctions is proved, a formula for the period is found, and zeros of the eigenfunctions are determined. The formula for the distance between adjacent zeros of any eigenfunction is given. Also theorems of existence and localization of the eigenvalues are proved.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the critical exponents of two families of Pucci's extremal operators. The notion of critical exponent that we have chosen for these fully nonlinear operators which are not variational is that of threshold between existence and nonexistence of the solutions for semilinear equations with pure power nonlinearities. Summary We are concerned with bounds for the error between given approximations and the exact eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of self-adjoint operators in Hilbert spaces. The case is included where the approximations of the eigenfunctions don't belong to the domain of definition of the operator. For the eigenvalue problem with symmetric elliptic differential operators these bounds cover the case where the trial functions don't satisfy the boundary conditions of the problem. The error bounds suggest a certain defectminization method for solving the eigenvalue problems. The method is applied to the membrane problem.  相似文献

The motion of a particle in the field of an electromagnetic monopole (in the Coulomb–Dirac field) perturbed by an axially symmetric potential after quantum averaging is described by an integrable system. Its Hamiltonian can be written in terms of the generators of an algebra with quadratic commutation relations. We construct the irreducible representations of this algebra in terms of second-order differential operators; we also construct its hypergeometric coherent states. We use these states in the first-order approximation with respect to the perturbing field to obtain the integral representation of the eigenfunctions of the original problem in terms of solutions of the model Heun-type second-order ordinary differential equation and present the asymptotic approximation of the corresponding eigenvalues.  相似文献

We study radial sign-changing solutions of a class of fully nonlinear elliptic Dirichlet problems in a ball, driven by the extremal Pucci's operators and with a power nonlinear term. We first determine a new critical exponent related to the existence or nonexistence of such solutions. Then we analyze the asymptotic behavior of the radial nodal solutions as the exponents approach the critical values, showing that new concentration phenomena occur. Finally we define a suitable weighted energy for these solutions and compute its limit value.  相似文献
